I've been watching some of these tutorials, is there any way you can make a tutorial with the after-effects presets. I don't have the money to be buying custom tools.
I have a longer string of text that the ink is too big for and I am having problems figuring out how to adjust the width of the wisp. I see it should be velocity and resistance under particle physics, but that doesn't seem to work
Keeping in my philosophy of "everything looks better when it's shrunk down", you could do this... Make multiple comps by duplicating them, and fit as many letters on there as you can, putting the next letters in your text in the next comp, and so on. Then bring all the comps together in a final comp. That's one option. Another, probably easier option, would be to move the wisp back in 3D space, along the z-axis, to make it smaller. Then you can still animate it to follow your letters.
Hi, I would like to change the thickness of the ink but adjusting the Particle Controls "Birth Size" and "Death Size" isn't changing the width. I don't want to adjust the width/scale by using the Z space because if the client asks to modify the width I will have to go back and reanimate all the positions. How can I change the width using the controls? The written expression for birth rate (for eg) is: a = effect("Particle Controls")("Pseudo/PC-0018"); s = effect("Particle Controls")("Pseudo/PC-0019"); ... so I wouldn't be able to control the parameters there either.
Hi. I had a look at the template. Birth Size is what did it for me. There's a wiggle expression on there, but it still lets you increase the value. You might want to do it for all three Ink Bleed layers. Birth Size changes the width of the ink trail without changing its position in the frame, so I think that's what you're looking for.
@@creationeffects Thanks so much for the very quick reply. I tried Birth Size again and it worked! My bad - I'm not sure why I couldn't get it to work yesterday. Thanks again.
You should be able to just keyframe the controls. Keyframe the size to be thicker while the filigree letter is writing out, then keyframe it to get thinner when it starts the other letters.
Scratch that... if you're duplicate the wisps for each letter, you don't need to keyframe anything. Just scale it up using the Birth Size and Death Size controls, on the wisp layers that you're using for your filigree letter.
thank you very much for your tuto we always forgot to tell you how is fun to see your work
Thank you - I appreciate that!
Great! It's like the ending scene of The Witcher 3

I need to do this but its like blood writing
Would really rather have this as an extension

@@splatimation No worries, I'm just glad it's working :)
is the project going to be light enough to handle long text writings like a song lyric video
I wouldn't recommend it, because it would be a lot of work. You would still need to trace every character with the pen tool.
how can i scale the ink when i want to write filigree letters?
