I want to ask a question I honestly didn't watch the entire video because I need to go take care of something. However if you could simply answer this question. I do believe I heard you mention that you had a setback. What was the setback and was it due to chebe? My second question, is there a reason that you changed to the powder from the grease? Also because my hair is thin wearing my regular hair and twists and braids would not look right on me. Do you have any thoughts on styling hair like twistout, with other products on top of Chebe product?
I started already lol. After binge watching her videos I found the powder I ordered last year. I stopped for 2 weeks to go to Vegas but started again this week. The only thing I struggled with was washing out all the grit. I wish the owner sent to powder to a mill to grind down some of the larger ingredients.
I agree with all you said. My hair was always at 10 inches no matter what I did. I started using Chebe grease and I have retained 3 inches. My hair is now at 13 inches, so I will keep doing it for now well into 2025 God willing.
@@KlassicallyKept, you hair is gorgeous! This is the type of stylist I need. My hair is very fine and thin compared to others so stylists assume I have heat damage and want to chop off my hair when I never use heat, smh. I need someone to take the time to properly examine my hair.
I hope you might consider making a documentary about this entire journey. I think a lot of people would find it incredibly compelling. I also think you could shop it around at places like Tubi, Netflix, Amazon Video and even TH-cam Movies. You've got the skills and the knowledge! This is such a beautiful journey and I really appreciate the fact that you are sharing it with all of us. Thank you very much. ❤❤
Your hair is gorgeous! You take such excellent care of it. I would love to see someone replicate this experiment using your hair care practices with regular grease (without chebe). My hypothesis is they would experience the same length retention. I think your amazing hair care practices and the emollients in the grease protect your ends. I can’t wait to see your hair in another 6 months!
I don't think so. I used to use only leave in and ever since i added chebe still with my lazy hair routine,i noticed my hair breaks less than usual. So for me now chebe will FOREVER be in my hair routine.
Thick from root to tips, yessss!! Ive been doing your routine for the past few weeks and i notice a big difference so far. I just have to keep going..i need to reduce the amount of shed hair i lose per week. I also been stepping into my headwrap game 😆 im excited for all this lol!
Chebe journey looks great. Wow the trim on this trip with with your hair stylist made your hair look longer and thicker this time. It has definitely grown and you retained your lengthy thick hair. I don't know if is the chebe or the actual care you use in taking care of your hair. Chebe is the only new ingredient you have added to you hair care routine. So I would say chebe is working. Chebe grease is working for me. I see less breakage when I wash and redo my hair as well. I wash every two weeks and moisturize my hair every 3-5 days in between and rarely use my blow dryer to dry my hair.
Good morning Kim. I am so glad the chebe grease is working for you. Yes, the chebe is the only new thing in my hair care regimen and I am still amazed. While I do think the chebe plays a role I will also say ( which I know people are tired of hearing ) consistency is key. With any healthy hair journey you have to be consistent. For me keeping it simple and setting a schedule has helped tremendously.
This is awesome that you have retained length and no split ends. Your consistency with the chebe powder and grease is proof in itself. I stop applying the powder to my hair. I’m now mixing the powder as a liquid with my essential oils, vegetable glycerin as a hydration. I’m also using the hair grease on my hair as well on my ends.
The journey is great i love how chebe has strengthened and darkened your hair, however,i think that not using tools to brush your hair has played a huge role too in reducing split ends and length retention
Beautiful results ❤️ thanks to you I've ordered the power and the grease and now my journey begins ‼️ my mid back length natural hair pray fully will turn into waist length possibly in a year using your tips ❤ we will see thank you for your diligence on this journey #keepinspiring
I use chebe also mixed with castor oil…..It makes my hair soooo moisturized….but I’m about to stop blow drying an see what will happen, I want it as long as yours girl🥰🥰❤️❤️👏👏
Love you video. I believe on how you changed the way you handle your hair by finger detangling and limiting the uses of hair tools played a real big factor in how you retained your hair length. Yes Chebe is a good product but if another person uses it their hair will grow but if they do not take the time and patience to handle their hair properly they will just be breaking off their progress during the duration of using the Chebe hair product.
Good morning and thank you for watching ! I speak about how handling your hair can lead to breakage as well all the time. It is one of the main tips I give. Manipulation and heat will out do great hair care products and haircare regimens every time. I have acknowledged the fact that the discontinued use of detangling tools has played a role in my length retention as well.
I've been on my chebe journey since 2020. I started with an inch of hair. In a year, my hair was past my ear. I stopped using chebe 2 yrs after starting, and I wore mini twist. My hair grew but the ends wasn't as healthy when I used chebe. I'm now back on my chebe journey. I do it the traditional way. I will be using it for 4 years with no breaks in between, only in the summer. I will do twist during that time.
Your hair stylist is amazing 🧡👌🏾. I love how gentle she is with your hair & I love how she communicates with you in regards to the status of your hair. Congrats 🎈 on all of the length you retained. Your hair looks beautiful & healthy. Tfs.

Thank you for the experiment. I am definitely considering joining this journey. I am experiencing quite a bit of breakage, so this would help me immensely. I also looked at other TH-camrs who underwent similar journeys, and I can say that their results have been the same. Congrats
Beautiful! Chebe and your consistency and the way you love on your hair has proven how healthy our hair journey can be. TFS! The chebe oil and grease has been wonderful for my microlocs so thank you again for sharing!
That's amazing results! Usually, hair splits naturally at three months from my own results, and I've read. It's also very nice you have a stylist that knows what a micro trim is. I was worried you'd get all your progress cut off. I wonder if chebe would work on my hair? My hair is upper thigh length, curly and textured. Thanks for your hair care videos, I really appreciate them.
Good morning and thank you! I have known her since high school she keeps it real and simple, nor is se scissor happy. Based on the research I have done chebe is suitable for all hair types!
Thank you so much for the encouragement, I just got my first container of Chebe butter to use, I’m looking forward to the journey. I’m loving all your progress.
Your hair is gorgeous and your chebe journey has inspired me to use the grease. I haven’t graduated to the powder because I don’t think my hair is long enough yet. I hope to have as much success over time with my hair as you have had.
Mya, what amazing progress! Your hair is truly beautiful! Even your Stylist was amazed. I appreciate your Stylist allowing you to film the blow out, trim and end result. She did a beautiful job! Did you wet your hair again the apply the Chebe grease once you styled your hair? Thank you for continuing to share your inspiring Chebe journey! ❤

But I look forward to my grease journey and after 9 months, I’ll get back to you, hopefully, with my before and after photos!!❤❤❤
Hi Maya! Thank you for the video! I'm glad to see that the chebe is doing its thing. I've been using it as well but I'm not consistant as you, but I'm still seeing results! ❤
You are one gorgeous young lady and I love your videos! Thank you. But I just want to share that I managed to grow my hair from top of the shoulders to waist length without cutting it and without the assistance of a professional, during the Pandemic. So, two years? It wasn't until I had someone else do my hair that it got badly damaged, and I lost seven inches of growth. We each have to do what we think is right, I know. But I don't believe that cutting on my hair is necessary. All my ends need is a lot of attention and TLC, and they do not split. Great work! ❤

I'm here watching, admiring, and loving your hair only to realize that mine is the same length as yours. Amazing. I am on an aggressive length retention regime so I keep my hair away all the time. I have not seen it open since 2021. My goal is tailbone length before I start wearing it out. I think I can achieve that by end of next year. So, just over a year to go. I'm so happy with my progress. By the way, I love how thick and full your hair is.

Hello Maya, I'm coming up on my 4th year natural. I started late November 2020 with deciding to no longer perm my hair for the 4c-able future. I started off just wearing box braids for 2-3 months and leaving my hair out for 1 month and repeating the process. I experienced so much growth for the first 2 years, but as i got closer to the 4 year mark, I was experimenting with non-extension styles like mini twists, mini braids, or just wearing my afro (which I love) However, I realized the longer I had my hair out with no extensions, the more breakage I got from preparing my hair for those styles. I have high porosity hair , so it drys very quick and unable to retain moisture. On top of that, I have not trimmed my ends ever since I big chopped so my split ends and thin ends caused a lot of knots and unwanted tangles. Needless to say, I had to cut 2 inches off to save my ends; I will be going back to box braids again but this time with more protein treatments/bond builders, little to no blow drying, and trimming before and after the braids. For my natural periods with no extensions, you influenced me to use chebe in my hair to protect it while exposed. Thank you for demonstrating!
Woooww, so I wash, deep condition my hair then I was blow drying an then putting chebe grease in my hair…. But after looking at your hair, I’m gonna cut out the blow dryer, an just put chebe in my hair a twist it up….An just keep that routine, an see how long my hair grows

I bought 10 packs of Chebe powder and I’m about ready to get rid of it. Can you please share how you keep the chebe powder from touching your scalp? I try to apply it away from my scalp, about 1 1/2 inches away, but somehow the crumbs get to my scalp and causes irritation. Does the grease provide the same benefits for retention? Would you recommend it as a substitution? Thank you for sharing an update, your hair is gorgeous and thriving!!!
Commenting late Mya. Next time try to bobby pin the measuring tape at the top to your hair (gently, of course). Length checks are not your thing. I don't even remember ever seeing you do one, other than stretching it out. Thanks for the video.
Good morning! It depends on what you are looking for and how much effort you are willing to put into your hair care routine Chebe Powder If you are looking for aggressive length retention I would suggest the powder. You can achieve the same benefit with the grease, but it can take longer. The powder is restrictive. If you are a wash and go girlie you will not be able to wear it out, once the powder dries it will begin fall out of your hair. You will either have to wrap up or pin your hair up. The powder is messy. chebe Grease You can use the grease as you would any other products: wash an goes, braids, twists, and styling. The grease works well as well. With both you will need to find your sweet spot, the goal is to not let your hair dry out Chebe guide link: klassicallykept.com/product/chebeguide/
Don't sweep your shed hair with a 🧹broom and don't throw your shed hair in the trash! In Africa in the Fulani tribe, we collect our shed hair from the floor, wash it, and bury it in the garden. @ thank you for always sharing your info and giving details. Much appreciated. I recently lost a lot of my hair and am trying some of your techniques to grown it back.
is it just me, but i get a trim every 3 months, but I still stay at the same hair length despite prioritizing length retention and protective style. so at this point, i feel like my 3 month trims are too often, or the stylist cuts too much off. She cuts abt an inch i think. what should i do?

Hello Maya, I'm coming up on my 4th year natural. I started late November 2020 with deciding to no longer perm my hair for the 4c-able future. I started off just wearing box braids for 2-3 months and leaving my hair out for 1 month and repeating the process. I experienced so much growth for the first 2 years, but as i got closer to the 4 year mark, I was experimenting with non-extension styles like mini twists, mini braids, or just wearing my afro (which I love)
However, I realized the longer I had my hair out with no extensions, the more breakage I got from preparing my hair for those styles.
Good morning and thank you for sharing this!
I wish you much success on your hair journey and with the chebe.
Amazing.
thank you
Where is that white dress from the beginning of the video from I love it!!!
Thank you. It is from Shona Joy. It is old.
Woooww, so I wash, deep condition my hair then I was blow drying an then putting chebe grease in my hair…. But after looking at your hair, I’m gonna cut out the blow dryer, an just put chebe in my hair a twist it up….An just keep that routine, an see how long my hair grows
Omg, I love the linen dress you are wearing while measuring where did you buy it?
Thank you. It is old but it is from Shona Joy

@@KlassicallyKeptand Chebe powder 😉
I bought 10 packs of Chebe powder and I’m about ready to get rid of it. Can you please share how you keep the chebe powder from touching your scalp? I try to apply it away from my scalp, about 1 1/2 inches away, but somehow the crumbs get to my scalp and causes irritation. Does the grease provide the same benefits for retention? Would you recommend it as a substitution?
Thank you for sharing an update, your hair is gorgeous and thriving!!!
where is your headband from?
If the nape was cut to 11” 3 months ago and it’s now 12” that seems like slow growth. Doesn’t hair grow .5” a month?
Not slow, she's just cutting too much
Can we get a skin care routine!!??
lol sure !
I wish i looked this good and im 24
Commenting late Mya. Next time try to bobby pin the measuring tape at the top to your hair (gently, of course). Length checks are not your thing. I don't even remember ever seeing you do one, other than stretching it out. Thanks for the video.
Good morning Jennifer! Lol no ma am they are not….. it was a struggle , but that is a good idea! I am excited for the next 3 months !
Hello do you use the Tea Tree shampoo every two weeks along with the Shea moisture shampoo and conditioner?
Yes I use the tea tree shampoo every 2 weeks.
I am currently using Flora and Curl Hydrate Me Shampoo.
OMG where did you get that dress? It's soooo pretty on you
Thank you. It is from Shona Joy !
@@KlassicallyKept Thanks Hun!
But which would would u recommend the powder or the grease
Good morning!
It depends on what you are looking for and how much effort you are willing to put into your hair care routine
Chebe Powder
If you are looking for aggressive length retention I would suggest the powder. You can achieve the same benefit with the grease, but it can take longer.
The powder is restrictive. If you are a wash and go girlie you will not be able to wear it out, once the powder dries it will begin fall out of your hair. You will either have to wrap up or pin your hair up.
The powder is messy.
chebe Grease
You can use the grease as you would any other products: wash an goes, braids, twists, and styling.
The grease works well as well.
With both you will need to find your sweet spot, the goal is to not let your hair dry out

Don't sweep your shed hair with a 🧹broom and don't throw your shed hair in the trash! In Africa in the Fulani tribe, we collect our shed hair from the floor, wash it, and bury it in the garden. It is a spiritual thing and We can't imagine our hair mixed with the trash or in a garbage dump or in the sewage.🤕
I think shes in Africa though 🙄
Girl, I need that head wrap. Where did you get it from?
I cannot remember if there is a headwrap in this video.
The sold color headwraps you see are from Amazon.
The pre-tied headwraps are from YGN or You Go Natural.
The ribbed headwraps are from Modern Day Classic.
I meant the head band with leopard prints. It’s beautiful. Your hair is gorgeous btw.
I don’t know if you mentioned this before but do you take vitamins?
I am not currently taking any vitamins
what kind of heat protectants and blower dryers do you use?
Heat protectant - L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Sleek It Iron Straight Heat Spray
Blow Dryer - Rev-air
@ thank you!
@ thank you for always sharing your info and giving details. Much appreciated. I recently lost a lot of my hair and am trying some of your techniques to grown it back.
Pls after blow drying the hair how many inches is the back hair???
19-21.5
Wow! Has your hair always grown 1 inch per month? Or is it the chebe?
I cannot say. I do not do regular length checks.
I am only doing them know for the chebe journey and to show yall.
what is ur hair type, because my hair looks exactly like urs
I would be considered low porosity

Is the shea moisture amla bond line helping?
Yes
Amla is a natural DHT blocker..❤
Does the chebe make your hair more stiff and dry but strong ?
Great question! It does not.
After my hair dries from the traditional chebe application my hair is hydrated and it is not stiff.
is it just me, but i get a trim every 3 months, but I still stay at the same hair length despite prioritizing length retention and protective style. so at this point, i feel like my 3 month trims are too often, or the stylist cuts too much off. She cuts abt an inch i think. what should i do?
There is no reason to cut an inch every 3 months. We only grow a half inch a month so youre cutting all your growth
@@RAJOHN-ke7mc thank you so much. what about twice a year? every 5 months? 6 months?
❤
14:11 I thought you cut your hair😂
No lol , just my nape area
