If those trucks are coming to PA, or any other states where are they dumping the waste? Is it going to affect those dump places and the neighborhoods and areas around the dump site?

Many chemicals are soluble in water. Aerating water can convert some of those dissolved chemicals back into their gaseous form releasing them back into the surrounding atmosphere. In the UK where a small amount of chlorine is used to kill bacteria in drinking water, you can smell the released chlorine if you run the taps (faucets) near their maximum. Sometimes aeration can speed up oxidisation depending on the chemicals involved and other gases like carbon dioxide may be dissolved into the water during in the process. Additional oxygen in the water can promote the biological breakdown of some chemicals too. Whether aeration is beneficial or harmful depends on the chemicals involved.
@@22lilacsky The old saying is that 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'. From beginning to end the whole event is a line of failures at every level. For the accident to happen means that common sense, basic safety, reasonable safety procedures and safety procedures specific to the transport of dangerous chemicals were either missed or ignored, so imagining that the train manifest is accurate in the first place would be a mistake. And as for the 'so and so' who set that 'controlled burn', no comment. The sadder reality is that the rail company is still being allowed to operate, nearly a month after.
They've sent 95% of all of the toxic sludge to Houston without warning 7 million residents for the past 3 weeks. They didn't even tell the Mayors or city leaders or the governor....the EPA and Buttigeig just sent it there....by train. We saw it coming in on the east side of Houston, a very poor area of town, mostly minorities. They don't have a clue.
