    • @cake-face
      @cake-face ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. I'm convinced that was the whole reason they decided to do a "controlled burn", if you can even call it that.... They had the tracks up and running by the time people were allowed to return to their homes after the evacuation was lifted. They just laid new track over all the contaminated soil. Why the hell are they just now talking about removing the contaminated soil? Why wasn't that done BEFORE the track was rebuilt? Why the hell did the Ohio EPA and the governor allow the people who caused this disaster to be in charge of the minimal "cleanup" and air/water "monitoring", and then just let them rebuild the track and continue business as usual before the EPA even had their own test results back? It's just mind boggling...

    And where is that soil going? It's going to Texas where they plan to secretly dump it. This is according to a town hall meeting where someone in Texas learned of this and was rather pissed. Thankfully I live just outside Philly PA but it's tragic what is happening in Ohio and there seems to be no accountability for what happened and is happening and what is going to happen.

      Usually what is done is the soil is trucked to a facility where it is burned inside a furnace to burn off anything in it, where as more toxins released into the air. Then they will probably just dump it back under the train tracks.

    • @andrewbarnum5040
      @andrewbarnum5040 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yourbestgolf365 Well it's not public knowledge and the chemicals in that soil are some of the worst in existence. The soil needs to go some place far away from civilization. So far the government has completely screwed this up from day one so I don't have high hopes the EPA will do any better. And the soil is just part of the equation. The water is deadly also it's it is very likely to contaminate everything around that town.
      And by the way, the term conspiracy theorist if someone that gets too close to the truth so I call them a conspiracy theorist to knock him off track.

      @mattmarzula ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jonredd650 I'm not sure how much attention you have been paying. There were still train cars on the tail end of the wreckage that didn't derail and the few million dollars an hour the company was losing because of it seems to warrant moving it out. Doesn't make sense to needlessly block the tracks. I know there's a human side to this tragedy but, there's also a logic side. Like how the people who are largely unaffected who are being convinced that they are victims are standing in the way of progress for the real victims.
      You claim it's a disaster and nightmare. How? How is it affecting you as a disaster would? The roads are accessible. There's no loss of life or mass casualty event. There's no loss of services or utilities. People are not displaced, unaccounted for, or separated from families in refugee camps. There's no ongoing emergency evacuation or rescue effort. Nothing is on fire. So what's causing a nightmare situation? I mean, other than people not being able to cooperate? Ecological fallout? I've been to East Palestine. It's a cesspool to begin with. That oil didn't settle in creek beds with moving water and under rocks in a week. It's been building up for years from highway 51 runoff and hillbillies dumping oil products into the waterways since motors have had petroleum based lubricants.
      I'd have already settled out of court, left town, and not looked back by now.

    The tracks were installed AFTER the derailment according to the beginning of this report. So that means that NFS put new tracks on top of contaminated soil? Sounds like an admission by NFS, that they thought they could literally just "cover it up" with new tracks and continue business as usual. Meanwhile, all that contaminated soil was allowed to leech down into the groundwater over this last month. NFS needs to be dissolved and all it's assets given to the people affected by this disaster.

    • @yourbestgolf365
      @yourbestgolf365 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Just like union workers were forced to accept an inferior contract "for the greater good" and made to look evil by politicians ( even though they were the ones n the front line warning about these things) it was all for the greater good. NS was ALLOWED to get the track back in place because that is the major east/west artery between chcicago ( and the west coast) and the east coast. There were always plans to dig it up but to keep the supply chain from suffering and more disruption than it has already endured in the last few years they put temporary tracks in. The new track is sitting there and crews have been working around the clock to remove soil. I am not giving anyone apass because between the RR's ( all of the class 1's) and the government ( both parties) there is plenty of blame to go around. What people don't realize is that this is not nearly as bad as it could have been. If this had been chlorine you would have truck loads of body bags being brought in.
