The exploits of his gruesome dramatis personae are unintentionally hilarious! I could listen to him talk all day. A true gentleman/ scholar.

Anthony Daniels practices the virtues of the English gentleman;once the paradigme for all men everywhere, now ridiculed.Sang-froid or courage in the face of danger is one of those virtues. The others are justice, temperance, prudence.A person who displays these qualities today will be given psychotherapy.

There's a certain cold steel attitude in all this...

There's a few trolls on this page. I guess intelligence, humour, and a sense of irony must attract the blighters... Oh well, I'm off to have a crap. Cheerio!

I just can't see the strangulation story as funny. Strangulation is not quick, it takes a long time and a lot of force to strangle someone to death while they slowly suffocate, fighting for air, fighting for their life. Someone who just wanted to talk to her husband and was murdered because he couldn't read his paper and her earrings irritated him. It's so dark.

I thought the same thing. It was strange to hear people laughing at this story.

It’s the sheer absurdity of it all that makes them use humour to deal with the discomfort of realising that ultimately people have done the most awful things ostensibly for the most ridiculous of reasons. Part of the sheer absurdity is realising that there are quite literally hundreds of things that could have been done short of murder. E.g. divorce, different earrings, the wife getting a social hobby etc etc etc

Yes Arthur - you certainly are.
I found him very interesting and humorous within the terrible situations he found himself in as a young doctor.
It's a lesson about the dangers in this world that many are not even aware of as they bait and irritate others and carelessly drive people to horrific acts.
A fair warning to us all.
