So first Sheena fights off mutant fish monsters, then she gets sucked into a haunted house board game, and then her mom goes on a date with a vampire. The poor girl cannot catch a break.
As a Goosebumps veteran i highly agree Cry of the Cat would’ve made a far better finale because of how much of a love letter it was to the rest of the show, according to the wiki it WAS the final episode they made but because of a mistake i believe, i couldn’t get any confirmation anywherec online, Deep Trouble became the series finale instead, speaking of Cry of the Cat just throwing it out there, the makeup effects and animatronics in that one legit gave me childhood nightmares when i owned the DVD many a year ago.
His fate at the end always stuck with me. He wanted to exploit others for selfish gain and at the cost of their humanity. He ends up as a sideshow freak where his mutation is exploited.
Dr. D was betrayed by his assistant in the first book and was betrayed by his assistant in the second book too. What is wrong with this guy? He needs to start screening these people better
In 12:13 I believe that mask is from One Day at HorrorLand during the house of mirrors scene. 14:13 And also the reason why they swap actors a lot is because they were both filmed in Canada and filmed around the same areas so it would make sense that a lot of Canadian actors would appear in both shows.
I remember loving “Deep Trouble” so much as a kid, I would watch this episode all the time whenever I could, and you’re still making amazing and funny videos Kingnusmi, great job. Can’t wait to see you review more Goosebumps and AYAOTD videos in the future.

This episode is good to some degree. But I do like it. Who would've known that this is the last episode for the original Goosebumps Tv series. If the original Goosebumps TV series continued, what story do you wish to see adapted? Anyways fantastic job covering some of these spooky summer themed episodes. I hope you have a spooked free summer!

A lot of goosebumps actors in Tommy boy lol
Oooh Oooh! the monster @12:13 is also from one day at horror land and appears briefly in the mirror room scene - he is creepy as hell and used like a jump scare so instead they use a digital effect to soften the shock value of him appearing at first!

I recently managed to download ebooks of every Goosebumps book and finally read all the ones my country didn't translate. This was a very fun review. You're right, it was not a one to one with the book. (The sequel had seagulls with talons, leading to me labelling Stine a city-slicker.)
Hey Kingnusmi, your content is really great, I would suggest the episode the Tale of the Water Demons from Are You Afraid of the Dark to connect with the water/summer theme for next year.
I'm only just now seeing this video. Funny thing, I was thinking just last night about the nine Goosebumps episodes I have on DVD, particularly "Awesome Ants". I think it would be cool if you did a video on that one, since the ending somehow went over my head as a kid (though I think nowadays I figured out what happened). And maybe "Ghost Beach" and "The Headless Ghost" would make for great videos, too, just because those two managed to genuinely terrify me in a way no other episodes did.
The island in part 2 with all these fish mutants and giant animals (with most of the animals even being green-screened), feels reminiscent of a lot of 50s B-movies (I was even expecting the crab and the lizard to fight each other as a kid). As a kid, I was reminded of King Kong, but when I got older I was reminded of the movie The Cyclops which I only knew about from James Rolfe's Monster Madness: Camp Cult review.
IMO deep trouble part 1 and 2 were actually really scary and awesome goosebumps episodes. Granted they could’ve had better visual effects at times, but it WAS made in the late 90’s. Another reason I like them is because I have a really strong interest in marine life, and the ending in part 2 was just *chef’s kiss* the icing on the cake. I actually remember feeling scared for Dr. Ritter when he saw the the D-13 while packing up to make a getaway despite him being the villain, can you imagine your just chilling at your beach house and all the sudden you start seeing this slimy substance somewhere in your home or around your home that you know is a sign that some creepy dangerous mutant fish/human hybrids are stalking you? I REALLY hope these episodes get adapted into the new goosebumps 2023 series(great modern remake btw) for future seasons.
What other videos will you do if this is the last for the summer special? I just found your channel by accident this summer and throughly enjoyed it and want to continue to support 😊
Ok please make that My Mom dated a vampire video for this Halloween..you unlocked a childhood memory with that lil clip alreay lol ❤ your channel is awesome..
Have you ever covered the Goosebumps episode "The House of No Return"? For whatever reason, I specifically remember that one from when I was little and it terrified me.
this might be a somewhat unknown show but I think Lost Tapes would make a great show to cover on your channel. It was a found footage style show on Animal Planet that showed different kinds of monsters and how they would be if they existed.
I remember that My Mom Had A Date With A Vampire film, was actually pretty decent. Deep Trouble has such a cool cover I am tempted to read it myself, same with One Day at Horrorland. The chemical D-13 makes me wonder if the name was inspired by Deep 13 from MST3K's early days.
This Goosebumps episode was basically taking elements from mainly the Goosebumps book Deep Trouble 2 and a little bit of Deep Trouble 1. I guess it's because Deep Trouble wasn't scary, except the moments with the shark and the sea monster, which were both very brief, and the rest of the book was mainly focusing on the Mermaid, who was very friendly.
So, I think the mask that appears right after the Piranha guy (12:13) is seen in One Day at Horrorland. I think it can be seen when Lizzie is stuck in a room in the Hall of Mirrors and she sees something in the dark with her.
I don't know where they are or what kind of island they're on but FUN FACT: For Ambulances, they usually keep them close by. Most places try to keep medical help within a 5-minute distance. For especially smaller/independent islands, they also have Water Ambulances which is - you guessed it - a boat! This is all assuming people know they're there.
I think the mask at 12:12 was used in One Day At Horrorland; I think it's the monster Lizzy sees in the Hall of Mirrors, but I could be wrong. I don't recognize the other one tho
Yo could you review that one two parter goosebumps episode where the kid gets sent to a strange military boarding school with a spooky secret behind it
I think the closest thing to that fish that comes to mind is a stonefish. They're nasty little bastards. They live in shallow water, are heavily camouflaged, and have venom spines that shoot the venom with a lot of force into whatever they puncture. People sometimes step on them because they're hard to spot.
I saw an episode of River Monsters that centered around them once, and the host bopped it on the back with a flip-flop. The spines went straight through the shoe and shot venom into the air like a water pistol.
I know you get so many review suggestions and I know people have already brought up Inside Number 9 but if you can you should review the episode Riddle of the Sphinx. It’s one of the most shocking, disturbing and plot twist filled episodes of the series. Fair warning though it’s not family friendly at all.
