    Another comprehensive, useful and entertaining review from Auto EV. If I had a chauffeur, I would definitely consider this car. As I don’t, not as keen to get.

    I have had my Electrified G80 since July 22 (apparently I was the first customer outside Korea!), and its to the same spec as your test car, with the exception of the Executive pack, same exterior colour - Matira blue, but with the Arctic white, lagoon green interior.
    I can certainly echo a lot of what you said, with quietness being excellent, although around town on London’s epically atrocious crater filled roads, the ride can be a little unsettled, also in the eight m9nths of ownership that unsettled ride has highlighted a couple of slight rattles, possibly from for the headlining. I am 6' 3" and can confirm the HUD is fully adjustable including for height, and I'm guessing the bongs you heard on the M25 may have been to do with Speed camera alert system that's included with the Sat Nav. The car has endless other gadgets such as massage drivers seat and a clever remote parking system. Prior to this Genesis I have been an owner of a Maserati Ghibli and twenty years of various Jaguar's and as you allude this is the car Jaguar should be making now. I am always amazed as tohow many passers-by comment on the car, usually thinking its a Bentley and even when I explain its a Genesis they think it cost way more, anything from a 150 to 300k!- its worth mentioning the head of design at Genesis was head of design at Bentley, hence some similarities including the badge!
    Overall when compared to my previous car's, I would have to rate the E G80, and the Genesis customer service as amongst the best I have owned and experienced, and I say that as a self confessed pretty fussy customer!

    Very comprehensive review! I feel like I have been to a dealer to view this vehicle.

    Talk about who's responsible; many drivers are opting to get monitors installed for insurance discounts. Such a bad idea, wouldn't be surprised it they are mandated at some point. Blind spot is perhaps the only nanny I appreciate as it has saved me a couple times over the past 8 years. Money well spent.

    Good to see you’re carrying on with the 80s-based puns, after my effort on your last review. I have an electric GV70 on order - am curious to see what you make of that car - I felt it was more grown up, and a better chassis, than the GV60.

      We are hoping to have an Electrified GV70 to test in the very near future, so stay tuned! Thanks for continuing to support the channel and take the time to comment.

    Very fair review. Unfortunately Genesis lost the U.S. Federal Tax credit as it now requires EV's be assembled in the states. As such I would have to pass as there are better options at this price point but I will be keeping an eye on the second hand market as I suspect these may get hit hard on the depreciation front. BTW, in North America we can't get the Executive Pkg, Solar Sunroof, etc. Basically one trim with your option of paint color only for about $81K delivered, in Canada $105K!

    I guess saloon cars are just not for me, I don't see the point. This car also demonstrates why you shouldn't use an ICE platform - to have that giant bonnet with no storage under it is farcical

    Great review.
    The boot size is a bit negative for me. No way to fit a pram and luggage in the back. Instant fail. I know they’re not targeting the family market, but businessmen have children too!

    i can imagine that as Genesis goes all EV, the replacement for this car will have a bonnet that is two feet shorter and that space given up to the interior, as boot space and rear legroom.

    If you've arrived in the States and you want an executive car that's not German, you buy a G90. Shame then that it unavailable here in the UK. I'll have a Maserati Quatroporte Modena then.

    Looks a bit old-fashioned to me in terms of the bodywork in the same way that an MG5 looks old fashioned. Ioniq 6 looks better to me...

    Great car and review except, as per usual, no mention of charging speeds or charging curve or in fact any sign of a charger. After all this IS an electric car and more in depth information should always be part of the review, though this crititism can be applied to most UK reviewers.

    • @AutoEV
      @AutoEV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Charging speed is detailed in the Usability section. It’s in the figures that are on the screen. We don’t mention the charging curve to be fair, but it’s not something we normally do as most manufacturers don’t give us details like that in press releases or specification details.
      Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.

    Large hut. Stupid trunk hinges still exist in EV times 🤦‍♂️
    Looks like an old 7 series dash.
    Overall I think it's a nice offering.

    No rear wiper,why do the Koreans ignore them.

    • @AutoEV
      @AutoEV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be fair on Genesis, this is a 4 door booted saloon, which doesn't need a rear wiper. Not many saloons have ever had a rear wiper.

    Not sure Genesis (the car company) will appreciate their car being compared to one of Genesis (the band) worst albums
