If you plan to use multiaxis stuff with customized software maybe it is best to wait for the G-RBL release. And that is not some promotion. Forking any of the available open source software is just hell. The beta release will delay a few days. Did some stupid soldering with a broken iron. Tip of the iron was at 230v and grounded through my USB... PC and all periphery is blown. Thank god the hard drives weren't damaged. @@user-cg3em4cw4f
@@G-EDM That's honestly what I was leaning towards once I saw you'd fully customized your own version of GRBL. Hardware stuff doesn't seem too bad since EDM is a low force process so I can probably throw together a somewhat cheap frame/3 axis motion system with steppers I have lying around. Also yikes, can't say I've blown anything that big out. Fried a rpi but that's about the worst.
At the moment the fork only supports mill type machines. That will change later to allow normal router type cncs too. Shouldn't be too hard to convert. Let's not talk about fried stuff. TMC drivers, ESPs, Mosfets, Capacitors, a whole PC.. @@user-cg3em4cw4f

There's only one advice I can give: Don't do it from scratch. :D It is a painful journey.
