Gate must be fast. Doesn't matter how much it cost. Every each got threshold knob so when you turn it down you don't gate it too quickly. This gate even on quick setting is few times too slow for djent. Hard knob equals less threshold and your sustained notes will ring fully. And that speed of gate plus how it cuts and when is what costs there. As well position of gate in chain changes a lot. Try it in effects loops as well. May turn out one rack mount expensive stereo gate is best cuz it can do input and loop at the same time and got separate attack and release knobs. Used on ebay often cost you peanuts. When u get pro gate you will record another video, knowing how much you didn't knew to say gate don't need to be expensive and what is difference in usage of double gate vs something like that. Especially for fast riffs with pauses. On the other hand, you got volume knob and better use this and pauses you can cut out in post.
@@andrewsiemon There's videos that show it visually alot better than I can explain but the way the 4 cable method works suppresses the guitar in front of the amp as well as gating the FX loop. That way there's no loss of sustain while still being super tight on the gate. It's also super controllable so you can still purposely create feedback if you wanted to.
I get you. Probably just by using 2 additional cables to connect from the Return and Send of the FX Loop and the additional inputs and outputs in the NS2
@@andrewsiemonthe NS2 also has a send and return. by using the 4 cable method with an ns2 (or your silencer), you use the clean input signal to set the threshold instead of the dirty signal. the dirty signal goes into the fx loop of the noise gate. guitar -> NS2 input. NS2 send -> dirt pedal -> amp input. FX send -> NS2 return. NS2 output -> FX return. youre welcome.
Hello sir,, why you didn't put the noise gate in the beginning of the pedals? You put it in the middle,, !! Is it ok if i start my pedal poard with noise gate pedal directly from my guitar? Thanks alot 🤘🏻
@@anasshakir1968 I put the gate after the distortion pedal which is the noisiest part of the chain. Putting the gate after the noisiest part, in my view, is usually a solid practice.
@@NintenDub You're not kidding, the "G-String" one is a complete rip-off. Not too sure how I feel about that. Inspiration is one thing, but copying the font/text and everything is kinda weak.

Ive tried a few and keep going back to the boss ns2. After working out the 4 cable method nothing else ive tried comes close.
I’ll have to get one of those and try that for a video. Do you have any tips?

Been using Rowin Noise Gate for almost a year now. Ever since that noise gate never failed me, even once.
Yeah it’s surprisingly decent

There is a copy of ISP called DemonFx filtration gstring
Interesting, I didn’t know that. I’m gonna check it out
Demonfx has many decent clones of a lot of expensive stuff
