I suggest you lose the random subtitles burned into the video - I found them distracting and made your production look cheap (I have found your other videos to otherwise be well put together).
Thank you for the feedback. I am trying out new techniques to make my content better so I appreciate you letting me know that it was distracting and that I should drop that practice.
Overseerr - request manager for sonarr and radarr Jackett - get sonarr and radarr to work with sites that they can't normally talk to Tautulli - plex stats ubooquity - comics / ebooks Krusader - file manager for unraid unBalance - manage storage in unraid by moving data or folders between disks or combining / consolidating data spread across onto a single disk.
Thanks for the list! I run Overseerr, Tautulli, Krusader, and Unbalance. Great minds... I will have to check out Ubooquity. I used to use Jackett but have moved over to Prowlarr, it's simple and works. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! I appreciate the statistics. If I could add anything to list of -arr apps you've showcased, it'd be readarr. It is what you think it is -- sonarr/radarr/lidarr but for books and audio books. I think it'd fit well with Kavita and your bonus recommendation in this video :)
Yeah, I probably should have at least mentioned Readarr. There are so many good containers and since last week's video was on Readarr I figured I would let people know about Kavita and Audiobook Shelf. They are both fantastic!
@@AlienTech42 Yeah, actually your video is what prompted me to check out Kavita and Bookshelf! I'm amassing a library of audiobooks for my family thanks to you :)
Kavita looks great but its not finding my entire library even though there are several books loading into kavita while skipping others. file format is the same... any thoughts?
I had issues with the authors names, and or book title not being a 100% match. Check the Preview Rename within Readarr and use that to correct the book title/author. After that is done, go back to Kavita, Server Settings, Library, then click Scan Library.
@@AlienTech42 I've tried this. It's still not working. It's just strange that it will pull some books under the same author/folder but not other books with the exact same format.
Awesome vids man. I only follow you now. Before I found you, I followed others and now have a system without formatting. I think many would be interested in a walk thru of how to convert previously setup systems to TRASH. I know I could delete everything and start trash now but would be nice to migrate. Also, to setup as visible on network so I can access files from network computers. Super helpful man. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the comment. I am glad my videos are helping you. In my video "Bring in the Trash with TRaSH Guides on Unraid" - th-cam.com/video/nkJilTYef6E/w-d-xo.html I cover getting your Unraid server setup for TRaSH. Once the data locations are set up you just need to move the data and then change the paths within each app. (Plex, Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, etc.) I have a playlist that covers each step of the process. You don't have to delete, just change what you currently have to the new data locations. To be able to view the files from your network computers, you need to set the data share SMB Security Settings, Export to Yes. I cover that in the "Bring in the Trash..." video.
I use emby instead of plex. I have lots of other things setup but I will say, I couldn't get Liddar to replace spotify. So hard to find the music from the niche artists I like to listen too.
I hear ya on finding niche music, not an easy task. How is Emby now days? I used it years ago but ended up on Plex. Thinking maybe I'll check it out again and see what it's like now.
@@AlienTech42 It works pretty well it does seem to have some issues with intel arc drivers which is what I'm using with it(says its not supported in unraid but a driver I downloaded says its working). It also still doesn't have amazing apps on everything. Specifically its apple tv app is missing some features. But the iphone app is really good. I tried Jellyfin originally and couldn't get it working and have never tried plex myself so I couldn't compare it.

@@AlienTech42 also not a fan of the random subtitles, I know a few youtubers that I have to turn on subs for, but you are not one.

Check out prowlarr as a much better alternative to jackett

Do you have a link to the iOS app ( audiobook shelf ) please? I tried looking for it, but can’t find it
It looks like it is in beta and the test flight is currently full. Check out ShelfPlayer. github.com/rasmusIos/ShelfPlayer
