    Great video !! I use Sab to gather my nzb's. Glad to check how I set it up was close. Made some connections, works better now. I use 3 news groups plus a block amount. You might want to discus the use of block data to fill in nzb gaps. I do not use torrents only nzb's.

    Since you already setup SAB with SSL VPN is not needed and just cuts the speed to almost 1/4

    • @AlienTech42
      @AlienTech42  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I may be paranoid, but I just don't trust the SSL alone. However, 1/4 the speed is a big deal. I'll look into this more. Thanks for sharing.

      I've gotten the email from the ISP while downloading torrents without the VPN, but never with Usenet and SSL over many years. Great video, though!

    Last ditch effort, I have followed Updated guide for sonarr, radarr, sabnzbd, it downloads just fine but will not import I have it setup exactly like you do. The error I get is You are using docker; download client SABnzbd places downloads in /media/tv/ but this directory does not appear to exist inside the container. Review your remote path mappings and container volume settings. any suggestions? I know this video is a month old but it's worth a shot

      It should be placing them in /data/usenet/complete, or incomplete while it's downloading. Come join us on Discord, and we can help get it sorted with you.

    Well taking the shortcut of referring us to the prowlarr video leads to a problem. When you add the sabnzbd client to prowlarr there is an input box for default category. Mine started with "prowlarr" as the entry. Won't accept this choice. Cleared the entry and got a caution symbol when I hit test. And again when I saved. Hit test and save a second time and it was accepted.

      Thanks for letting me know. When I added it to my setup, it worked first try. I'll remove it and add it back in and see if I get your issue or not.

    how does this work alongside using qbit torrenting i want to do both do i need separate folder locations for movies and tv? will plex etc need to see one folder? im confused how to run both

    • @AlienTech42
      @AlienTech42  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The TRaSH folder structure handles both torrents and Usenet. The base share is /data/ inside of data you will have media, torrents, and usenet. See below.
      /data/media/movies, tv, or whatever you want.
      /data/torrent/movies, tv, or whatever
      /data/usenet/complete/movies, tv, or whatever
      /data/usenet/incomplete/
      That is the basic structure. The torrent client and the usenet client have their own locations to put the files, once they are done seeding or downloading, they get moved to the proper folder (movies, tv, etc.) within their parent folder, (torrents, usenet/complete.) Upon the mover runs they are moved to their proper home, /data/media/(movie, tv, etc) folder so that Plex has full access to the file.

    How do i do this if I can’t move my files to the cache, since it doesn’t have enough space?

      You are welcome! If the cache drive is full, then Unraid will skip the cache drive and send that data straight to the array. You should have no issues.

    Is the step with the custom network needed? What happens when I continue to use the default "Bridge" mode?

    • @LuminantDubstep
      @LuminantDubstep 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not necessary, but it's useful. Using a custom network keeps traffic local to the server instead of routing through the default bridge, just extra steps taken that's not needed. Using a custom network is just more efficient and it's more secure for docker containers that talk with each other.

    Can you please so a config video for those of us who aren't using trash guides? I've got a week's worth of data to transfer if something goes wrong redoing my entire server from your previous videos...and I'm now stuck at setting up folders because my setup based on your older videos doesn't match. [edit] in fact SABnzbd is now putting its downloads in the appdata folder...and I have no idea how to fix that. Any help would be great...otherwise it works. [\edit] Thank you. :)

    • @AlienTech42
      @AlienTech42  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only real difference is the location of the folders inside of SAB, instead of /data/usenet/... you would choose your current folder structure. IE. /media/usenet/... or maybe /downloads/usenet/... The other place would be in the container itself. The dat path would be /mnt/ user/(Whatever your location is.)
