It is crazy that a detector at this price doesn`t come with waterproof headphones, I detect in Ireland and rain is nearly always about. Another good video. Your Nox videos were my `go to` when I had any questions. Many thanks.
Do you have waterproof headphones for the Equinox? They fit the Manticore to 👍. If you have any questions on the Manticore but you haven’t seen a video tutorial up, please ask the question and I can help. ☺️
@@RelicDirtyhands Thank you, I need a full set of videos like you did for the nox please. I have shared those videos to lots of sites. Minelab should be paying you as the manual is rubbish. I am using the factory settings until I get more used to the Manticore. I will use a pair of wired lightweight headphones. Dave
@@bigdave10477 Yes, I wish I had a full series complete, I found myself busier than usual and each video tutorial takes 2-4 days to create. It’s extremely time consuming. 😔
Waterproof wireless or at least showerproof that are lightweight should have been standard , im not a fan of the big ones that make you look like Mickey mouse!.😆
Another excellent tutorial on the Minelab Manticore!!! WTG Laurie & Eric!!! I will be testing out my "Patriot Headphones" as I am told from a reliable source they too are compatible as underwater headphone. Spring can't come soon enough for some underwater recoveries!
I noticed the volume is a lot lower with the wired ML headphones. I have another pair of aftermarket headphones that I used on my equinox and they too sound lower in the Manticore compared to when I used them in the Equinox.
Which wired headphones are you using? This is interesting, I came across a pair of headphones that had a lower volume. What helped was using the simple audio. The faint deep targets were difficult to hear but when I switched to simple, it was much easier to hear. Please let me know what headphones you were using. A product number if you can find it, or what detector the headphones originally came with. Example the Equinox 600 had wired headphones.
5:09 Will the headphone jack cover the LED light connected to the Montecore? The headphone jack is too close to the flashlight. The coil connector is located much further from the flashlight.
It’s best to avoid getting them wet or humid, like my Equinox headphones. They seem resistant to a short light rain. I was once in a hail storm, I dropped my headphones to take cover and the inside got wet, the audio then became scratchy. If you can put a hood on, rain jacket I’m sure it wouldn’t be so bad.. but I’d recommend to be careful. Some have dropped them in the water, it’s a risk! They are expensive to replace so just be careful. The waterproof headphones no problem 👍
Does anyone know if hard wiring the included bluetooth headphones disables the EMF output from them? I don't like wearing Bluetooth devices next to my head for extended periods. Anyone know?
Does it happen when you turn off your detector or walk away from it? If I remember correctly, in both cases I do get a tone in the headphones. Do you think this is what’s happening?
Manticore always sets off wireless connection, when detector is off and when I push on it again, no flashing icon on screen. How to set it, the connection will be automatic?
So once it’s connected, it’s so important that the next time you turn it on, you press the headphone button quickly and let go. If you press and hold the button on the headphone it will start the reset process. That means every time you turn it on it will need to repair. Try it, pair the headphones, then turn them both off. Turn it back on but this time press the headphone power button with a quick press and let it go. Don’t press and hold.
Damn, does this mean I need to buy one of these detectors? Otherwise, Laurie doesn't talk to me. I wonder if they find things? Have you thought of that Laurie they may be useless?
I completely forgot about the WM09 Module, you can use earbuds with it, it still keeps you wireless from the detector. So sorry I should have thought of it.
The quality of the Headphones leaves much to be desired. For what you pay for the Detector the Headphones should have been far better. I tried some of the ML105'S on at a dealers , they are comfortable yes but they seem flimsy cheap china made headphones more for listening to music on than for metal detecting.
I use some older Grey Ghost Ultimates. They are the best ones I've ever used, and I've used a bunch over 40 years. I can hear little nuances with them that a cheap pair just won't reproduce. Everyone's ears are different, though. I can say with confidence that high-quality headphones are money well spent.
Thank You! One thing: to save auto connecting, never turn off headphones first, first turned off must be the detector.

Can I use the headphones in the rain or detecting in waist deep water

If I do a factory reset will I have to redownload the update for the headphones?
Once an update is done, it will not be removed by a factory reset.
What does it mean when there is a long high pitched tone in the headphones?

When googled it says the ml105 headphones are waterproof.

Manticore headphones are to big and to hot how do u use different headset like earbuds ect
