That was a great episode! I always learn something from you. It has given me a lot of confidence that I can add a rag-top to my bug. That dash replacement job is going to FUN to watch!
Yes buddy it came out really great. Especially for the first time. Also it was a lot easier than I thought. The dash is going to be a little harder I think. I’ll have to modify a few things to make it work. I will be installing a 63 steering column which will have to be shortened and attached to the 72 steering joint. Have a great night. Ty for the comment and support.

@@louishanley9627hello Louis, thanks for the nice comment. It’s great communicating with like minded people. It is very rewarding repairing and bringing back one of these amazing cars. Hope you get the firewall soon. Enjoy the build!
Great job Dave and thanks for sharing. I’ve done the whole bottom 8” of Beetles over the years and you’ve given me the confidence to do the roof. I don’t know why but it always seemed so drastic cutting a great big hole in a perfect roof, but get your measurements wrong or don’t brace the body well enough when doing pans or channels and you’re in a whole world of hurt, so the roof, I’ll give it a go. It’s a 2025, at least, job for me. I could really do with updating my compressor and welder, especially as my mig is gas less, does the job just a lot of splatter. I’ve got a pan, channel and front quarter to do first anyway. Keep it up, you’ll have painted before your son does his 😂
Hello Philip, again great hearing from you. It was much easier than I thought. I was pretty nervous at first. Once I got into it I was happy I did it. The main thing is think things out first and don’t be in a hurry. I upgraded my compressor. I bought a 60gallon on market place. I like gas with the mig, I think it’s easier to work with. Cleaner. Easier to control. Again my friend happy to hear from you again. Bugs are a great hobby or habit not sure which. Ha! Have a good day.

@@busterstravels1534 that was very nice of you. I’ll never forget that. I can’t wait to bring it up on the video for Friday. I’ll make sure to send folks to your channel, I really enjoy watching, my friend, and it was a pleasure meeting you.
@@SladesVWBeetleWow! thanks again buddy. That’s very nice of you. I wanted to talk more at your club meeting but realized how busy you were. Hello Zimms, it was kinda easy. You just have to take your time and be patient. Do a little at a time. You have to give yourself credit, if you want something bad enough you can always figure it out. I friend taught me to start with what you know and then figure the rest out. I do some research too. Thanks for the comment. Have a great night. Come back for the dash conversation, should be interesting. 👍
Dave, Looking good!
