It was a well planned default scam. Amazon asked to audit future retail loan books but future retail denied and signed the deal with reliance. So Amazon went to court to take back their investment, some insiders say Biyani took money under the table from reliance and forced future retail to fail rather than selling it to reliance competitior Amazon.

If future retail is under liquidation how can Biyani decide who should he sell to? The banks will take the best possible deal

    • @WiseDecisions
      @WiseDecisions 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@mariachi9093 most ironic thing is banks voted against reliance and forced it for liquidation, reliance took it's all contracts and important asset under table for throw away price. Dig more this was a well planned and orchestrated scam. The most important thing banks didn't want was a 27000cr deal going through, they voted against the deal and got their individual share of benefits. The public lost money, investors lost money, Amazon learned lessons, Biyani made 🤑. Just do some research, I've lost my investment in future retail and many did. These thugs looted without any mercy. In these elections I voted and campaigned against the BJP. BJP is more dangerous than Congress.

Biyani is a Legend in many ways.
He pioneered Modern India way back in 2000, with Pantaloons, when I visited their store in Calcutta.
I was working in a mall in Lucknow in 2006, and I personally saw the neverending ques at Big Bazaar and the army of of employees they employed in their stores.

Main problem of Big Bazar was, he used to keep only one Companies products, specially the spices and nuts. You must keep the customer to choose from different suppliers and also keeping more profit margin. Many things were not available always, even the spices. Even Reliance does the same. They always blame the supplier. Products also of low quality. Mostly in Sindhi and Marwadi supermarkets sell the products of low quality. Look at Lulu Hypermarkets. They sell the products of highest quality with low profit margin, and they plenty of choices in the same product. That's why no one can beat them. Slowly slowly Lulu will take over all over Indian market and should be. They know the supermarket buisness.

    Hello Shankar,
great video. I stumbled on this video by mistake, which does not make me regret my 15 minutes. just small recommendations and suggestions:
    1. Back your analysis with data sources and properly mapped and scaled charts and numbers. A vague chart graphic will get you nowhere in getting a proper repeatable audience
    2. Bring your microphone a little down, so that the audience can actually look at your complete face while you are speaking. Doesn't really add any informative value, but it plays a major role in forming connections with your audience
    3. (You might want to ignore this depending on your format) Add clips of Biyani talking about his business model from other sources like his interviews with Kamath and Raj podcasts as well
Well scripted and a great video. You earned me as your subscriber

How KB, as he is nicknamed," Rajah of Indian Retail" failed and annihilated for a trivial blunder of his own theory.
He Kishor Biyani had a written agreement with Amazon while selling 49% stake in future coupons that he will have to offer sale proposal to Amazon first in the future if it is required. KB can sell to other entity if he, Amazon, refuses to buy.
How he agreed to such a clause ?
If he knew the clause very well, he could have approached the Amazon to sell off entire Future Group at an exorbitant value which Amazon may have refused. After that he could have dealt with Reliance.
    Two take away :
1.Agreement with Amazon was miscalculated and thoughtless of its consequences.
2.Approaching the Reliance to sell the company despite the agreement with Amazon was the final death nail.
Miscalculation, overconfidence and debt negligence can turn future to past.
    Great case study.

If jio has not cleverly overtaken bigbazaar, amazon would have taken it. The culprit was Amazon. Future was running out of cash and Amazon who is a share holder obstructed every effort of FEL to raise money strangling FEL to death. Amazon India despite this unethical act used its soft power to avoid blame and instead jio got the blame

Very well explained. I understand now that the business model of DMart is far better than bigbazaar. Renting huge spaces at exorbitant prices (adding COVID to the mix) probably caused the downfall. But don't you think Future group could have bounced back had it not been for COVID? Could shutting down of some outlets helped? I was surprised to see a huge Bigbazaar outlet in Hyderabad renamed to Reliance. Thanks for making this video.

So if a normal businessman borrows beyond his means and goes bankrupt, he is treated with contempt and disgust by the society whereas if you are a big businessman, get greedy and get thousands of crores of unmanageable debt and go bankrupt you are still respected, can still go around in your suits and give advice to others, live a high end lifestyle, etc just because you took the debt in the name of a company and not yourself and you are not liable… Great!

Ambani himself should be punished for acting like a crook, which in reality all business people are. The court should intervene and stop Reliance who has used the back door, not only to prevent from Amazon obtaining their rightful claim of first refusal, but also throttling the actual business owner with his abnoxious practises.
