The Afternoon Concert runs approximately 6 minutes longer than the evening show, but the evening concert is superior than the afternoon performance. 😊
    Nice presentation. 😊

@@sincerelyelvispresley It’s a fantastic concert, no doubt, but Elvis’s voice skips on several of the tracks in this show, whereas in the evening performance he is so tight and “On Point”, vocally, it’s pure perfection.
Some of his best vocal work he ever did!!! 😊

    Hello, Sean!
I tenderly love the 1972 amateur shoot at Madison Square Garden (Wheat suit with lemon scarf - mmmmm.... 😊); and its grain is so beautiful and the way it is interrupted by black shots - everything in it seems perfect to me (and Elvis 💣... words are powerless here 😵‍💫) - such a small and sooooo beautiful film, just a masterpiece. And whenever I watch these videos, I think how catastrophically little he was filmed professionally... - can you imagine how cool it would be if they did professional filming of a couple of concerts at the beginning of each tour (well, or almost every one), when he is rested, tanned, ready to move mountains and change the trajectories of planets in the universe, etc... Can you imagine... what happiness it would be for us... 🥺
And, of course, always, always my personal endless, endless gratitude to those brave people who brought their video cameras and saved these precious moments!
(I understand that all this is an emptiness of words, but since we are given words, we need to use them at least occasionally 😆)
Thank you so much, Sean, for providing impeccable material! 🌟👌
    🌿

Hi Sean, I saw Billy Joel at The Garden last year. Tried to imagine Elvis there. I have the Paul Lichter book covering the Garden. I can’t see me being able to get the KJ book. Recently saw one sold on eBay for £675. Like you say, it is supply and demand.
The Ziggy Atmos mix on blu-ray is great btw.
    Cheers, Gary

Thinking before, not during the piano man. I imagine it’s been upgraded greatly since Elvis - probably for the basketball. Great comfy seats with drinks holders etc. BJ holds the appearance record for MSG. I think it’s around 150 concerts. He had a monthly residency until end of last year.

    Hey Sean 👋
That book is and has been top of my wanted list for a while now ....would love to own it !!
Great period/ weekend in Elvis career....always loved MSG !
I think some of the art work and cover shots were quite poor after 71/72 ! No sleeve notes / recording dates etc .....poor for me !
RCAs biggest selling artist in 74/75 was John Denver ( I'm a fan 🙄) .....all his album releases were on gatefold albums ....with inlay sleeves and lots of info ....and concert pics where appropriate!
Why weren't Elvis 70s releases done in the same way ??
I have a good collection of MSG .....Great Great shows !
    Should have been recorded 😪!!!
    Great video...
    Cheers 🎶🎙🥂

Hey Paul, it's a shame the book isn't more widely available, I think they limit certain titles too heavily. Completely agree about the album covers, but we know the photos used were all down to Parker being a control freak, and mean with it and that control almost certainly extended to dictating how the product should be presented. He pretty much had RCA over a barrel. Interesting to think how all the releases might have looked had he not been such a miserable old skinflint!

    • @paulmogg8036
      @paulmogg8036 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@sincerelyelvispresley Yes completely agree on Parker 😡🤡!!
Baffling to me why Elvis wasn't stronger and took control of his own destiny! He carnt have been happy with some of the releases....
Who ever chose the picture for the Aloha album 🙄 ....but have been the worst picture taken in 72 !
Could and should have been so much better Sean !!
Parker never changed his marketing techniques from way back in the 1940s .....really pisses me off !!
Elvis was some what in free fall moud after Aloha for me anyway !
Are you on social media Sean ?
      Cheers 🎶🎙🥂

@paulmogg8036 you've hit on the crux of the matter right there I think Paul, why did Elvis allow it to happen again and again? Funnily enough, I recorded the 73 episodes this weekend and touched on both of the points you've just mentioned. You'll find me on Instagram as ziggypresley 😊

@ROCKINGMAN that would have been amazing. I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that Elvis liked the Ziggy Stardust character because it reminded him of a comic book superhero, but I've never been able to find that reference again. I've toyed with doing an episode talking about all the crossovers between both artists' careers, but I'm not sure how much interest there'd be in it
