2017 Husq TX300 with a Lectron. Perfect 100% of the time from sea level to 10,000'. I can be in 3rd gear at a walking pace and slam the throttle to the stops and hold it and the Lectron picks up without any hesitation or blubbering all the way to redline. Power delivery is a little smoother and mileage increased 40%. I love it. If you ride different elevations and climates from day to day it is invaluable.
Lectrons seem to work really well. I have never used one, but I plan on picking one up one of these days. I love how the two strokes get better and better with technologies like this. Definitely a great way to compete with TPI. It would be great if a manufacturer started putting Lectrons on as standard equipment. I have been looking at both Lectron and SmartCarb. Where i ride, in Idaho, I jet my bike for around 4,000ft. This becomes a problem below 2,500 and above 7,000ft. The benefit of having a carb that can compensate is priceless.
I have to agree that my lectrons have been outstanding carburetors with one exception.. The company's rod selection/recommendation for my applications. I have always found a better performing rod grind for my needs. Also, if you call for tech support, ask for David or Kevin. Much easier to work through issues with over the phone than Brooks. Don't let this "nice guy" interview fool you. If you call with a bit of frustration in your voice, Brooks will be nothing but patronizing and short with you. I have had better customer service calls with medical insurance and my cell service provider.
Kevin is the real tech guy in the whole lectron operation. Brooks is an arrogantly demeanored, fake tech guy, with zero patience & no customer service skills. He really is harming Lectrons customer service. Just put him in a cubical doing his finance thing.
Wish I saw this earlier, I had one and took it off after hours of failed tuning. It’s worthless to me. If anyone wants one I will sell for a great deal.
@@LGguedo Yeah no, something aint right. I bought the Lectron carb for a reason. That is to start the 02 YZ250F a lot faster. It used to take 10 to 15 minutes to start it. With lectron carb, its 15 to 40 kicks when it sits too long, but its like 2 or 3 kicks when everything is fresh. I barely needed to tune anything, so go back and finish reading the manual. Reset your tuning offset and do 1/4 turn left or right AFTER you get it started. If you can't start your bike at all then its not the lectron, its something else.
westwing23 my bike started fine, but couldn’t dial it in properly. I followed lots of instructions, and also called support and slavins who I got it from. Bike lurched and didn’t like the power band. I am not alone, I have shared this story and hard same from others. Glad it worked well for your application.
@@LGguedo interesting.. What do you ride? I did have an issue with the carb, i drained the fuel and took the tube out that connects to the bowl. Then i sprayed a good amount WD40 in there and blew into it with an air gun. After that, the bike worked perfectly.
And if you bought one in late May (when they knew a carb for newer KTM's were about to be released), you're stuck with a flat bottom end, with no upgrade path available.
Lectron was my biggest regret of anything I've put on my bike. Although Lectron has been around since the 70's, the owners are new. The guy who invented Lectron is now behind Smart Carb, so do the math.
ordered a lectron off your website, put it on my 250sx and runs great at the track and fast trails. but when doing slow and uphill trails sometimes it feels like its bogging out and have very little power almost wanting to turn off. any ideas on what to adjust for that?

You should try out the STIC metering block for the PWK carb. Maybe do something on that

I know what one I liked better and currently have on my bike. Sure is nice to make you're small rod adjustments without even getting off the bike.

you should do a comparison on the smart carb vs lectron on a 300 or 250
So, they have some things for 2020, I think I'll wait till then and see what they have in store.....

If you got the legacy (pre H-series) that's just how they run.
I think kyle has only sold the "HV" & "H" series carbs for the short time he has been doing it. Don't recall any legacy carbs on his web page.
