Saw it last weekend and he was fantastic. He doesn't really look like Enzo, but his performance was incredibly natural, and I felt like he really nailed it.
No flash, no scandal, great intelligence and a great actor.

I love everything Adam Driver does! An incredible actor!
I feel the other way around, he ruined both "The Last Duel" and "Star Wars" for me. The latter was ruined anyway by the script and direction, but "The Last Duel" could have been a much better movie with someone else playing Jacques.

Lindsey Davis- very good interview, great questions. It’s obvious Adam is a very focused actor and cares about his craft and the character he plays. Immediately I felt I was watching Enzo himself and not an actor playing a part.
I sat in the movie theater for two hours watching this movie and didn't know it was Adam Driver. I'm glad I didn't because then all I would see is the actor.
Also when he says "this is 1957 so it's pre-psychology, so they came up with their own coping mechanisms" - that's a perfect way to describe why I love movies about that time period, because it's interesting to imagine what it was like to live in a time where people told you to "rug some dirt in it" when you were going through hell in your mind. Some stories it's overwhelming how angry it makes me when I'm feeling empathy for a character going through a horrible time, and sometimes it's fun because no one knows or understands what some characters are really thinking (so they can get away with crimes and whatnot) and sometimes it shows how people could have loved so much deeper, because they're the only two in the whole world that understand each other.

Loved the film… Adam was fantastic. All the actors were brilliant and brilliant direction. Will definitely see this one again.
Adam Driver is an excellent actor, it will be interesting to see him as Enzo Ferrari.

Minnie Driver
The first time I saw Adam Driver's face was when he took off his mask as Kylo-Ren in Star Wars and I remember thinking "I don't like this man." And now he's one of my favorite actors. He's just incredible in every movie he does and he chooses them so well; I don't think I've seen a bad Adam Driver movie. It always impresses me when an actor can go from "I don't like him" to one of my favorites, most actors you like because they're attractive but they're not quite as good as the hype - the opposite is quite difficult to pull off but Adam did it in like 3 years, for me at least lol.
A facinating history.
I really thought the lead actor in this movie was an Italian man in his 50s. I was so suprised to read after it that he was the guy was Star Wars, American and in his early 40s!
Why didnt they get Mesut Ozil to play Enzo Ferrari?

Until this movie, I had never heard of Adam Driver. I would have thought they'd have found somebody who looks more like Ferrari himself.
Brilliant acting
The Ford vs Ferrari movie describes Enzo very well as Adam is. He nearly drove the company into bankruptcy when Ford came along with a bailout that he turned down. This led to the rise of Carroll Shelby arguably an equally great race car and car builder, then Ford beating them at LeMans.
I found it interesting how differently both movies depicted that series of events. Ford V Ferrari simply portrayed it as Enzo snubbing Ford in the midst of negotiations, while Ferrari implied that Enzo initiated the Ford rumors through a false news story to light a fire under Fiat to get them to the table so they could "keep it Italian". Would be interested to hear how that all really went down.

How is that suddenly America is so interested in Iconic Italian people and culture? In reverse it would be bizarre, think of how absurd it would be if we Italian would do films about Ford or steel barons or the founder of Vogue. Maybe the interest for Hollywood is just to spina narrative.
They have to make period films to avoid having to put blacks in them, and lose money.
There's more drama and intrigue to pull from, more characters as well. Protestants just don't make good stories lol

He is a good actor but miscast as Enzo.
I think that he was quite good. I shook the hand of Sr. Ferrari in 1984, in a very brief FIAT meeting. Adam nailed it.

I stood in a line of FIAT people.
He was quite ailing so it was very quick. Camera with the photo talen stolen out of our car in Torino on C/so Vitt Emanuele II, along with our luggage, etc.
I would much rather have that film, as I took some shots at Bertone of the Rainbow, Marzal, and Stratos Prototipo.
I like how she asks if he'd do a Comedy and he says he hasn't been offered one - that's because there ARE NONE lol. Ever since the wokeness happened, no one makes good comedies anymore.
I do not care for this guy. Self absorbed and far from ca convincing Enzo Ferrari.
Aside from that, too much conjecture in the film and lots of misinformation.
Wow Adam is too tall, too young, too good looking and his accent is not even close. regardless they made a good and entertaining beautiful movie.

LOL though I like Driver as an actor, the fact that actors are totally uncurious/uninterested about the subject matter they're portraying baffles me sometimes. Like how can you sell a role playing an Italian, trying to pass an Italian accent at that, and seemingly don't even bother to study a simple pronunciation lol
