Thank you so much for this! I cried when I saw the lava, and the paths it took, its super impressive it brings tears to my eyes. The cave also feels new.
Longest and deepest _known._ Who knows what longer and deeper ones might still be waiting to be found? Wear boots that are not too hard to re-sole, because you will use up a sole on one visit! The Big Island has very strict regulations on septic systems, but if your lot has a lava tube running under it, any plumber there will sign off on a pipe just emptying into it.
And all this time, 74 years of life, I thought the longest lava tube was maybe a mile long or so. Thanks for another stunning presentation, Derek.
How are you doing? 76 now?
Awesome. I never knew I wanted to go there until now. Great work.
You really give a good visual feel to what the cave is like. How long you reckon it would take to hike the full length of the cave?

Well, that is certainly disappointing. Imagine “discovering” a cave like that. Kind of a shitty adventure.
Wow, that's one light sucking cave! Imagine doing that with Carbide Lamps! Beautiful though.
Super interesting
Good stuff 🤙🏽
