Mammoth Cave 405.00 Brownsville, Kentucky, United States the longest cave. The Clearwater Cave System is considered to be the interconnected cave system with the largest volume in the world. The Hang Son Doong cave in Vietnam has the largest room.
The Sarawak Chamber is the largest cave chamber by area..
Love that you can hear the bats echo-location clicks!
Neighborhood Car Reviews Actually, most of that is the echolocating clicks of Bornean Swiftlets.
@@DerekBristol Oh. That actually makes sense, actually. Still really cool.
Another awesome vid Derek!👍
As always ! Wonderful videos 😍
REHAMNIA Baraa Thanks!
Bravo, Derek!
And thanks for the equipment list.
Consider the NSS Video Salon...
Alex Sproul Yes, I know. Dave has been pestering me for a couple of years now. I just need to make something good. Next summer...
I love massive open caves like this. I wish utah had more
it’s The Sarawak Chamber..largest by area..
Miao Room in China is largest by volume..
I wouldn't have believed you if he hadn't said: "never say never"...
Fantastic. Very special trip.
Great video. What lights do you use for example at 2:43 (or 5:37). It is a big chamber and you have a perfect light for filming.
I'm using a single Zebralight with the full-flood optic. I'm using the MkIV with high CRI LEDs. For most lighting I'm using it on H2 (high, level 2 - about 1,000 lumens). For really big chambers I sometimes boost it to H1 (about 1,600 lumens), but it won't stay on this setting for long. I hold the camera in my right hand and the light in my left to add a little depth to the lighting.
@@DerekBristol many thanks for your response

Good story! What was the goals of the expedition, never saw that mentioned?
Gary Beasley This first video in the series gives a little more context about the expedition goals, but on a high level it is science and exploration. th-cam.com/video/FMvl4bd_HNU/w-d-xo.html
Have you been to any Missouri caves ?
That Sơn đồng?
Is it difficult to get caving permits in the park?
We were on expedition with a research permit. There are guided trips to Lagangs Cave, Clearwater, Cave of the Winds, Nasib Bagus, and Deer Cave. I think it's fairly easy to visit most of these. Nasib Bagus (Sarawak Chamber) requires good weather.
Nice video bruh
I was there in 2003, mostly exploring Cobweb cave, in G. Benerat, and trying to raise the woeful standards of surveying :-) It's a remarkable place. I recognise Hazel, Elaine and Judith in your team, and messrs Tully and Williams. Caving is a small world :-) Very hard to justify the emissions from such long-distance travel these days when you have caves closer to home.
A great group!
What brand are those big yellow backpacks?
Those are the Petzl Transport 45L packs. I can't really recommend them. They were disintegrating after just a few weeks of use. The bottom panel of one pack completely failed during one of the camp trips. The seams and lower panels of several other packs were on the verge of failing.
@@DerekBristol is there a similarly sized pack that you would recommend?
@@HankMeyer Haven't really found a camp pack I'm thrilled with. The GGG Cheve is what I use in Lechuguilla. It's a bit on the large side, but it's a great value. Looking at MTDE. They appear to make a good product and I'm thinking about getting the 60L Sherpa.
Just wait until you meet somebody with a thick Gaelic influenced accent Derek. English gets a lot more incomprehensible than this!
I thought Mammoth Cave was the largest?
Mammoth Cave is the “longest”
👍👍👍
loud , loud ,music!😢
