”You would make a good Dalek” is the biggest roast a Dalek could say, since they’re biologically genocidal.

It didn't show u the darkest bit!!! When the guy said, "we found out why the doctor, who had fought with gods and demons, why he ran away... he was being kind".. what the doctor does as revenge to the baddies is pretty dark!!!!!

Also when ten says ‘he’s gone too far’
probably the most morbid thing from a family show

Yeah there are dark and funny stuffs, but I think darker parts of him are so fascinating to watch, especially with those great actors playing that role.

When David tennate is mentioning "he could do so much more" he is referring to the fact that if he saves the old man he will die instead and change. And he doesn't want to change because it means he won't be the same person anymore and he's scared of "disappearing"

    • @FahadAyaz
      @FahadAyaz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This Doctor doesn't think he's survive though. He thinks he's going to actually die with a tiny chance that he'll regenerate instead.

    • @Yaapo
      @Yaapo ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@FahadAyazNah, sure he'd survive. But 10 had vanity issues so he was scared to regenerate into a whole new person.

@@Yaapo It has nothing to do with vanity, he thinks he will only have one more regeneration after this.

Matt Smith is so intense, it's scary at times watching him do that. I wonder how dark is he gonna be as Daemon Targaryen, The Rogue Prince in upcoming HoTD.

Exactly so many people only remember him as the funny silly doctor but personally I always thought he was at his best in these dark moments. I feel like matt plays an old man in a young body so well too

It's crazy how much I was against Matt Smith because I couldn't handle David Tennant leaving, but now 11th doctor era is my favourite era ever. I freaking love matt Smiths doctor, I freaking love the ponds, I freaking love river. I freaking miss that era.

For context, that, "Coward or killer?" scene is in the Ninth Doctor's final episode. He can wipe out the Daleks (at the time, the only Daleks in the universe; long story), but to do so he'd have to, well, exterminate all life on Earth. It's deliberately set up to parallel the choice he made previously to destroy the Time Lords and the Daleks to save the universe from their war, facing him with that same crushing moral dilemma he'd just spent a whole season redeeming himself from.
EDIT: By the way, it's so cool to see you getting your feet under you with this show by now! Within the span of a couple months, you've gone from knowing nothing but the barest of bare bones of the premise to talking about it like you've watched multiple seasons, and all without ever seeing a (full) episode! Haha, it's kind of awesome!

What was chilling about Seven is that, while Ten or Eleven or indeed most Doctors could be intense when they got mad, he could be putting things in motion to make you suffer horribly without even breaking from casual conversation.

It cut out like half of the fury of the time lord speech, what happened is the father was wrapped in chains forged in the heart of a star, the mother was put in a black hole, the sister was trapped in a mirror every mirror, and the bother was frozen in time and put to work overlooked and protecting the fields of London as a scarecrow

Yes you are right, the show is not all dark, but when it does get dark, at least for me, it gets 10 trillion times more interesting and engaging.
Not that I don’t enjoy the Doctor when he/she’s more comedic, but it makes for so much more a complex interesting character when things get serious.
Especially the Time Lord Victorious stuff, Tennant’s power hungry acting is too good to ignore.

I think one of my favorites is...
Madame Kovarian : The anger of a good man is not a problem. Good men have too many rules.
The Doctor : Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many.

the Doctor actors are very nuanced in their acting and their voice modulates a lot. especially Matt Smith. his deliveries can be breathy and murmur type. it's part of his authoritative persona to switch it up. he catches people off guard and gives himself an advantage to direct a given interaction.
when you discuss things (which i really enjoy), if you don't stop the vid you won't experience the impact.
DW can be epic in its most innocuous moments. you missed a really important onf at 8:24 where he tells House that he should fear him cz he killed all the Timelords.
Matt Smith is considered "the man who forgets" while David Tennant is dubbed as "the man who regrets".
when Eleventh talks about the time war it's significant cz he's endured so much he just wants to stop its reality.
    tangent'y:
he can't take the fact that he committed genocide of two populations, anymore. so he uses his darker experiences to intimate and exert control over a given sitch; all the while ignoring the Time War.
btw, I hope I'm not coming off too harsh. my intention isn't to critique your reaction. as a fan of DW I want you to enjoy the show to its fullest if you're not gonna watch this show itself.
it's exactly this reason that makes me dislike fan edits w music overlay or overzealous meme edits that put Marvel 's shitty humor to shame.
especially cz DW is known for its score, just like GoT. the orchestral climax when the Doctor delivers one of his painful speeches is truly glorious. Murray Gold is genius on par with Ramin Djawadi.
    cheers 😊

Twice upon a time actually has an explanation behind the doctor 'cause there's a moment where the"Original doctor"
Says why he started his journey that it was because good though we Aspire to be it. is not a good survival strategy. So why does good succeed?
And a former companion says that maybe it's just some bloke in a box putting things right.

I never understand why people get people to react to stuff like this when you haven’t even seen the show. There’s no context, no meaning, nothing to relate to, it’s just meaningless jumble of words and clips
    What’s the point?
