i honestly think the differences between the two pistols is so moot, and that they are effectively the same in reliability, with the DB having the better edge.
when i look at the way i usually play the game as Officer, which is “tryhard frontliner with the sabre” i don’t really feel a big difference between them, its just that i can do more with the DB.
if i REALLY need to reload, i just let my teammates handle it for a moment before getting back to the front. if i’m alone or most of my team are dead, i probably wouldn’t be able to reload either pistol anyway, and even then in those situations, i’d probably just prefer to stick to my melee instead of pulling out the gun. especially after all my solo skills practice with the sabre.

I think the DB is ok in objective modes but on endless mode, it’s incredibly amazing to use! like when you’re trying to get the hidden achievement on the endless maps, it’s good and reliable to use it for the game on endless.
I'm kind of new at guts and blackpowder and I still don't know a lot about the differences between some of the weapons, but this video helped a lot! Thank you ❤

For me, the DB Pistol is a mixed bag (Coming from someone with experience)
It’s great for the extra shot, and it’s toggle feature. But the accuracy leaves a lot of be desired. Bias since I’ve been using just the pistol? Maybe, but it’s up to you. (I mean the people behind the screens) to decide, it’s your own play style so own it!

6:06 my best guess as to what happens here is that the game checks the first hit target for headshot resistance. And if they don't the bullet will ignore resistances, i personally believe after the bullet peirces a target it becomes a completely new projectile which doesn't check for resistances.
two options,
1. the script to check for bullet resistance is in the bullet itself and it only checks it for the first zombie but doesnt for any other.
2. the script is in the zapper and whenever the bullet pierces a zed it changed to another projectile that is named diffrently and so the script doesnt detect it and doesnt apply the damage reduction.
honestly do belive its the second one since putting the script in the bullet itself is kind of stupid.

It depends of who is playing the officer. For example, I use an officer for meleeing and I don't use the pistol much. Basically, I shoot my pistol, melee the zombies, when it's clear, reload. The only exception is Paris (like you said), on the Vardohus I use the cannons and on Leipzig and San Sebastian I use the same tactic (shoot, melee, reload). That is why I think that DB pistol would suite me.
(On Kaub I use the fifer or line infantry)

The DB Pistol shines a bit for clearing tight groups of them at a time, especially in catacombes during the "escape the catacombes" objective which forces you to go through corridors lined up with infected.
AND considering the ridiculous amount of bombers still in Vardohus, its fairly useful as the map is mostly close quarters and the gun should still be in range.
Very nice, accurate, and informative video. In my experimentation with the DB on Leipzig solos (my favorite thing in gb!!!!!!), i've found it's finnicky reload checkpoint a struggle. Additionally, it probably has the best example of just how piss poor the accuracy and range is on this gun. At the debris barricades, if you get quite a few zombies alllll the way down the street past it, try standing in front of the debris and shooting them. It takes forever to kill even 1 shambler. the pistol, while it still struggles at times, at least is ABLE to do it in a timely manner. (the musket being the best)
Its a better example than paris's end because of how low the shambler hp is, and how its even closer, against STILL TARGETS. So it's certainly a balanced gun. I've seen my friends who aren't exactly godly players using the DB in small servers... they can indeed be quite the workhorse with it. It's a great gun, at alot of levels of skill. It just doesnt appeal to me, and i've had enough times where i struggle to decide which is a more practical choice, so its certainly balanced. I'm mostly just letting my take flow out into the comments... so i'll wrap it up: this is a good, accurate video.

I agree it should be 2000 it's pretty balanced on the damage but I'm not really a fan of the price since grinding francs is unsure especially if you have bad teammates and can't even finish a objective map thus slowing your francs grind. I mean Endless exist I know but I feel like it's a lot worth of your time doing Hardcore objectives but like I said. It's unsure if you get the win or not.

Hey, could you do a tierlist? I think it would be very helpful to know what is good and what isn't as great in certain situations.
A tactic I use is that as soon as I see the second barrel loaded, I take it away and equip it straight away to (I think) decrease reloading time

I have to say It mostly depends on the server size. Like if your in a server with say 7 on endless your team mates may need the pistol and to be more active

as a officer main i have to say that half the time i just treat DB officer like it was line inf but with 2 shots
In my opinion I feel like db is just pistol but with two shots. I use it, i think it’s ok. Quick tip the little image on the right, with the two holes, wait until the both holes or one hole are gray depending on you. then un equip then equip then. I think it saves a little time I will test
I like the double barrel pistol. When I'm line infantry, I would focus sniping bombers (usually). But, sometimes bombers get past me due to my long reload. I like having the db pistol cause it allows me to be a fail-safe option incase my teamates fail. I know it works with the regular pistol, but the db guarantees I get them all. Also, the reduced accuracy isn't a problem for me since I usually end up shooting them close range and the low graphics I have makes it hard for me to shoot far in catacomb's final stage.

I didn’t know where to say this so, I’m going to explain the worst loss I’ve experienced on San Sebastián, here it is: so 4 us us were defending the town road, when the sapper was building some random dude activated the wave, two runners came, from the front, and a couple shamblers from the back, my brother and the sapper were both grabbed by the shamblers, and then when I went to save them, I got tackled by a runner, and the the only dude who could save me was a seaman, he shot the runner as he got tackled by one so he missed, and then more shamblers came from the back and killed the sapper and my brother.
( runners came after my brother and sapper were grabbed )

1:31 Yeah but the pistols not supposed to be used as a long range weapon, I personally think the devs gave the officer the pistol as a way for them to kill bombers or enemies that would be challenging with their saber, as the main thing about the officer is their saber.

Id personally dont disagree though i neither agree with your opinion.
I personally use the officer class for frontlining and usually only use the sabre due to it's reliability and RAGHHHHH, i believe that the pistol or db is supposed to be a neat addition to the more melee focused class. Pistol isnt supposed to be used as a long range sniper, rather a quick way to deal with bombers getting too close due to your INCOMPITENT! Raghhh!!! teammates.
Now i spoke about the officer class as a whole, and the db is a nice upgrade if you use the class like me, focusing 80% of my time with sabre, and rarely using my gun unless i have time to clear smth like bombers in the town part in san
And also due to how i use this class, close ranged, the range difference doesnt matter much because im in their face essentially which i believed you touched on
Yes i understand the video is on the db and not the officer class itself, focusing strictly on the db, and guns arent really that effective due to the need for reloading making you vulnerable for that time

I agree with you with DB, i at first was really hyped for it, but the more I thought of it the more I realised how unpractical it can be. I’m not saying it is bad, I have change my opinion but still, the accuracy and other stuff I won’t get into are something I don’t really like. Most of the things I don’t like is pretty much explained in this video.
reload checkpoints are incredibly important even tho they are ignored often, without them nock gun literally couldnt exist

Hello 2fore2 i might know what happened in the zapper headshot resistance Avoidance
First i think when the bullet pen the head the damage multiplies and it will ignore any headshot resistance since it just had an headshot meaning that any headshot resistance is probably set to false or since you shot a zombie and multipies the damage if probably just adds the damage and kills the zapper instanly

Or option 4 where you run dead center into the horde, get tackled by a runner, and then he saved by the bomber you ran in to bait
Option 4 is my go to as medic
It literally feels like a direct upgrade to the pistol. The slower reload time, less damage and the reduced accuracy hardly make a difference. The DB pistol alone makes the idea of having linemen on your team to snipe bombers useless. You can do what they do, but faster and you can kill 2 bombers before reloading. Also, I don't agree with using the normal pistol to be more active. If you want to be active while still using your gun than you should be a navyman, you can get yourself out of situations that you normally wouldn't with a pistol. Even the DB pistol is better for being much more active, being able to shoot multiple zombies before needing to reload is just too good to give up, you can shoot 2 bombers in a horde if you are forced to kite, which is better than shooting 1 bomber and being forced to reload. In conclusion, the DB should possibly be nerfed, it's literally a direct upgrade to the regular pistol while offering downsides that make very little difference. (Also, you can skip the final animation of you putting your ramrod back into it's place by just putting your gun away and taking it back out. This makes reloading slightly faster.) One more thing, the officer is literally a hybrid class and you can just... Choose to not use the pistol, and just use your saber instead. Nothing is forcing you to even use your gun.

Pretty much the only downside to this gun for me (I’m an officer main who uses it) is the decreased accuracy, it makes sniping bombers in the back of the catacombs and vardo ending a LITTLE harder but it’s not really that much. So in my opinion I think it’s a SMALL upgrade to the normal one

personally im the officer main who just never uses his weapon unless if theres a bomber near or a big crowd near a bomber and personaly ive never had problems with less accuracy so im still going to main db pistol
