Jacob does not “Blow himself up”. His massive balls of steel redirected the explosion, but unfortunately knocked him out. He then woke up, soloed an entire zombie horde, then left by punching a wall so hard it vaporized.
To be fair, Kaub is the only location where soldiers are actually retaking a position from the undead. Every other location, you are running away from it. And considering the pontoon bridge sank, I doubt the undead will actually be able to get in after the victory there, meaning that kaub could really be the only safe haven at the moment.
Huh, didn’t think of it that way, but it’s an unsustainable gain if they can’t get any more resources, they only have as many as is on the cart, which didn’t have a lot of “edible” things like food and water
They could've start fishing, make a makeship boat with the resources and with salt water, fire, a bucket or pot with any cloth is possible to make clean water
Not necessarily true. Kaub takes place after the escape of Leipzig there isn't much Info where the French and Swedish forces went but in my Theory they either join the Ottomans or run to Switzerland, the rest of the Survivors hid in the Church where the zombies don't really swarm it unless a survivor is discovered there. So someone probably suggest us to run and stay in the Castle so they pick up some Pillows, bed sheets, Muskets, and Etc. they push the cart since the undead is literally everywhere. They shot the cannon and retake the Castle. Did they retake Kaub? No, but only the Castle.
Fun fact: When Jacob appeared as the first real character in the first objective map Leipzig, he didn’t have a cannon name. It all started from players mourning this fallen soldier by calling him names such as Jack, Jason, maybe even Jimmy. But only one name really stuck: Jacob. I was one of the players who helped spread his name back when Guts and Blackpowder only had two maps.
Guts and blackpowder is a rare type of game knowing 99% of zombie game is set in modern or future. Modern soldier struggles to figth a zombie horde even tho they got full equipment. Now imagine a soldier from 1800s trying to figth of a horde with musket and blades. Its one of a kind

not from heaven, but from hell, however that piece of lore is not exactly sound yet otherwise there’d be zombies in britain and america, which we havent heard of yet
One interesting fact about all of this, is that the infection most probably didn't spread past Europe, since it's been confirmed the zombies don't know how to swim (this is proven in San Sebastian and Kaub's bridge part) however it's uncertain how the zombies may react in hot temperatures, since as seen in Vardohus, they can withstand very low temperatures with seemingly no problem. Also, Sleepy Hollow is non-cannon.
Interesting. Idk if they’d really survive the Middle East if they’re not tolerant in heat but a good question non the less, what about eastern Russia? We’ll see. Also I know it’s not cannon which is why it’s not included in this part, I will talk about it in the 2nd part though

Jacob was actually supposed to go with the survivors to the bridge, he was given the idea of walking back, and throwing the torch at the barrel. And then escaping with the survivors. But since the dev whos animating worked on him at midnight, it was late and he was tired so he just killed him off. So yeah. His death was pointless.
At around 11 minutes when talking abt jean if you look beyond the bridge you can see 6 horse carridges running away before the bells ring and the boat comes
I think you forgot to mention that after the players clear the castle in Kaub they are meant to be there to escort the Prussian army through the Rhine, not stay there.
That wasn't really their intent, they were scared of an attack so they lit the explosives up while there were still some men crossing (By they, I'm referring to the guy that blew the bridge up)
While at the battle of Leipzig, the French army was being battered by the coalition forces. One of Napoleon's marshals was ordered to blow up the bridge after the army had evacuated, but due to a miscommunication the bridge was blown up prematurely, hence the badge "A Slight Miscalculation."
The thing you said about defiance at the end, that's *hope.* Hope Is one of the most important qualities of humanity as a whole because a lot of the time even when we know we will lose we still keep on trying till we either win or lose trying. This Is the exact reason why humans have survived on Earth for so long, even In the worst situations, the harshest environments, the most awful moments of their lives they still had one thing by their side, hope.
We do need more of that. Since the hope we get is more of the “We live to fight another day” type rather than the “We actually stand a chance against them” type of hope.

I really like the idea that G&B had. Most zombie games are just "oh no zombie you get bitten you get zombie", meanwhile G&B has an actual reason for having zombies, which is that the zombies are unpure souls, stuck in flesh in the living world because there is no more room in hell.
As the french officers charges with his infantrymen against the horde of undead the bomber says to the officer "are you strong because you charged, or did you charge because you are strong." the french officer didnt understand him because he spoke english, the bomber then said "Perdriez-vous face à la horde ?" the french officer replied "Non, je gagne"

Correction for Kaub: The players are a scout force that went ahead to secure a safe path across the Rhine for the rest of the Prussian army that while looting the fort for supplies, accidentally opened the cellar. Which caused many of them to die and/or get infected (which includes Blucher)
Things i think should be added: There should be a way to save barry either through a secret NPC or by getting up there, same with jacob you should be able to save hin by finding a barrel placeing it next ti the gate then blowing it up before him
itd be cool if they would join you after saving them (maybe theyd act as an AI riflemen or something) and if they stay alive to the end then you get a badge or something

11:22 "the dead shall walk the Earth" is actually a reference to Dawn of the Dead, made by zombie-father George Romero, where one of the main characters say, "when there is no more room in hell, the dead shall walk the Earth", which ties in with the lore as you've seen by previous comments where it's stated that the dead come from an overflowing hell.
12:18 You realize there is a priest class, & not only that, but when said priest holds up a cross, the zombies real and back off. This is, in pop-culture, normally seen with vampires, but who knows.
The zombies are souls that went to neither heaven or hell so them looking away could be the idea that the soul denied christ in it's time living and now cannot bear the sight of what they denied
No, like, the pysically shield their eyes and back off like a cat faced with a cucumber. They also seem to yell at the priest, which could also show that they are, instead of souls escaped from purgatory, from satan himself. On a more interesting note, bombers (zombies holding barrels), do not react and simply keep walking, undeterred. This confirms barrels are from Japa- I mean not from hell in someway.
11:12 He could just wait for the ferryman/carriages to return, they have a proper barricade wall and 6 cannons on the other side, so surviving is much easier for them. they also could have an ACTUAL regiment-sized force rather than the like 18 ppl group we're in
True, they also have Notre dame which could be a good base to hunker down. The only thing I’m wondering about would be logistics such as how many supplies do they have such as food, water, ammo, equipment, etc. cause even a regiment would probably struggle against the zombie horde because of that. It’s likely they just went with the civilians and left you the ferry to escape tbh

Prussia is basically demonstrating the average modern day army in a zombie setting in G&B

They got done dirty. Even the Russians and Austrians got a little more than Prussia
Except its the 1810s so somewhat justified.
they have muskets and cannons and horses...
not humvees, not tanks, not planes, not Automatic rifles.
You really think modern day army can't fight off the dead with their much more advanced systems?

As an Arab it's very cool name :)
@@TophatKing306 The Zombies will be Extremely Frostbitten in Eastern Russia and its likely they would endure the hot deserts of the Middle East due to their Bodies becoming extremely slim and shrivelled leaving nothing for the Heat to actually Kill.

@@DiazFanboyto be fair, we walked in the water. same with the zombies

Yeah those are the last evacuees
I think you forgot to mention that after the players clear the castle in Kaub they are meant to be there to escort the Prussian army through the Rhine, not stay there.
Fogor? Thank you though
But the entire Prussian army is dead, so they decided to settle there, hence the supplies.

the idea of blowing up the bridge in leipzig is acually from history that a french solider acailly blew a bridge to make it impossible to escape
Interesting. It’s pretty cool
That wasn't really their intent, they were scared of an attack so they lit the explosives up while there were still some men crossing
(By they, I'm referring to the guy that blew the bridge up)
While at the battle of Leipzig, the French army was being battered by the coalition forces.

Beautifully said
We do need more of that. Since the hope we get is more of the “We live to fight another day” type rather than the “We actually stand a chance against them” type of hope.

You know, I’m still amazed how easily people write off Roblox when there’s games that are so amazing or have lore like this
For real
Fun Fact: in catacombes, you can encounter an iron door that has an empty chair a little farther from it, there used to be a guy that sit on the chair with a blunderbuss beside him, it was obvious that the guy took his own life, he was there in early released of catacombes but was removed because it broke one of roblox terms and service thing
Another Fun Fact: in san sebastian, during its early released, there was bodies litered EVERYWHERE with detailed gore, it was later removed because you've guessed it, term and service. theres also used to be bodies of dead french soldier behind the barricade down the road when you go to the town section and you can also get a clear view of them when you're up on the roof
That’s really cool, didn’t know that

anothe fun fact: there used to be cannons on the stairs at kaub, but it was removed at how player utilized it to stand on the end of the cannon making them unreachable to the undead
I really like the idea that G&B had. Most zombie games are just "oh no zombie you get bitten you get zombie", meanwhile G&B has an actual reason for having zombies, which is that the zombies are unpure souls, stuck in flesh in the living world because there is no more room in hell.
“Even against hell, humanity will keep fighting.”
Doom players: You don’t say?
The story: dark and twisted
The gameplay:chaotic and funny

How to survive the zombie apocalpyse in guts and blackpowder
“When they approach, we run away.”
Edit: its an oversimplifed reference
As the french officers charges with his infantrymen against the horde of undead the bomber says to the officer "are you strong because you charged, or did you charge because you are strong." the french officer didnt understand him because he spoke english, the bomber then said "Perdriez-vous face à la horde ?" the french officer replied "Non, je gagne"

2:39 that part made me think my fifer was just watching me get eatin alive.
This confirms barrels are from Japa- I mean not from hell in someway.
lol, bombers know the tactics of taking one for the team

He could just wait for the ferryman/carriages to return, they have a proper barricade wall and 6 cannons on the other side, so surviving is much easier for them. they also could have an ACTUAL regiment-sized force rather than the like 18 ppl group we're in
True, they also have Notre dame which could be a good base to hunker down. The only thing I’m wondering about would be logistics such as how many supplies do they have such as food, water, ammo, equipment, etc. cause even a regiment would probably struggle against the zombie horde because of that. It’s likely they just went with the civilians and left you the ferry to escape tbh
Im gonna say something if you have a full regiment of men it's gonna be easier to die because cqc
