I'm a former Browns fan that left after the Watson trade, I became a Bucs fan and Bakes followed me there and I couldn't be happier. Cleveland made the trade happen including the media. They made Baker play with a broken shoulder and then called him a bust for playing with it. Browns deserve every bit of ridicule they get.

@@americansaxon2101Still a Browns fan, but he's not wrong. I hate Haslem and what he's done. Hard to support a team with a guy like Watson as your star, knowing how bad his attitude and background is. Browns did the same thing with Hunt. It worked out temporarily for them, but the Chiefs didn't miss a step after releasing him. Karma. But the Browns fans don't deserve this.

@@americansaxon2101 "Fairweather fan" is something you might say to someone who refuses to watch losing games from their team, or switches teams after a bad season or a rough patch. I don't think that applies here. The Browns treatment of Baker, the Watson debacle, and the overall mismanagement of the team by Jimmy Haslam over the years is way too much to ask a fan to deal with.
It's a shame because when they hired Kevin Stefansky I thought they had finally stopped being a joke, but I guess Browns gonna Brown.

The Browns had their guy at quarterback, and it STILL WASN’T ENOUGH for them. Cleveland deserves every year without a Lombardi they experience. All Baker needs to do is keep playing well enough to keep making Cleveland eat their hearts right out.

No they didnt. baker was and is a high level backup at best. He had a 54 qbr last year thats mid as hell. Deshaun was on pace to be a historically great player so the browns gamble was justified. Baker is always cute till you run into a team with a real qb. If baker was any good the rams would have kept him as stafford insurance. Sean mcvay passed and i trust him. Deshaun was elite and baker never will be. Bad deshaun damn near has the same win percentage as good baker. Perception is everything.

Mayfield could’ve stayed with the Rams. They wanted him but he wanted to pursue a starting opportunity. He took a gamble on himself for a one year $4m prove it contract with the Bucs and he proved it. Now he’s been resigned as their franchise QB for three years and $100million. The Browns are just an inept organization at every level and this is just another example of them making the wrong evaluations and decisions.

I read the Browns forums the day they signed Watson and it was disgusting how they just threw Baker away like he was trash while praising Watson like the 2nd coming of Christ. They were making fun of Mayfield and calling him this or that. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. This guy gave his all and took that SHIT franchise back to the playoffs. Add on top of that the outright LIES they told about him on the way out to kill his career. I hope the fans never enjoy another win. The NFL should have investigated how they tried to crater his career and intentionally injure him further as well by not only playing him as hurt as he was but calling games with super high throw counts to further damage him and make the fans turn on him more to justify the ridiculous contract they had to pay Watson.
I don't care what anyone says - Stefanski and the entire front office of the Cleveland Browns are terrible nasty people. Karma is real and the Browns are just now stepping into those waters. They will pay much more as Baker succeeds more and more.

    • @davidwilliams4837
      @davidwilliams4837 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

The Browns front office and staff are absolutely lying, nasty people who more than deserve the worst-case scenario after their slander and abuse of Baker's loyalty. They sent people out to speak to Watson [per Berry's own admission] halfway into the PRIOR season BEFORE the trade [DURING the playoff run!]. The Browns WANTED Baker to fail to justify switching to Watson. Baker didn't "grow up". He just went to a real franchise that prioritizes leadership and winning.
And the SJW media hate Baker because of his middle name: Reagan. THAT is why breaking the rookie TD record in fewer games than Manning AND getting a 1-31 franchise to 7 wins somehow failed to garner him ROY. It was ridiculous then and is ridiculous now.
Baker's best year leading the Browns to the playoffs was "without" the true Stefanski. The Browns could barely practice with C0v!d lockdowns, so Baker had more ability to steer the offense. Coen is the first Coordinator who realizes the best Baker is the one who can use his processing and have more control in the offense. The TRUE Baker looked like the one against the Commanders: Remember the Bengals game with the Browns where Baker tore it up and barely threw an incompletion after a bad first quarter. Let him sling.

As a lifelong Bucs fan, theres something so unique about Baker. It finally feel like we have our QB. As great as Brady was, he didn't feel like the Bucs QB. He felt like a temporary fill in to help us win. But Baker feels like he belongs here. Like he could be here for the next 10 years and finally become the marquee QB you think of when you think of the Bucs. Love Baker, and thank you Browns for royally botching this situation. LETS FREAKING BAKE!

This is exactly how I feel about Baker. He’s more than just another QB coming through Tampa. Jameis was similar he was just too young and needed his eyes fixed to be an all star in the league. I bet he does well in Cleveland once they decide to bench Watson. Look what happened in NO before we injured him.

  • @NOAH2023

    Best of the week
Baker Mayfield, QB - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-for-30, 289 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT
It’s easy to brush this off by saying “he played the Commanders,” but there’s more to what Mayfield did than meets the eye. Not only did he thrive with a new offensive coordinator, but more importantly he got everyone in the Tampa Bay offense involved.
Top receivers Chris Godwin and Mike Evans both got their targets and touchdowns, Rachaad Evans flourished as a dual-threat back. This team just rolled, and Mayfield showed all his best traits in this game as he harnessed his toughness, competitiveness and moxie to make plays and cook the opposition.
    Worst of the week
Deshaun Watson, QB - Cleveland Browns 24-for-45, 169 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT
Deshaun Watson is so cooked. Right now he’s playing football like someone who doesn’t want to be on the field, and it shows. His accuracy is all over the map, he makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands, and at no point on Sunday did Watson play like an elite quarterback (which he’s being paid to be).
A team can only go as far as their QB allows, and right now Watson is dragging the Browns down with him.
AND NOW ANOTHER ACCUSATION HAS BEEN MADE BY A DIFFERENT WOMAN CLAIMING A SEXUAL ATTACK COMMITTED BY WATSON ON A DATE.
You just can't make this kind of stuff up.

There was a lot of truth here. Dave Canales was a first time OC last year and it showed. That middle of the season lull was on him. He would continue to try to run the ball untill (go back and look, take away the longest run and the worst run for each game to see how bad they actually were running the ball), they were averaging 1.8 yards a carry). they got way down and then open up and suddenly they would start moving the ball. It's hard to sustain drives needing 3rd and 9 every time. It was not insane that he would interview for a HC job, it is insane that he would be hired and accept! Maybe he'll be a good HC in the future but he is way not ready. I predict that horrible organization will fire him mid season.

As a Falcons fan, I'm still embarrassed that we were the presumptive destination for Watson. Matt Ryan might have been in decline, but he didn't deserve that. I still don't know why Arthur Blank thought "You know who'd be a great replacement for the best quarterback in franchise history? This guy who of his own volition hasn't played in almost 2 years."
I'm glad for Baker that he's been able to get healthy, and see further success. I thought it was damn weird that Cleveland just... gave up on him. Over their own idiocy. If they set back, and let him heal up. Yeah, that season probably would have been lost, but the Browns are never in the running for Watson. Browns fans are probably laughing at us for replacing Matt Ryan with DeShaun Watson, especially considering how we even came about getting Matt Ryan.

I’m watching the NFL less and less every year. This was an awesome detailed account of what exactly happened with Cleveland and Mayfield/Watson. Yeah the business end is just part of being a fan. It’s all the unnecessary dramatics that makes fans straight up apathetic over all of it.
With that said, it’s cool we live in an era where we can pull up old games from decades ago and watch those. Highlights or in full. And I’m obviously an old head. Would rather watch Super Bowl and other playoff highlights from the 90s and 00s. I am at a point where I barely even keep up with the standings and tune out until the playoffs. I skipped the wild card games last year. So the natural progression will be skipping the divisional rounds. And it’s the same with all of it. NBA, MLB, NCAA.
Anyways that’s my crazy rant on the subject. Great work man. I like your channel.

It’s why I never like when scouts or coaches emphasize “athleticism” for quarterbacks. QB is a head game first and foremost. If you can’t make reads or understand the defense you’re playing against, you’re just a running back with a higher pay grade

I remember when my season tickets arrived after the Browns drafted Bernie Kosar. So freaking excited. I saw some historic football games in the old Municipal Stadium. And then? 1995. My last game in person was that final game in the old Municipal Stadium, and I swore that day, I'd never buy tickets for another Browns game. It's funny, cause that translated into barely watching much NFL football after that. I became a "Fantasy Football fan" for a few years, until I quit that too. From 2007 (when I quit Fantasy football) until that fateful Jets game in 2018 I hadn't even watched on TV. One of my friends convinced me to come hang out during the game. I didn't really pay much attention, but that first pass Baker threw? Grabbed me like nothing in the last 2 decades. Yep, I got sucked on to the Mayfield hype train. And now? I'm quick to change and watch the Buccaneers when the Browns are sucking. Happy to see Baker being successful, because the Browns dicked him so bad. Still want the Browns to win. Still havent (and never will) bought another ticket.

He's basically like Colin Kaepernick, when he is Young he can run around and make plays, backyard football. When you get older you can't run as fast then you got to be able to read defenses and throw the ball in the coverages. I don't see this ending well for the Browns or Watson
