One of the things that I like best about your channel is all the conversation that goes on while you’re teaching us. I especially like when Martin from behind the camera has something to say and laugh with you lol. But that’s one of the reasons I like watching your videos and why I get excited when I see a nice long video. That’s why it’s something wonderful that I get up. Make a cuppa tea and get all comfortable get my little dog in my lap and watch your show. I love what you teach us. That’s another at the top reason, but it’s all of it together. That makes it perfect.
I have to agree about the wax finish. It’s unlike anything you can get with a liquid top coat, it not only leaves a beautiful look, deepening the colors and depth, but the textile aspect is what I love the most! It’s such a smooth buttery feel. I’ll never understand those that don’t like waxing! 😂
I guess it's just choice, I would years ago always would have waxed but having lupus sometimes just makes me exhausted and I seal because I'm not up to it. So maybe there are others like me. You are totally correct however waxing makes your furniture way more tactile x

This piece of furniture is stunning!!! As well as the Indian folk art vibe it reminds me of some of the Austrian/Alps traditional painted pieces. Adding that small amount of red was genius.

Ha ha I was asked to do a tutorial on Annie Sloans as I use Annie's paint, I have a tutorial on her inlay on Tuesday. So keep an eye out. However I've seen Debbie's and yes of course I will get my mitts on it and my thinking cap on to see what we can all do x x
I’m digging this design and colors. They remind me of Pioneer Woman design. And kind of folky. But those dry brush descriptions is hilarious… fluffy tufty, in betweeny, pouncy, uppy downy, back and forthy, and pouncer

What a lovely, lovely piece! I can see how adding the extra colors added so much more! I loved your dry brushing so much I’m considering dry brushing my kitchen cupboards. Oh dear. Thank you for addressing the question of whether to paint the inside of the cupboards, etc. it all adds up and gets quite expensive and in todays market, makes it questionable as to if you may even lose money on the project. You are very realistic about these things which is appreciated. As always, I love spending time with you and the lovely Martyn. God bless.
Yes painting cupboards is something to consider, I see others furniture sometimes and I watch them spend a lot of time in the inside, time is money and paint is money. When doing what I do I need to look at the overall price and often I think I'm not going to make any more money..... However sometimes it's good just to show off ha ha ha

Ha ha well I try to be professional but it is hard. I revert quickly to being myself which as you know Deb as you have watched me for a long time is the village idiot ha ha ha I use French chic tough top coat and I apply it with a green kitchen sponge not the rough green side the sponge side. I spray if its an inlay I use rustoleum spray sealer but I only just spray the inlay. Let them dry then apply my sealer all over the piece as usual. I don't use spray sealer very often.... It makes the studio smell with fumes and I get giddy with fumes ha ha Don't even talk to me about the smell of sharpie pens I like them ha ha
Ha ha I'm not sure if you knew me you would think that, I have plenty of patience for my work but ask me to cook something or gold laundry well...... Its another story. Lel x

Oh I forgot to mention l bought a tiny humidor at a yard sale. It had lost its copper lining but not its nasty smell. The only thing that blocked the odors was Zinsser BIN Primer. It also stops bleedthrough of old resins seeping out of the wood. I’m guessing you have your favourite primer-this is my go-to in the states.

Hi Mel, the green sideboard that is not selling looks gorgeous but you're saying it's not selling. Try changing the description to hall cabinet or liquor cabinet. It changes the perception in the buyer as to what they could use it for. I call it marketing mindf....ing It works. Lol. Give it a try and let me know. 😅
Oh it's not selling because no one wants it's quite the opposite I get asked about nearly every day. It's the size that's off putting it's very small.... But thanks for the advice x person

Lupus will always be there for me too, I guess you just have to fit it in your schedule with all its daily modifications. Honestly, you and Marty have opened up a whole new world of creative thoughts with your awesome paper designs. Hope you feel better too. I describe to people that when you do to much physically, the next day feels like you did a triathlon with swimming, biking and running to the top of the mountain, and once at the top you fell down the mountain and hit every rock on the way down.

BEAUTIFUL!! Once again i am mind blown, boom. I am just looking at finishing a piece with 3 packs of your paper, and your hand painting i think just gave me the idea i needed to fill in the blanks. You will have to watch my tutorial on october 15, another challenge, to see which paper i used! And, dang, martin does laundry too! When are those how to be a husband of a crazy artist tutorials going to start, my hubs needs it bad, lol

Lupus will always be there for me too, I guess you just have to fit it in your schedule with all its daily modifications. Honestly, you and Marty have opened up a whole new world of creative thoughts with your awesome paper designs. Hope you feel better too. I describe to people that when you do to much physically, the next day feels like you did a triathlon with swimming, biking and running to the top of the mountain, and once at the top you fell down the mountain and hit every rock on the way down.

WOW WOW WOW ...... The two of you work so well together...... I look for those paint pens around here no luck.... How do you stir your paint in the white containers you use? I was telling my husband what you use... Your videos are never too long.... You are a great teacher and you show that having fun is what life is about.... See ya next Sunday... I have not use the paper I got from you yet... My idea is using all three on one piece.. Here is Saskatchewan Canada our sun sets and sun rise can blow you away... Many colours all at once... I want to do a inlay at the bottom of French look and divide it with clay flowers or swirls.
