The so-called inconsistency is one of the draws of this channel for me. I like the diversity of books discussed, your sense of humor, the variety of types of videos, and your insights. Wilder Girls was snobbed by booktube tbh, the writing may have been too interesting and unique for normal YA LOL. It was one of the coolest and most beautiful but terrifying books I’ve read in a while and I will never understand why everyone disliked it so much

As all the other comments just said, the lack of consistency is what makes your channel so special to me. Every day when I check TH-cam I'll be like "what has she come up with this time"? There are so many booktubers that are so predictable in the videos that they make which I personally find a little boring. Also really love your aesthetic because it somehow brings across that you're an actual real person. Your channel is my absolute favourite channel ever and I'm sure lots of people will love whatever content you decide to make!
I personally keep coming to your channel because of your personality. You're very goofy and don't apologise for it - great minds goof off alike.
I also appreciate how deeply and diversely you review books in a intellectual and also emotional view.
I mean, I never read the types of books you do. I just don't read YA, Romance, Horror, really any books that you've reviewed except the Hunger Games. (Which I read a long time ago and didn't find that special) I just really appreciate your personality and your genuine effort to have a unique channel that brings something new to TH-cam.
And I'll just say it - you're beautiful, and that helps too 😂😊
I find the lack of previsibility to be one of the qualities of this channel. You try a lot of stuff and you have fun with it, thats what matters
Your videos are some of my favorites! The element of consistency in them is you as a person, and it's fun seeing different sides of you in the different contexts!

I feel like your aesthetic and personality shines through every video you make even though the kind of video isn't always the same. So if it was up to me you can just keep doing what you do haha

I read Mexican Gothic for the bookclub and ohmygosh I loved it soooo much! "I don't even have a consistent personality irl, how am I supposed to have one in the internet?" is a MOOD. Having a personality in your second language is another tricky thing too. I have a feeling I'd love Wilder Girls???? But I'm also very hesitant to pick it up??? YESSSSSS Chloe Brown is sooooooooo good!
It's nice when channels have consistently and a theme, but not having that also makes you seem very real, because that's what everyone is like in real life. It makes you seems so genuine. So don't worry 🥰

you're my one of my favorite booktubers and honestly i've never thought about your channel as 'inconsisent', i love the variety of the videos you present to your audience and i love seeing both the more laid back videos and the ones that may be more put together or researched. doubting yourself is very much part of something every single content creator goes trough but i think you're doing an amazing job!

I’m currently reading Mexican Gothic, and I’m so interested in how other people are experiencing it. I’m actually enjoying the slowness of the beginning, but I understand that there’s a twist of some kind near the end that you either love or hate? So now I’m wondering if our experiences with it might end up being opposite!
I also really like your interpretation of the ending of Wilder Girls. I found it very abrupt at first, but then it occurred to me that the story should stay contained to the school / island, and I think you’re right that it did well not to answer our questions. A simple answer would not have been satisfying.

Leonie I love how all your videos are so different and you bring out a different side of yourself for each one of them! You have really good and creative video ideas and although that may make you seem inconsistent, I think it's one of your biggest strengths and the reason why I watch every single one of your videos cause I know they'll all be different and special in their own way! Keep doing what you're doing cause you have a wonderful personality and I'm sure a lot of people keep watching your content because of it 😊💖 It can be scary not to conform to a specific aesthetic every time but, in the end, I think it's what makes you stand out!

I honestly don't think you need to have a certain "theme" to your channel and the things that you make. I feel like we are made to believe that all the content we create and post to any sort of social media platform has to follow a specific theme to be appealing but tbh I feel like you should do whatever the heck you want :) And it feels like you are being yourself and you're having fun in your videos so keep that up, it's great and the reason why we all keep coming back to your channel :)

I know this is from 3 years ago but I just started a booktube/authortube channel and I really related to your insecurities about not having an aesthetic. I’m in real life a mix of Viking/goth/dark cottagecore/booknerd and I can be very chaotic (most of the time)but I also really like to make ‘relax and chat’ videos. The struggle is real lol
I understand what you mean by seeing a lot of people with specific aesthetics/tastes, while I’m also kind of all over the place liking a bunch of everything or depending on my mood. But that’s what make people...people! I’d much rather watch someone being genuine with their personality and interests than ‘fake’ it to be ‘on’ all the time or consistent. Some people are naturally more consistent and some people aren’t, that’s totally cool either way! I’ve been trying to compare myself less, when I feel like I’m all over the place. I know for a fact the majority of your subs watch for you and how authentic and silly/awkward/honest you can be each video. :)

One of the things I like so much about your channel is the "inconsistency"! No real person is cozy all the time, or intellectual all the time, or funny all the time. To me, the different types of videos on your channel just make you feel more like a real person, someone I can relate to.

Wilder Girls is being translated to Portuguese (actually, its release date in Portugal is today) and I've been seeing it every day, so I've been somewhat interested, but I'm torn between not liking horror (and therefore being a bit reticent on picking it up) and reading bad reviews about it (and being reticent on picking it up lol) Get a Life, Chloe Brown was SO GOOD! I can't wait to read Take a Hint, Dani Brown 🥰 I also have A Deadly Education on my TBR but I have so many books to read, it's going to take a while until I get to it, but I'm really curious about your thoughts on it 🥰

I don't usually read fiction, but recently find myself reading multiple fiction books a week, and Wilder Girls was the book that got me back into fiction! i 100% respect people not liking it cuz everyone has different taste (and i will admit, the ending didn't quite land for me) but I really enjoyed it, even if it took a bit of attention to get into it!!
Can anyone help me out and tell me what the song at the end was it was so chill.
And I agree with what everyone else is saying your changes of style makes you stand out and your personality comes across well, plus ever since watching your how to read critically video book I have been doing that a lot with novels and it makes me appreciate that more. You might think you bring very little to the table but actually your content is the feast.

I've had Audible since 2014 and I think I've only actually listened to like 3 books on my account since then. I mostly got it for my ex husband when we were married. Now I have Scribd which also has audiobooks and I'm currently listening to YOU which is the first audiobook that I've just been sucked into!
I'm about to finish Even Cowgirls Get the Blues by Tom Robbins. Interesting pondering about the meaning of life (life in America), etc, etc.

I love all your videos! Ha, ok that’s probably not that helpful. I’m going to echo what most of the other comments are saying which is that the variety and personality you bring to your videos is what keeps me coming back. I find channels that have the exact same camera angle and bg for every video kinda boring. It’s great that you mix it up. One more thing I appreciate is your sense of humour, especially because humour can often be a tricky thing to pull off in a language that isn’t your native one.

I don't think you should see the "inconsistency" as something negative. It makes each video fresh and different from the other, every time I come back here I don't know what to expect and every time I get something new. Like you said, you are not an inconsistent person in real life so it's more like a part of your personality and you don't have to change it to try and be someone else. And if that doesn't help, at least the inconsistency is, well, consistent.
I also love the way you pronounce "ambience", almost choked on my drink. I don't think it's necessarily the right way to say it, but it's cute.

spoiler for Take a Hint Chloe Brown: my personal opinion
I thought the "steaminess" was insufferable most of the time. The words used to describe body parts......and the detail that the author goes into..... wasn't for me. Made me cringe and this has never happened to me before when reading steamy romance in any other novel before.
I actually thought the last argument Chloe and Red had was very unrealistic, rom-com like and very uncharacteristic for the characters and kind of ruined the ending of the novel for me. Red's reaction was very immature and even with his past trauma, it seemed very over the top, and I feel like it didn't make sense for him to react the way he did. I understand that something like that was necessary for more "drama" and whatnot, but I thought it could have done without it and still been a satisfying read.
Nevertheless, I actually really enjoyed everything else about the novel; I thought the pair was adorable and had really good chemistry and RED IS SO DREAMYyyyyyyyyyyyy. It's a really cute story overall.

I must be the only one who did not enjoy Get a Life Chloe Brown! I ended up giving it 2 stars I believe. I am not normally one for romance, but after so many of my fav Booktubers recommended it, I decided to give it a go...and boy was I disappointed! I cannot quite put into words why I did not like it, but I think most of all, I found it incredibly boring. I really need to find a good romance!
You’re not the only one! I also read it because it was highly recommended by a booktuber. Contemporary romance isn’t a genre I typically read but I wanted to branch out! I listened to the audiobook which really got on my nerves after a while so I don’t know how much that contributed to me not liking it. Anyway I’m not giving up on romance :) Maybe I’ll try reading a physical copy of the sequel and see how it compares.
@@NeilBruder I also listened to the audiobook and maybe that’s what made me dislike it. I hated the narrator! I think she made the main character so unlikeable

My exact thoughts!!! I normally don't read romance too and gave this a go because of booktube. But omg, it was so boring. It was so cringy too. Seriously i don't get the hype hahaha
Edit: i listened to the audiobook as well and the narrator was so so annoying. Maybe the physical book would have worked better.
It was okay, I'm a big fan of romance so maybe I liked it better, but the drama was most of the time not my thing. But.... don't let it disencourage you to read further in the series. If you really don't like romance, maybe not, but Take a hint, Dani Brown is so much better. More humour, better story and cute.

@Alexandra Masella SO! it's about these 5 students that take place at a university where they study greek and philosophy and they're up to all kinds of dark stuff and we follow our narrator Richard as he becomes a part of their little circle (so that makes it 6 students). oh, and there's a cool professor with whom they have discussions in latin idk... fun!
Consistency is overrated. I like a channel with texture.
