Exactly ! I stopped watching booktubers for 2 years because i got bored of same books but now ive just discovered this channel and i am so so happy. (already watched 3 vlogs and keep going)
I usually have like 4-5 books going at the same time: audiobook, non-fiction natural science book, non-fiction business book, fiction standalone, and a long fiction series. I think of each like a subject studied in school, where they can all be consumed at the same time but don’t lose their meanings.
The early fall vibes + the nonfiction/fiction combos are the perfect atmosphere! I love to combine a nonfiction audiobook with plenty of fantasy/fiction especially during the fall :)
I know that good time-management is critical. However, even with that, I find it hard to comprehend that you are able to do all the things that you accomplish in your busy life ! Steve.....commenting from outside a very small town in an extremely rural part of the State of Mississippi, USA.
Hi Leonie!! Your reading vlogs are my favorite videos. You even inspired me to do the 24 hour readathon challenge on my channel. It was kinda chaotic but really fun. Thank you for all that you do. I can tell how much time and effort you put into your videos and I really appreciate it. x
Instead of focusing on the content, I was just thinking about the fact that Leonie had to set up the camera, start recording, walk around a bit and then run back to the camera and stop recording 😂
Me too! I started wondering instead whether she has someone else do the camera work. Things like setting up the camera, then walking out and shutting the door, then opening the door and walking in... 😅
Yessss, so happy to hear you liked Girls with Sharp Sticks! Gifting a book is always a bit of a gamble, so I'm happy it worked out this way. Join the underrated favs club!!
Mexican Gothic fits even better in November 2nd because that day is Día de Muertos, day of the death, would be the translation. That day we’re all about calacas and honoring our departed loved ones by making altares and eating a lot of Pan de Muerto (bread of the dead) it’s a very delicious bread. And I’m sorry if I made any mistakes, english it’s abously not my first lenguage, I’m from México. I love your videos, Leo, you’re really nice 💛✨
i love watching your reading vlogs!!! they are really amazing and i always look forward to them. dont be too hard on yourself. keepsafe always leonie ❤❤❤❤
Your reading vlogs are so cute! I like the cool little transitions you do. Just discovered your channel recently, but I like how artsy it is. I think this is the first of your reading vlogs I've seen, and I like it a lot! The Gilded Wolves looks super good, too, might have to add that one to my list. Your thoughts on Man's Search For Meaning are really interesting, as well. It's also funny to hear you mention Silicon Valley, cuz that's right next to me, haha. But your vlogs are goals, keep up the good work! I've also seen so much about Mexican Gothic, I might have to add it to my list.
This video speaks to me on a personal level, what happened over this past summer is I started a lot of books and ended up DMF'ing all of them and starting over with something new 😂😂
I'm giving work a break for a week and hey... I am gonna read four books too! I know you like non-fiction and from your Goodreads, I know you haven't read "why we sleep by Matthew Walker" yet so I highly recommend it
yeaah, finally another reading vlog ❤️ I've waited for that! So, GWSS is on my wishlist now. I love your two tops, which you were wearing at the end of the video, so beautiful! 😊
Hi, I just found your channel. I really Like your ideas and humour. Also, that you like reading several genres, is very inspirering. Greetings from Deutschland, liebe Grüße!
Your choice of books speaks to me so much - the mixture of fantasy, philosophical books, Feminism... Also I am really looking forward to your climate change series!
I honestly enjoyed reading books again after I found your channel 🥰🙌 btw do you mind sharing your video editing software?? I really love how you edit your videos 💜✨💯
@@TheBookLeo i am just coming out of my addictions, and started reading a little while ago. These recommendations help me stay a little sane. So, thank you 😁
This may sound like a cliche but that idea that you're not in control of what's happening around you but you do have an influence on your attitudes towards it really helped me getting through my depression 2 years ago and has been having a really positive impact on my life ever since and still to this day. At the time I just wrote it off as unrealistic since it's rather hard to be positive when everything around you was so depressive but I still tried to follow it as there was really not much else I could do and I'm glad that I did because now I'm nowhere near as gloomy and negative as I was. I also managed to pull my friend who was also in a similar situation out of it as well thanks to my changes of attitudes. I really ejoyed listening to your opinions on these things so I'd love to see more of them but I am also aware that some people might find them boring lol.
Hi Leonie! I love your videos :) I was wondering if you know about Blackwell's. They're an independent bookstore that ship worldwide for free and they are often as cheap (sometimes cheaper) than bookdepo/amazon. Maybe good to know. Keep it up with the great videos! x
@@TheBookLeo I wanted to thank you for low-key encouraging me to start reading fantasy! It was the genre I didn't want to come close to, but seeing you read lighter fantasy and overall taking your time (a month sometimes) to read a novel encouraged me to pick up "Silver In the Wood" - 100 page folklore-inspired novella, which I loved and I even picked a sequel yesterday! Fyi, main characters give me such Hannibal&Will vibes, I think you'll love it too!
I'm really incapable of ordering only 1 book online and not 2 or 3. It's a problem lol. I really enjoy your vlogs, especially when there are field trips involved. It's turned fall here thankfully, so I was going to get into the season and start Mexican Gothic too for the book club. Also was going to try Michael McDowell's The Elementals. I've been ready for Halloween since August.
I dnfd the Gilded Wolves but I was listening to the audiobook. I’m thinking the problem was just the audiobook and I should give the physical book a go instead!
The non-fiction books sounded really interesting! I noticed that you (as well as other channels about reading books) mainly talk about fiction books, so it was interesting to hear what you thought about non-fiction books. My attitude towards books is pretty much the opposite of yours; I mainly read non-fiction and when I am really in the mood I read fiction books haha. Have you considered doing reviews about those books? it would be pretty cool to hear your thoughts.
@@TheBookLeo Great, I´ll make sure to check that up! Also, your style of recording bits at different times is really cool for a vlog. Might have seen it somewhere else, but it was really well done here, as it makes the whole vlog feel more like a story than just you saying your thoughts. Might be the influence of reading so many stories yourself haha
i only started reading it to bridge the time until i could read another book, so i stopped reading. I do want to finish it someday i just don't yet know when
kenshin netero I don’t know what you like reading so I have recommendations for a couple of genres: Sci-Fi: defy the stars by Claudia Gray (completed trilogy) or skyward by Brandon Sanderson (ongoing series) Historical Fiction: Lovely War by Julie Berry (standalone) (one of my favorite books) or Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin (completed duology) (alternate universe+one magical element) Fantasy: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (completed duology) (also a favorite of mine) or an ember in the ashes by Sabaa Tahir (soon to be completed series) Mystery: Sadie by Courtney Summers (standalone) or The Diviners by Libba Bray (completed series) Contemporary: The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed(standalone) (favorite of mine) (lots of trigger warnings tho) or Dear Martin by Nic Stone (standalone) Romance: Aristotle an Dante discover the secrets of the universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz (standalone) or Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender (standalone) or if you want straight romances: Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch (companion series) or The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli (companion series) Hope you like some of them 😂
The Book Leo lol, recognized him from my (and apparently also his) Hearthstone stage, a few years back. I had no idea that he blew up with among us, but that’s amazing!
I think you’re the only booktuber that I actually get recommendations for non fiction , thanks for that

woah cool that you did a 24 hour readathon! and thank you
I am always reading more than one book at once. I have hit double digits at this stage. I would not recommend hitting double digits.
I hit triple lol jkjk
See you packing those orders already gives me goosebumps and I am anxiously waiting for them to arrive :)

a trick: watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.

This was the reason I needed to read Mexican Gothic! Requested from the library, hope it arrived on time. Fantastic vlog as usual, now for my reading!
honestly i'm going to start my morning with reading and coffee now, it seems like a good idea to add some structure.
Your reviews on non-fiction books are very insightful and they help me a lot when choosing what books to read next
cool video I love how at (19:38) your cat just leaped out the door once it opened. They were like freeedoooom loll
Wow, the atmosphere in this vlog! Loved it! ♥️

Could you please do a video showing how you run your etsy shop like how it works when you have to post items x

You make great cocktails with book choices.

Reminiscent of the long lost Vermeer masterpiece "Girl with Long Red Hair Watching Cats".
