Reading, researching and discussing this book, even though it was almost two years ago, was rollercoaster ride that I will never forget. It made me angry that these things have already and continue to happen but most importantly opened my eyes and knocked my complacency regarding matters of politics. But it’s also so much more than that. It makes one really think about language and knowledge affect their life and views and so much more. Definitely worth a read and then a reread.

Margaret Atwood is one of the most brilliant authors of all time. I have read many of her books, of course, including the "Tale" (and the successor, "The Testaments") and am always thrilled by her style and ability to point out to so many things which go wrong in our societies.
Wrong, this is the only famous book she did, othrs were mediocre. Some says tht the book is badly written, I dont know why. Aniways, if this book is famous is just becuse is 1984 rewritten for feminists.
This book is a masterpiece in many ways. It bravely takes on heavy topics. Also I found great analogs from the book, for example the exploitation that is done to the handmaidens are in almost every way same as we do to cows and other animals. It is just sinister to think that any living being should go through something so oppressive and nervewrecking.

Now look at Roe v wade...
Abortion is murder.
I have an irrational fear of this story coming true one day.
It's one of the scariest books/ tv shows i've seen, and thinking about it gives me anxiety.
I think it scares me a lot because this could actually happen, although not probably, it definitely could be a possibility, and i don't want that to happen ever, not to my future kids, to anyone.
It's one of the things that keeps me up at night.
