Jersey Mike's is always consistent which is what I love about them. The bread is always excellent and without good bread nothing else matters. They bake all of their bread in house EXCEPT for that beach location apparently. Peter Mancro-the Founder is from Point Pleasant (15 minutes away). Now Jersey Mike's is a huge national chain. That sucks they gave you the wrong sandwich along with shabby customer service. Next time order on their App and it will be ready when you arrive. Great video. Belmar is great during the week but on the weekends NO BUENO it's too crowded ZERO PARKING unless you get there by 9:30am. A lot of well known Pizza joints in that area
Pretty much spot on but they probubly just ran out of bread due to high volume and had another employee go grab some from another store, or one of theyre employees delivered it but still same fresh baked bread
Beeeeen going to Jersey Mike's for 17 yrs now. (my old job used to be catered by Jersey Mike's & Chick-fil-A on holidays) & personally my absolute fav sandwich chain 👍
Been going to Jersey Mike’s in Vegas for around 20 years, I always get the Philly giant, the cheesesteak, extra meat, onions and cheese; no peppers. Never got anything else, hard to get away from my go to 😊
Cap. No one had a problem with Subway until $5 foot long went away lol JM is overrated. Y’all will criticize it when the next sandwich chain comes around
I work for a VERY SUCCESSFUL Jersey Mikes franchise in southern Cali. If you had to wait 20 minutes it’s because it’s a busy day with ALSO online orders that come in CONSTANTLY. 🤷🏼♂️ It’s always worth the wait. URGENCY is one part of our motto. Also,,, READ YOUR TICKET is another. Sorry about the beef instead of chicken. Hope to see you sometime in southern Cali. I work at all the stores. 👍
Jersey Mike's is KILLING IT in the national sandwich chain game because their products are SUPERIOR to all others. They make Subway look like a JOKE. You are absolutely correct, those are north Jersey subs, and Jersey Mike's absolutely NAILS the style. I'm originally from north Jersey, and when trying Jersey Mike's for the first time, I was SHOCKED at how close they were to the mom & pop Italian deli subs I grew up on. Next time you drop in, you need to get the #13 Original Italian made Mike's way; that's provolone, all the Italian cold cuts with lettuce, onion, tomato oil & vinegar & oregano- and make sure to add the hot pepper relish too! Just don't add mayo; north Jersey subs DO NOT have mayo on them, EVER.
Another small family owned Soul Food business in that area {Neptune NJ) is called Ain't Just Fish. Fried fish, Chicken Wings options along with Oxtails and Ribs specials depending on the day of the week that you're there. It's very busy. If you get there after 2pm on most days they're already out of food. Small Black owned business. Very popular.
Primos definitely feel legit even for a chain with the long hots and cooper sharp options, seeded rolls. I definitely agree though, Jersey Mikes and Primos are definitely the best quality options in a mass marketing effort. Keep up the great work and content! Stay blessed and hope to see you do a food/sandwich tour of Pittsburgh someday!
When it comes to you guys and eating hoagies at the beach, i can't forget about the ones with the pepper relish from last year i think. Or maybe the year before that since time flies by like crazy. That Cheesesteak hoagie looked good, glad it still worked out since it was the wrong sandwich !! Nice to spend a day at the beach with the family !! ❤
During your Jersey Mike's review at the Jersey Shore, you mentioned visiting Tastee Sub in Edison some time back. Another great breakfast and/or sub shop in Edison is the Edison Sub Shop on Woodbridge Ave. The breakfast menu, in my opinion cannot be beat and I'd even rank their subs as the best in town and towns around. Edison Sub Shop is a small business established in or around 1969 (I may be guessing on that). I also saw your review of Wonton Guy in Edison. Your review has me eagerly awaiting a visit there. Thanks for your time and reviews of the great places we have in Edison, NJ.
I'm in Folsom CA and our Jersey Mike's has cool people in it and they're enthusiastic to make you a good sammich when you come in. They greet you with enthusiasm. If there's people ahead of me, I never worry about waiting. You said it was a 20 minute wait but you didn't elaborate on whether it was busy or if there was no one before you and you still waited 20 minutes for 2 sammiches. But at least what they gave you was good quality and good tasting. I like our Jersey Mike's in Folsom CA!
Jersey Mike's ain't bad. A lot of people don't know a great hoagie though so they are always comparing it to places like Subway which used to be bomb when they cut open the bread up top. But for me, chain-wise, I'd go Jimmy Johns, Potbelly, Primos, Blimpie's and then Jersey Mike's. Nothing will ever beat those mom and pop deli's though.
I like a few of their subs the #13. the tuna (w/bacon and provolone), the turkey roast beef combo and the steak is good but you need to pay for extra meat for it to be worth it. And I try to only order online to avoid mistakes. Most of them make the bread onsite.
THEY ALWAYS make the bread on site. Any bread being delivered is from a sister store close by because it is busy and they are running low on bread. But that bread is also made on site. 🙏
Greetings Bro... An idea just popped in my head. Think about traveling a little on the east coast. Maybe you could get some businesses to sponsor your travels to their city. I'm in Baltimore... I can think of a ton of places for you to hit up in the city and the surrounding counties. It would be dope... I would be happy to chop it up with you and talk more about it... BTW I've been subbed for a few years now. I try not to miss any videos (unless I haven't eaten yet).
Shoutout to Amato’s in San Jose, CA.! The owner (Bill) is from Pennsauken and his sandwiches are 🔥. Highly recommended if you’re in the South Bay area.
I'm all the way in Reno NV always wanted a Real G's of the sandwich industry's opinion about a sandwich I was curious about! Thanks JL keep up the sandwich videos.🙏
As chains go, Jersey Mike's is better than decent. I think you hit the nail on the head. I miss the old Quiznos from when they began, and Subway just make me wanna barf.
I was surprised that it was good, for a franchise. Live in New Jersey my whole life, the first time I tried Jersey Mike's was in Long Beach, California. LOL😆
JL if you ever in Coral Springs, Florida. Laspadas is the spot for cold cut hoagies. Order the Mama Laspada. Haven't been to a better deli and it's been 14 years.
Their chipotle cheesesteak is the best imo. I also like their ham, salami and provolone sub. As far as service, it’s definitely the location. Some locations are sub making machines and others… well, not so much. That’s definitely a prime location, like you mentioned, so you’d think they’d have their finest working there.
wow. this vid brings back memories I never thought I had. My buddy got married on the shore down here and all of the boardwalk looks so familiar but I was too messed up to actively remember it. This was like 6 years ago. Damn. I made it home (Uber) so I guess everything worked out.
It's alright for a chain. Here in Florida, better than most if not all (not counting LaSpada's in Lauderdale). Only place I can get it with proper juice (not Sub Sauce/Italian dressing).
I've only ever enjoyed Subway, Firehouse, and Jersey Mike's when it comes to chain shops. By far leaps, JM is the best. Always fresh bread, the cc are all freshly and THINLY sliced, all the accouterments, etc make it for me the best of the chains. Extra juicy, always delicious. P.S. I've never tried one of their hot compilations, my tendencies always gear towards the Italian combo or the roast beef. ❤❤❤🥖
Tell them to throw that Club Supreme on the grill next time for a minute. My fave sammich. Also, we usually don’t do “Mikes Way” with the oil and vinegar on hot subs. Because it makes the sandwich very soggy. But we do it however you want it. ❤ GOOD REVIEW🙏
Jersey Mike's is good for sure. I never had the regular cheesesteak but I had the "Big Kahuna" which is one of their chicken cheesesteaks and it was really good.
Hey JL. Jersey Mike's is pretty good. Definitely betta than Subway hands down.. I also get their app. Where you can get a dollar or 2 off their subs. Enjoy!! 🐞🤤
I get the #2 (Jersey Shore Favorite) with tomato, lettuce, oil and mayo. It's the perfect Italian style sub, even better than many mom and pop style Italian sandwiches in NY at least - extra oily is how I like it.
Jersey Mike’s hoagies are really tasty. I normally get mine Mike’s Way with lettuce, tomato and onion with the juice … oil and vinegar. Problem is the bread doesn’t hold up. It’s falling apart by time I get to the second half.
From Beast to Feast! I'm there... Lol... Too funny, you referenced Tastee subs in Edison. I live close to Tastee 2 in Franklin Park, went there two days ago, Terrible! Twenty dollars for no meat! That sub you ate had three times the meat. Told the wife, not going back. Jersey Mikes should come in and bury them!

Some good eats there
Tough to beat for a chain sandwich. Hits just about every time. Fresh slicing makes a big difference.
Big Kahuna is amazing! Steak, double cheese, fried onions, mushrooms, peppers, and jalapenos. #56. The chicken version is #55.
I keep hearing bout this Kahuna
The chicken kahuna is my fave hot sub. Ask for a “98”. It’s a chicken kahuna with Chipotle Mayo. 🤔
Its Definitely BETTER then Subway 😂
😂
Anything is better than Subway!
That's a REALLY low bar.
Cap. No one had a problem with Subway until $5 foot long went away lol JM is overrated. Y’all will criticize it when the next sandwich chain comes around
Subway is nasty pre-sliced meats all dried out. I've never eaten there and have no plans.
A.C.'s iconic White House Subs is the place to cop subs! It's their prize-winning rolls that does it for me that NO other shops rival! 🤤
Double meat!
