      A great smoothie: approx 1 to 2 cups of frozen strawberries, 1 frozen stick of Açaí berry ( @ Costco or other) & approx 1-2 cups apple juice or coconut water or even just filtered water & use the smoothie program or start on 5 for a secs then on high for 60 secs ..OR for frozen dessert: substitute juice w/ a lil milk & use frozen dessert prog or on high for @ least a min & use tamper to help with frozen fruit until you hear the famous VitaMix growl & it’s soft, turn off , scoop out & Enjoy 😊Btw: You could add lil Agave Nectar for a lil more sweetness , your option

    A tip to keep your pitcher container looking like new, dont let it air dry after you wash it, take a towel and wipe it dry. Now to get your pitcher looking like new use baking soda & brush and a little water, it will remove the cloudiness.

    Here's another tip: if you replace the speed pot, you may find that the "D" shaft of the new pot does not line up properly with the front control markings after you slide the knob back on. Well, if that annoys you (it doesn't really matter of course), you can pick up cheap but cool-looking and honestly superior knobs made for musical instruments (electric guitars), there are a zillion varieties and they're like $5 for nice solid aluminum ones. Mostly those do not have "D" sockets, they're round, and they lock onto the pot shaft with little set screws. Thus you can use your cool guitar knob on the Vitamix and lock it in the correct orientation for the front markings, then tighten the set screw.

    Vitamix does indeed sell replacement blades - wet blades, dry blades, juicer blade assemblies.... (in the Vitamix Store at AMZ)
    I discovered this when Vitamix had their blade recall for the top seals of the blades in the blenders being defective. Tiny flecks of black polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) were mixed into the blended food and drink.

    • @TheSimpleHaus
      @TheSimpleHaus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good to know! When I called and asked, they said they didn’t. But I’m not sure when they had this recall. Hopefully others have more luck than me.

    Just called Vitamix about having our 2 non-functioning blenders fixed. "Best thing is to buy a new one, then send in your old one and we'll pay you $100 for it." Ha! A very high-handed approach to customer care. I won't be replacing them. Can't buy into that philosophy. Incredible that you can't have a broken switch fixed (or whatever is wrong) for a reasonable repair fee. Not happy.

    • @TheSimpleHaus

    your g series vitamix will fit the classic tall 64 oz container, which is so much more readily available on the market, whether a whole container or just the blade alone. now i am talking about actual vitamix parts made by vitamix and not third party parts. the down side is the container is too tall it might not fit for under the counter if you place the container on the base. the up side the tall container will make smoother smoothies and smoother nut butters, and it can make small portion without any problem. where as with the 64 oz low profile container it's so much harder to make small portion.

    • @TheSimpleHaus
      @TheSimpleHaus  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't realize that the taller container would fit my base. I have to admit, even though the taller more narrow container would work better in some instances, I'm not sure I would ever buy one. I have a few relatives that have the tall container, and I just can't get used to how it works. Since I started with the low profile container, I just learned how to get the results I want in different ways. However, thanks so much for sharing this information!!!

    In older models the variable pot (potentiometer) was/is a common issue. With shipping these cost around $50 to $60 bucks. I found the actual pot for far less but there was a minimum order of 4. So I bought 4 pots at about $8 each but now I'll have to transfer wiring and do some soldiering.
