I believe I have the same thing going on for a friends bike. The part is hard to see in video but can we access from the other side so we don’t have to remove that cover again. This all started cause we replaced the stator and regulator then it wouldn’t go back into gear. Could use some advise here

Hey man idk if you’re still active on this video but I’m trying to do the same thing. What’s stopping me is the damn shift rod is STUCK. I can’t pull it out. How did you manage to get her free???

I don't think he did it like he said. The space is too small. Design flaw with Honda. Let the mechanic do it to not further damage your motorcycle worse

Hey man, I bought a non running 2001 honda shadow 750 ace. I got it running and tuned, but when I took it out for a test drive I only had 1st neutral and 2nd gears
i turned around and headed back home. I adjusted the clutch cable because it seemed sloppy then I took it out again . Started out fine i shifted through 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th I then stopped to get gas after that I came to a stop sign and couldnt down shift past 3rd no 2nd gear or 1st gear. I only had 3rd and up. Would you have any ideas as to what would cause this? Thanks

I would pull the right side cover and see if the shifter was out of time

If you remove that sub frame on a honda shadow 800 you have to pull both sides of the exhaust then pull the bolt out do yourself a favor turn the bolt the other way we're the nut is on the passenger side of the bike .also pull the retaining clip off pull the spring add a washer put the spring back on and the retaining clip. Your welcome.

Did it work or what? I got a 86 and its stuck in neutral. Has a bunch of play in shifter but wont shift gears and is sitting very far upward like not even close to the regular resting spot

Ya this was my issue and it was fixed when I got done. If you pulled the right cover off you can check it fairly easy

Did it work? I’ve got the exact same problem

This definitely fixed it and it doesn't take anything to knock the shifter out of time

My ‘98 VT1100c-3 started jumping gears today, outta nowhere it would seem. I go to downshift from 4th or 5th (whatever gear would engage to get me home) and it’s not finding a gear, just like it went to neutral. I do it 2 or 3 more limes, same result. Then finally on one of my downshifts it’ll engage. Doesn’t seem to be biased as to which gears it will or won’t engage in, sometimes third will work and so on. I did notice it seemed like the bike was easier to push backwards with clutch pulled and that made me wonder if the final was not connected. I’m an old chain-driven guy so I saw this and thought there may be some correlation with the swing arm or such. Thanks for any feedback!

How long did it take you to get it to mesh up? I’ve been fighting with mine for a couple days now

I have a Honda Shadow 1100. Also my car is Honda. Serious design flaw with Honda. I have the same problem. Impossible to mesh up and re-align DIY because space is too small. After diagnosing the problem. I will ask the trusted mechanic to realign as you basically have to take the motorcycle apart to do this and replace gaskets.

Nobody knows what that is if you don’t point to it I have no clue what part you’re talking about I understand the drawing but the video isn’t specific enough
