Majestic. This is the first time I heard for Pierne and I am amazed how beautiful and serious is this peace. Some elements and technique of composing are very similar to Rachmaninov, Chopin, Liszt, Gershwin but on the other side is unique and well done. Every element of this piece is beautiful and natural and it can stand as major piece as pieces of grand composers as I mentioned before here. And finally I can hear good composition of not famous composer and enjoy to this music as much as famous composers. I am so happy I can play the music professionally and feel it with my heart and the entire my body. Great performance.
Ive been searching for this piece for a very long time! I can't search it on TH-cam, thinking another vid was deleted. I even mistakenly thought it's Faure's! Thanks, man! I hope this vid is for keeps! ❤️
Genuinely my favourite concerto ever. It's so witty and passionate. The big romantic theme in the first movement is really shiver inducing in the build up to it's climax. Thanks for posting!
The beggining is stunningly beautiful, and yet surprisingly original. The theme in 2:08 is something I've never heard before, it's a pure wit and class at once, great!
The first movement is actually Maestoso - Allegro deciso. I never knew until I saw the score that there was an upbeat before the start of the main Allegro in the first movement that the soloist just totally skipped.
Love those chords in the beginning. The swell from the orchestra afterwords are like a beam of light shining through a dark sky.

You're welcome, fam. :)
Another nice piano concerto I discover thanks to you. Thanks!
For a split second, the piano's opening reminded me of Chopin's Nocturne No. 13 in C minor

Glad you enjoyed this one as much as I did. :D

A perfect trap for the ones who compare. *heheheh*
+thenameisgsarci Are you saying that comparison is somehow wrong?
Not necessarily. While it is healthy to be influenced, I believe that taking the less-beaten path is good as well.
2:32 1812 Overture
Very nice concerto, loved the first movement the most but all three were fun. Another composer that I'd never heard before. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome. :D

On a close listening, he doesn't skip it - it's just so fast that you barely hear it.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Superb concerto! I was lookin' at it so many time! thx'u!!
You're welcome. Keep on looking at everything else, too, please... :D
19:41 Chopin's Etude op. 25 no. 10, anyone? I like this concerto xD
Oh, LOL. XD
Yes....lovely! Followed by an echo of Tschaikowski's 1st Piano Concerto (1st Movement)....Charming!
Hermoso concierto!
Lovely 2nd theme in the 1st movement, kinda like a French Rachmaninov
It's more like Rachmaninov is a Russian Pierné.

Very much worse sound than of the original recording.
Disgusting!
I don't know how it is possible to wreck down an otherwise well recording.
