"This is standard..." typical management response. Give orders and the lower ranking ones have no choice but to follow, at the expense of their own safety. Easy for them to say since they sit in their bloody office anyway.
I am a property agent with Propnex now. My first job was with SMRT (about 15 years ago) as a technical officer. Technical staffs regardless of race all work together like brothers. May God give the family peace
i was wondering why de hell the occ or control centre gave the train operator to drive in auto when they know that some maint people are working on tbe tracks ??
why is the workers there during train working hours? Because if it causes a breakdown, people are going to complain, so they deployed people down to investigate. Now that an accident's happened, ya'll are just dodging responsibility by saying it's their fault for being there?
+Indra Arfiande Seems like irrationality brought you here. Death clouds our judgement, often times we end up favoring the dead more so than the actual reasoning. Yes, it is probably wise not to go on the tracks when the train is on duty. But one could argue that if none were to do so, say a large or semi large object happens to be right on the train track. It could possibly derailed the train. And I wager you would argue about that as well, why didn't they put people to remove the object. Before you do a heavy research on that, know that was an example. Much like how the butterfly effect works, a minute problem could cause an inevitably large problem at the end.
+Hakim Games Well, not really. I'm not part of "those" you think I am because my perception regarding this matter is wider than most; having to bring down to a mere sided view which eventually brought frustration, and anger towards the higher end. If it is part of the SOP, so be it. There's nothing that you could do about it. Save your speculations for someone else. I'm just not who you thought, buddy. Cheers.
+Indra Arfiande When you say wider than most, elaborate specifically. "Apparently, as told by the CEO of SMRT, it's "standard" procedure. Absolute bullocks." It doesn't really look like it. And before I elaborate on anything aside from the first statement, I would advise you to read it through; the whole thing. "Having to bring down to a mere sided view which eventually brought frustration, and anger towards the higher end." Yes - I agree - we being the example of that anger and frustration. You're describing denial and often times denial leads to anger; irrational anger. I'm speaking in rationality and reason - with no emotions tied my statements, I assure you. "If it is part of the SOP, so be it." I'm glad that you saw it in my perspective, I hope that widens your perception even more. Because even the wisest heed the counsel of others and even the smartest have much to learn. "There's nothing that you could do about it." What are you talking about? I never uttered anything in relation to that statement that is in context of it. Here is my statement that closely resembles what you're implying, but is out of context; emphasis on "OUT OF CONTEXT". "Yes, it is probably wise not to go on the tracks when the train is on duty. But one could argue that if none were to do so, say a large or semi large object happens to be right on the train track. It could possibly derailed the train. And I wager you would argue about that as well, why didn't they put people to remove the object." You see, I don't want them to change. If I could I would advise them to make it safer. But they would already know that since the incident had already happened. So it is redundant. "Save your speculations for someone else. I'm just not who you thought, buddy." As I read through your first comment, it seems that my input is rightfully yours and those who have the same mentality that happens to read it. It widens your perspective, did it not? Which is funny - really. "Sawako Apparently, as told by the CEO of SMRT, it's "standard" procedure. Absolute bullocks." Do you see it, that obvious sarcasm? The contradiction to your newest input - I mean. Although, I digress. This could be a whole misunderstanding; miscommunication is inevitable after all. So sincerest apologies for my demeaning demeanor and whatever miscommunication we have. Good day.
something very wrong! should thoroughly review all safety procedures. there is only 2 train operators, SBS transit and SMRT, get LTA and both train operators to audit each other on all safety procedures and most important the attitudes of work safety are almost important.
did the two man walked on tracks instead of the pavement? How can the supervisor not get hit if the pavement was not safe. my point is, how did they die? I'm curious.
+litlemisscuriious They crossed the track to access the device, but the train came from the opposite track as it entered Platform 2 and they escaped in the path of the train, thus getting hit. The supervisor managed to escape to the walkway in time before the train hit the two men.
Sam kee your right everytime because he have a massege or facebook news and games witch call danger pls dont use phone when you driving singapor defence ourself
Why couldn't they let the train reach the final station first? Too complacent indeed! They are trainees, man! They aren't trained to die so young! It is always the same case. Only actions are to be taken whenever any tragic accident happens. Do you want me to comment about the parapets of MRT platforms I've suggested in their feedback form, long before they had decided to construct it to prevent recurrence of suicidal cases and other foreseeable accidents. Yes, foreseeable accidents because some of them fell off the edge accidentally. Sorry, no lame excuse! I don't buy it at all! Our SMRT were constructed by former stupid petite engineers and stupid petite architects just to cut cost unnecessarily. Come on! Get a big size 7-footer engineers and big size 7-footer architects to construct our infrastructure wider and safely.
I agree, the supervisor/management were sort of useless to let such an accident happen. SMRT should hire people that prioritise safety for a safer system both for workers and commuters.
u do know that we are still lucky in the fact that in countries like us, none of these hva even been implemented. and there has been many videos and sightings of this happening yet we are all not grateful but still blame smrt for everything happening
Does SMRT upper management take responsibility for the loss of men under their command? Nope. Hope the police turns this into a criminal investigation and charge them. I'm sure as the former Chief of Defence Force the SMRT should understand command responsibility and undertake the appropriate response as a honourable gentleman and former commissioned officer of the SAF and not cowardly hide behind his staff and hang on to his position of incompetence.
SMRT Is correct They should be in there to check if there is a problem even if it's Working hours because if they don't check it, Maybe we are the ones that will die
i feel sad that the 2 workers who were hit by the train were still young and just worked at SMRT for just 2 months
+Luqmanul Hakim supervisor Bodoh type confirmed
Me too
Only 2 months ? So short RIP them
Me too same
How
The driver must feel so bad. Rest In Peace both of them. 😢

+Alda Izaak then what could you have done then? This is an unfortunate accident; that pathway was a designated safe path.
I like how the residents said that it can't be help
I am a property agent with Propnex now. My first job was with SMRT (about 15 years ago) as a technical officer. Technical staffs regardless of race all work together like brothers. May God give the family peace
If there was an accident or death, don't fucking complain about the damn disruption
At first they didn't know
i was wondering why de hell the occ or control centre gave the train operator to drive in auto when they know that some maint people are working on tbe tracks ??
👍👍👍👍
Apparently he or she can do that. Don't you know?? It's normal and please repeat the video to find out the reasons.

This should not have happened. Ridiculous

+Harry Li so the supervisior is safe? why wasn't he the one who was interviewed
+YGS monster because he wants to be anonymous. Everyone will hate him since he's the one that should be responsible...
+Jack Li i guess sometimes Shit happens
Another accident occurred today, a collision between two SMRT trains. A few weeks before, the tunnels were flooded. Have SMRT learnt anything since?
Now, another accident occurred last month between Aljunied and Bugis MRT Station on the same line.

Thought they have elevated floor or underpass to cross the track? Stingy SMRT trying to save money by having workers cross track at level ground.
