@@avocado1845it is also because in the older games he genuinely sucked. In portable he starts at 37 with three skills being Counter,Regen 1 and Fatal End (which at that point is an outdated attack). He doesn’t learn another damaging Skill until 52 (Blade of Fury). Sure his Final Skillset is great but no one would have ever known unless they did excessive grinding.

Honestly, why couldn't his soul just have been lingering on, eager to finish his job so that he can actually pass on with no regrets? -would've been a great antithesis to Nyx and Erebus.-
It's amusing how I just reached mid December (+- 65 hours thus far) and the Reaper never spawned, my characters never got "tired" after a Tartarus incursion... honestly, it almost looks like the game is bugged somehow. But anyway, the damn thing never ends, but it's a good game overall
The reaper spawns when you stay in a tartarus floor for too long, roughly around 3/4 minutes, in a dark room it spawns much faster in around 1-2 minutes, I had it spawn on me one day when I got lost in a dark room that was too big glad I have the "LET ME GTFO FUUKA" emergency button

As a character she is the cliche "kawai saint" (the same exact Aerith cliche), so it's not super interesting or anything, but her abilities outclass all the other navigators. And the Reaper finally spawned in my game, floor 240+, dark room, finally the reaper showed up. No sign of the "tired" gimmick, I left Tartarus many times with characters drained from their HP and SP, they never get tired

on ng+ its easy. just spam kill reaper every floor with armageddon since you have it early and this is definitely ng+ because Messiaha cant be made untill last moment of the game.
