I do this on my 2020 A5, and it's super easy, quick and clean. I'm not comfortable with 10k oil change intervals, so I can do my own at 5k miles for $50-$55, depending on how much oil costs at the time. My oil extractor was $55, and it has a hand pump and a pneumatic connection. So it paid for itself after the first oil change.

I agree. When oil changes are this easy, it makes it even more enjoyable because it’s quick, clean and effortless. Car should run well for many more miles to come.

Well done. Been using this method on my ‘14 Q5 2.0. The easiest oil change ever. Wish all cars were this easy. I change once per year or 5k miles, which ever comes first. Thanks for posting.

Nicely done and I like it a lot too. I do 5K miles or every 6 months :- )

Nice information!! May i ask i only suck out 4.5Litre oil ( exactly the same model 45tfsi 2.0t) are you able to suck more oil from it?

Hello. You should extract all of the out oil and refill with new.

    • @Lins恩-g4i
      @Lins恩-g4i 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes i did my best. I use a small diameter suction tube and tried extracted all, but it is only 4.5L/4.7qt (manual said should be 5.5 qt ) so i just put back exactly the same volume 4.5L of new oil.
And almost stuck the tube by jamming the teeth of oil turbine down below in the process😂
because i saw less than expected oil out so i stuck it very deep
i wonder how much was your extraction volume.
Oh btw how did you cancel the inspection interval due warning light ~~

I understand and I’m sure you’re fine. Mine was 7 liter capacity I believe. It was the biggest one I found on Amazon. To reset: menu, toggle left on knob, select vehicle, service interval, reset oil meter, reset.

      @@512TXSDIYi see, thank you Sir.
We have the same engine bay though, 2020 Q5 45tfsi 2.0t. You're sure it is 7 liter?

No, what I am saying is my extractor is 7 liters. This car should only take about 6 qts.

Maybe, but my question would be why then does Audi recommend 5w-30.

Depends on what region you’re in. As long as you’re changing the oil and selecting options that meet your specifications or preference, you’re good to go. Any VW502 Oil will work.

Did you install the dipstick shown at the start of the video? AUDI'S do not come with dipsticks.

I purchased it separately, yes. Dipstick is better to me instead of instrument cluster. Both methods work though.

Just so you know. Angry pixies change the hood tab so that the direction is always the exact opposite for the direction you intend to push. This is universal constant, and also applies to all USB ports. BUT I would like to know where you got the dipstick. I would love to be able to check the physical condition of the oil and its oil level.

Does your Q5 need a 1qt oil refill after few thousands of miles? or it always stays above min level before the interval due

    • @512TXSDIY

My turbo charged (this one) never needs top offs. My supercharged white one needs about 2 qts between oil changes though

I haven’t experienced it on the 2.0 yet but the manual even says that oil burn off is normal functioning of a performance car like this so you’re fine. Keep a qts in your car.

btw i had a few performance cars, 991.2 and F80 M3 competition, they all don't consume oil more than a qt before 10k interval reached.

Gotcha. Most of my Audis require a top off. I rarely wait until 10,000 for oil changes. I normally do mine every 6 months or 5,000 miles, whichever comes first.
