Minor correction I wish I caught sooner. Kid Em is getting slight buffs to her caps, while Adult Em is the one getting light nerfs. Those caps were ridiculous, outpacing EVERYONE in their specialities. I get that this endgame reward shouldnt really be dialed back, but she doesn't need to be able to solo the game's last two dungeons at such a relatively low level.
Love Emeralda, Double Ether, and pumping Joe's Ether upgrades into her, is just lol for the final dungeons. Would love to see there be more variation in on ground, and in gear battles near the end of the game the balancing feels like they completely forgot that the characters could get out of the gears. Great to see the process play out.
We unfortunately are unable to add new content. The way the game is structured makes it extremely complicated to insert files without tools to keep everything organized.
This game needs a remake and a proper disc 2! I never cared for emeralda. I remember playing a demo disc with this game on it back before launch. Loved it then, love it now. They keep putting out pricey action figures and model builds you can paint. This gives me hope they'll eventually revisit the game, too. Otherwise, they'd just let it die.
That's my hope too. I would want a remaster that updated visuals something along the lines of Octopath Traveler. But most importantly would be a proper disc 2 segment of the game, for which I feel that they would have to hire some of the original team to make cohesive. Shoot, why not hire Perfect Works here to help? They are already doing an amazing job of it and with some extra funding and official support they can really cook. A remake would be way more than we need here because that second disc segment is what's most important I feel.
@josecruz8803 the super mario rpg switch and metroid prime remaster are perfect examples of what they should do with xenogears. Definitely do not do ff7R to xenogears, please 🙏. That'd ruin it.
@@thefireysoul I enjoy FF7R but that is the exact example of a direction that I would not like to see Xenogears go. Spend more money on getting the right people to do the right job, instead of overhauling it like that which I feel most fans would not like. Spend more on advertising, which the original Xenogears never got.
@@thefireysoul Be careful what you wish for. People use remaster/remake as being the same, but a remake is like how Starfox 64 is a remake of the SNES version or Metroid Zero Mission is a remake of the NES game. Remasters by and large keep the gameplay intact, mostly updating the presentation, but in the case of Xenogears, they probably should update the battle system as evidenced by this mod. And they need to realize disc 2's content. Xenogears is a cult classic, but it's ultimately an unfinished game.
For Esmeralda, I usually end up equipping Double Ether and only using Ether powers, just like Elly. If she gets faster, it might allow for spamming Ether attacks one after another, which could break the combat balance. Will there be any balancing regarding Ether? Since the damage it deals is very powerful, even stronger than Combo Levels when using gears. Here are some thoughts I have: Here’s a note for studying and analyzing the balance of Ether, as it’s easy to spam this power, and recovering EP with items is also very simple and not expensive. Just like Combo Levels, I understand that spells are divided into three categories. So I’d like to suggest comparing the damage between Ether and physical attacks. For example: Level 1 = Strike + Combo 1 = X Damage. 2 turns Level 2 = Strike + Strike + Combo 1 = Y Damage. 3 turns Level 3 = Strike + Strike + Strike + Combo 1 = Z Damage. 4 turns I believe the damage dealt by Ether should be lower than the sum of physical damage (in relation to its use in GEARS). Consider the number of turns it takes to deal Level 3 damage in Gear combat, which would be 4 turns, while Ether attacks only take 1 turn. P.S. In cases of elemental weaknesses, the damage would be increased or decreased.

I was always completely captivated by her visual design and beautiful color scheme. I wish more of the series were like Gears than Saga.
I love Gear concept of Emeralda.
Her gear is my favorite design and the deathblows are amazingly cool

Emeralda is pretty much Elly and Rico pre-buff on speed shoes with much better accuracy and evade.
An Ether Doubler always fixed everything for her in base game 😉
Emeralda is a better Elly.
