Anyway, Italy is improving, it is true, but we have not to forget that Ireland, France, England, Scotland and Wales are top teams and we have to go on working hard for staying at their level in the future. Watching the Italian game progress over the last few years has been a joy to watch. If they continue to evolve as they are doing, I could envisage an Italian squad dominating the Six Nations. Good on Italy this season it's great for the competition, but it's hard to know 'if they'd (other nations) do any better' since there is no promotion to prove or disprove how well Georgia, say, would have done if they'd been given a quarter of a century to play in the Six Nations without the threat of relegation.

I am absolutely in awe of this young Italian team. The failures, the losses, the ridicule, the not so funny comments have all been kicked away with FACTS.
The fact italy were actually really close to winning this whole thing is incredible. A couple tight games that went in their favour and we could've been talking about one of the most amazing stories ever.
Genuinely, if they'd got their deserved win against France and the England game had gone the other way it could've been a very different 6N. Frankly I think it just shows how close all of the 6N are right now. Ireland is still the best but they're not the unbeatable juggernauts some thought. Wales also, despite having a bad tournament really have had moments where they shined.
As a proud Welshman and in the stadium, that scoreline flattered us massively, we were completely outplayed and looked clueless large portions of the game. Well done to Italy , to think if the officials had done their job properly and let garbisi have another kick at goal against France this could be their third win of the championship, great to see. We have a lot of rebuilding to do particularly at 10 🏉

I’m going to as well repeat my comments from last week this young Italian side never ceases to amaze me it is absolutely amazing what these young lads can do looks like Italian rugby is a force to be reckoned with now it’s been a long time coming congratulations on your big win
This is not surprisingly to be honest though. It's the first generation (2000+) that has been groomed in the Celtic League/ FIR academy pipeline. These players have only known elite level rugby throughout their career. Beforehand they'd first go through the Italian league, which is nowhere close to that level. What is most amazing is the roster depth italy now has. For many years Italy was able to do well in the first half but would collapse once the backups came in. Today Italy didn't have Capuozzo, and Pani, the backup, was among the best players on the field.

We're finally starting to see all the investments made at grassroots level in Italy pay off and as you say Italy now has depth which they lacked before. If one good player is out due to injury there are other good players to replace him.

I am a Welsh fan but congratulate Italy, Wales have been poor this year. I've always liked the way Italy played, even back in the days of Sergio Parisse a great No 8.
As an Italian I'm happy to see that we finally have a competitive team. We know that all the other countries participating in the Six Nations have a stronger rugby culture and that it might be that in the next years we could and probably be last again but we're quite happy of this surprising result.

Italy look like a team on the up, exciting young players in the team, they’re certainly no joke anymore, fair play to them! That being said, it’s sad to see Wales in the position they are. I remember watching them back in 2005 with the likes Henson, Williams and Hook, they were a real force back then. Much love from SA 🇿🇦
After being annihilated 96-17 by the All Blacks in RWC 2023 pool play I wondered if the result may affect the Italian team in a negative way, but it appears not to have. They were incredibly unlucky not to have beaten France in this Six Nations tournament but have not dropped their heads and gone and beaten Scotland and Wales on consecutive weekends. I hope they can build on this momentum going forward.
@@teiloturner2760 Even the men did an awful job mostly overruling the field refree...a thing absolutely to not allow. Other times not noticing real evident faults (and that should be the wirk of a TMO, not forcing the refree to take a decision that refree didn't think necessary).
As an Italian i am very proud of the team and for the amazing level that 6 nations finally reached. Now all the teams are able to win any match therefore so next tournament will be epic. I am so happy for 6 nations right now because we can finally play well any match against anyone.

The fact italy were actually really close to winning this whole thing is incredible. A couple tight games that went in their favour and we could've been talking about one of the most amazing stories ever.
Genuinely, if they'd got their deserved win against France and the England game had gone the other way it could've been a very different 6N. Frankly I think it just shows how close all of the 6N are right now. Ireland is still the best but they're not the unbeatable juggernauts some thought. Wales also, despite having a bad tournament really have had moments where they shined.
They failed to score against Ireland but Italy are a great team.

Its good for the 6 Nations, and rugby in general, to have Italy in the mix, winning games.
As a proud Welshman and in the stadium, that scoreline flattered us massively, we were completely outplayed and looked clueless large portions of the game. Well done to Italy , to think if the officials had done their job properly and let garbisi have another kick at goal against France this could be their third win of the championship, great to see.
We have a lot of rebuilding to do particularly at 10 🏉

I’m going to as well repeat my comments from last week this young Italian side never ceases to amaze me it is absolutely amazing what these young lads can do looks like Italian rugby is a force to be reckoned with now it’s been a long time coming congratulations on your big win
This is not surprisingly to be honest though. It's the first generation (2000+) that has been groomed in the Celtic League/ FIR academy pipeline. These players have only known elite level rugby throughout their career. Beforehand they'd first go through the Italian league, which is nowhere close to that level. What is most amazing is the roster depth italy now has. For many years Italy was able to do well in the first half but would collapse once the backups came in. Today Italy didn't have Capuozzo, and Pani, the backup, was among the best players on the field.
@@bimbogiallo definitely and what’s more amazing is that most of these guys are under 25 The players and the fans must be so happy that they won’t get the wooden spoon They’ve had that for the last 10 years or so like I said last week over the next few years do not underestimate the squad they will shock a few teams that’s for sure
We're finally starting to see all the investments made at grassroots level in Italy pay off and as you say Italy now has depth which they lacked before. If one good player is out due to injury there are other good players to replace him.

I am a Welsh fan but congratulate Italy, Wales have been poor this year. I've always liked the way Italy played, even back in the days of Sergio Parisse a great No 8.
Italy nearly finished 2nd this year...wow what an improvement.
As an Italian I'm happy to see that we finally have a competitive team. We know that all the other countries participating in the Six Nations have a stronger rugby culture and that it might be that in the next years we could and probably be last again but we're quite happy of this surprising result.
Great job guys, humility and a lot of work To beat a great team like Wales... We have to continue like this and prove that we are worthy of playing with the other 5 great nations of the tournament

Italy look like a team on the up, exciting young players in the team, they’re certainly no joke anymore, fair play to them! That being said, it’s sad to see Wales in the position they are. I remember watching them back in 2005 with the likes Henson, Williams and Hook, they were a real force back then. Much love from SA 🇿🇦

After being annihilated 96-17 by the All Blacks in RWC 2023 pool play I wondered if the result may affect the Italian team in a negative way, but it appears not to have.
They were incredibly unlucky not to have beaten France in this Six Nations tournament but have not dropped their heads and gone and beaten Scotland and Wales on consecutive weekends. I hope they can build on this momentum going forward.

@@teiloturner2760 Even the men did an awful job mostly overruling the field refree...a thing absolutely to not allow. Other times not noticing real evident faults (and that should be the wirk of a TMO, not forcing the refree to take a decision that refree didn't think necessary).
