This is the type of punditry I wanna see more of. Focusing on what it's like to manage a yo-yo team without much money and the grind that comes with that
Well that just blatantly isn’t true is it, yeah he did that at qpr, however with Pompey, as he is saying in this video, he kept us up when we were bottom at Christmas.
That's literally what he did, said he's got knee problems come Feb and just a few months later was sacked from Birmingham languishing in the Championship relegation zone
Harry has to be one of or if not the most underrated managers of all time he's always done the job asked of him at any team he's managed and I'm a gooner but I always liked him even tho he managed the yids I still always seemed to have a soft spot for him
Erm... Harry got Bournemouth, Southampton and QPR relegated. Also Got sacked in his last job by Birmingham as they were stuck in the relegation zone losing 8 of their first 13 games. Not to mention the absolute financial mess Harry left Portsmouth in, resulting in them going into administration multiple times and getting relegated all the way down to league 2.
Your so right. I support Southampton. He came to us from Portsmouth got us relegated and guess what he did.? Went straight back to Portsmouth and ruined them financially.
Harry didn’t bankroll the signings himself. The chairman did it and he actually kept Brum up in very short time just didn’t work out the next season. Won FA cup with Pompey and took spurs into the UCL. Who was the last English manager to do that?
Redknapp didn't run the finances..... If he gets told he has X amount. He spends it. Like any manager. he's not closing the accounts, and managing the budget
Jordan Matthew was possibly unfortunate at blues considering he was sacked after about 11 games in new season. Would’ve given him until about Christmas as Steve Cotterill didn’t improve the team at all.
He took Southampton down and did a runner from QPR before their relegation was confirmed. He kept Pompey up then bankrupted them by spending loads of invisible cash. But yeah, let's all listen to Harry's advice.
@randomm User1237589 Chelsea still a much smaller club and theyd have a similar rep to palace or qpr if it wasnt for abramovich pumping billions into the club. Take 10 random chelsea fans off the street and I'd be surprised if even 1 of them was a Chelsea fan prior to 2003.
I like Cardiff but they're down for me. One or two injuries and they just don't have the squad depth to cover for it, few too many games near the end of the season and they'll leak goals. Not to mention the tragedy with losing their new signing, I think if the player would have arrived he would have lifted the entire squad being such a big money signing and clearly a quality striker. I think the Man City result and the Almiron signing will see Newcastle stay up, Southampton and Burnley have a bit too much quality to be relegated.
"Spend £30m on a few players that don't fit in a system together and then resign before its confirmed and then let someone else take the blame". This guy is such a fraud.
Southampton relegated, Resigned from QPR because of his knee when facing relegation and sacked by Birmingham after spending loads of money and near the relegation zone. Oh and financially crippled Portsmouth....
Also..Harry doesn't like being called a 'wheeler dealer' yet he talks it up here saying 'Got a special deal off the Tottenham chairman (Daniel Levy), buy 2 get one free'. Not a wheeler dealer then Harry?
Don’t care what u think of the man. He built some excellent sides and I think almost everyone had Pompey as a second team during his time there. Should have got the England job over Woy took spurs took another level.
I dont buy the notion that Harry overspent anywhere or wasted money throughout his managerial career. The blokes made money for every club hes managed and brought some quality players to the premier league. Pompey made a few quid on players like benjani, yakubu, johnson and diarra, he signed modric and van der vaart for spurs as well as players like Sandro and Kyle walker n Scott Parker not to mention the job he did at West ham. Freddie kanoute wound up going on to do alright for Sevilla after leaving the hammers and he was developing a fantastic side there prior to getting replaced by Glenn roeder.
Phone up Jamie, do a capapla dewls, bita bish bash bosh, twiffic players, hush hush keep it on the facking daaanlow saan, qwaaachy, qwaaaachar, four four two, big one, little one, tork abaaaat saaaaaandwaaa!!
btw kranjcar was a good player, if he's playing today, he'd be similarly well regarded as James Maddison, Niko could play.

This is the type of punditry I wanna see more of. Focusing on what it's like to manage a yo-yo team without much money and the grind that comes with that
Harry’s secret is to resign before it’s confirmed like at QPR 😂
@Sam Nyicon , he took them down. Peter Crouch was playing for him back then. His own son Jamie Redknapp was also in that team.
Sam Nyicon but Southampton were already gone when he took over. He got them winning a lot with Crouchy scoring a lot but it was too late
He was manager of qpr when they were relegated they drew 0-0 against reading who went down as well
Sign an aging Christopher Samba for 12 million and 100k a week
Was he really on that?
Drizzt Do'urden YES
Samba only lasted Feb-July to be fair lol. Only took a 500k fee hit as well
He wasn´t ageing tbf
Ali Pinder yeah, not as old as I thought
Harry has to be one of or if not the most underrated managers of all time he's always done the job asked of him at any team he's managed and I'm a gooner but I always liked him even tho he managed the yids I still always seemed to have a soft spot for him

Raymond Hillier won the FA cup though

DirtyyChimp that’s a bit of an overstatement, Chelsea had a pretty solid fan base way before 2003.
@@jonnysmyth9435 Yeah they did but it was a lot smaller than arsenal
Andreas Dellasandro is the little Argie redknapp bought in, revolutionised that team, played so well we couldn’t afford him next season 😂
Id listen to harry all day he knows the craic, everton job for him next
Haha Chrissy Houghton brought back memories of Chrissy Samba

Paul Hartson had his own pair
"Spend £30m on a few players that don't fit in a system together and then resign before its confirmed and then let someone else take the blame". This guy is such a fraud.
Spot on, but its never harrys fault.
By driving the club to the edge of bankruptcy if your following Dodgy ‘Arry’s method
Southampton relegated, Resigned from QPR because of his knee when facing relegation and sacked by Birmingham after spending loads of money and near the relegation zone. Oh and financially crippled Portsmouth....
5:08-5:24 Harry's not having any of that piss poor banter
Harry won X factor, I wonder if he paid a cheeky back hander
Also..Harry doesn't like being called a 'wheeler dealer' yet he talks it up here saying 'Got a special deal off the Tottenham chairman (Daniel Levy), buy 2 get one free'. Not a wheeler dealer then Harry?
Don’t understand why we don’t try him as England manager
Can't see the FA sacking Southgate anytime soon after getting to the semis of the WC.
So the secret of staying up is scoring a last minute worldie. Love to see that drawn up in the locker room.
What team was rednapp talking about
liamdor Portsmouth
Only ever won a major trophy at Pompey, realistically flopped everywhere else.
Have Pedro Mendes in your squad

I don't like the geezer but your transfer policy when Tony F took over was comparable to Fulham's this year.
It's between Brighton and Cardiff for me, Soton will stay close too
Hawwy Wedknapp!!!
*BENJIANI*
Harry Redknapp, who has been relegated at least 3 times
Don’t care what u think of the man. He built some excellent sides and I think almost everyone had Pompey as a second team during his time there. Should have got the England job over Woy took spurs took another level.
