This reminds me of reading time in the library when I was in elementary school. Quiet atmosphere with the librarian reading to the class or showing pictures from a book. You would be the best kindergarten or elementary school teacher. All the kids would love you. And for nap time it would be a breeze for you to get them asleep ;p

It's not so much her ability to induce sleep or tingles, but she approaches each object, each moment with such reverence, pointing out color, texture, shape and sound. She is right here, in the moment. By contrast, it is so opposite to how I normally live: hurried, driven, cluttered, sensory overloaded, and laden down with scattered thoughts. She calls attention to each moment and fully caresses it. She makes the unimportantl seem important. For me, 30 minutes here is more fulfilling than a whole day of trying to "get something" out of life. Seems the thing I am trying to get is to slow down and be here; to appreciate what is happening. To me, the whole ASMR "tingles" thing seems to be beside the point and a trivialization of this.

The first time I experienced ASMR was a video on how to make a paper plane. That night i couldn't stop searching for similar videos and this went on for days. Until one night i searched paper sounds and it came up with a video saying ASMR on it. I clicked it and she was whispering and omg the tingles were real. When she got the papers it was heaven. From that day on i watched ASMR videos while i go to bed. That is my story on how i learned about ASMR. Thanks for the video and the memories!😊

I like the simple videos, as well - soft spoken, (as opposed to whispering), simple instruction, and sounds (particularly paper folding and tape) are my favorite. I remember, as a kid, watching Mr. Rogers, and if he ever did anything with construction paper and tape I got mad tingles! :-) This is probably why my favorite videos are still Maria's older ones. I just wish they were longer! :-)

I remember a couple of years ago when my insomnia was really bad, I would worry about going to bed all day...and stress out if I wasn't asleep within 15 minutes of getting into bed (which of course I never was!) and being so tired one day at work that I stood aside to let my own reflection through a door...hahah!

Just today I watched your draw my life video, and I just want to say thank you for being so strong and pushing on in your life to get to where you are today, and making a video talking about it. I go through some tough days, and sometimes I feel really alone, and to fall asleep and forget the stress I watch your videos. To hear the person who relaxes me talk about overcoming struggles was really inspiring, so thank you so much for everything that you do. I love informative and instructive ASMR. It really is a sadly underrated genre, and I wish ASMR-artists like you, would do more of these, because it really makes it easy to immerse yourself, and just focus on the instructions/information. It also has the benefit of teaching you stuff, which i think is great! I recall having this teacher when I was a kid, who for whatever reason, triggered me with the way she spoke (quite softly, the way I recall) and I even remember that when she handed out papers to everyone, she would lick her finger, and that motion, together with the sound of the papers softly rubbing against each other, would totally get me. Back then I didn't know why I felt like that. I didn't tell anyone, I just enjoyed it. And I always listened carefully during her classes, even though I didn't nessecarily find her subject interesting. This is why I want to encourage ASMR-artists to use their unique powers, to enlighten us... or well, at least me :)

I think the perfect going-to-sleep / anti-anxiety video for me would be a guided relaxation video. I listen to these on CD sometimes and find them quite effective, but I think a simple, ear to ear whisper, guided relaxation video by Maria would beat them all!

this is great! when I was younger my sister and I had an entire collection of paper airplanes that we folded and decorated ourselves. they all had special names and stories, it was very elaborate. this video really reminded me of that and it's also very relaxing, so thank you!
I know asmr videos are normally filled with passive ( positive) comments flooding the comment section, but I am gradually worried about our Maria. In the beginning of the video she stated she "needed to rid of bad and hateful thoughts during the day" and I looked a bit through the comments to be surprised that no one picked that up! I hope Maria is not having thoughts of harming herself because of reasons unknown. A lot of people count on Maria here to sleep as do I but as of now I'm to worried to sleep, in fear that in the morning she will be gone forever. 😞😔 yes, I know this is late but no one knows if it is still going on or not... except her of course

Amazing video Maria! Fun story: When my 10 year old brother was in the hospital for a week, he and his room-mate terrorized the nurses who came in to check on them by bombarding them with an army of hundreds of paper fighter jets. Two kids with nothing better to do... :D The nurses had their hands full.
From 15:40 through 16:55 I get massive tingles when you tap/touch the paper planes box. The tapping/tracing noises really make me feel relaxed. I think I've replayed that moment over 30 times already. Other videos I've seen have too loud or too fast of a tapping motion. You always do it so perfect!
This vid reminds me of another one I saw some time ago. A dating expert was attempting to show the differences between men and women and their thought processes. She had a large group of people and she separated them into 2 groups, one of just men and the other of just women. Then she put them in separate rooms and gave them a task. In front of them all were sheets of paper along with some basic craft tools like glue, scissors, craft knife, etc. and she asked them to make the perfect paper aeroplane and gave them one hour to do so. Before she even had the words out of her mouth the men were already folding paper and making planes. The women on the other hand listened intently and then went to work. After the hour was up the men had literally dozens of different paper planes while the women didn't have a single one but wrote down all kinds of ideas for them. Anyway I found it kind of funny and thought I would pass it along. Cheers Maria.

I think the perfect going-to-sleep / anti-anxiety video for me would be a guided relaxation video. I listen to these on CD sometimes and find them quite effective, but I think a simple, ear to ear whisper, guided relaxation video by Maria would beat them all!

this is great! when I was younger my sister and I had an entire collection of paper airplanes that we folded and decorated ourselves. they all had special names and stories, it was very elaborate. this video really reminded me of that and it's also very relaxing, so thank you!

I know asmr videos are normally filled with passive ( positive) comments flooding the comment section, but I am gradually worried about our Maria. In the beginning of the video she stated she "needed to rid of bad and hateful thoughts during the day" and I looked a bit through the comments to be surprised that no one picked that up! I hope Maria is not having thoughts of harming herself because of reasons unknown. A lot of people count on Maria here to sleep as do I but as of now I'm to worried to sleep, in fear that in the morning she will be gone forever. 😞😔 yes, I know this is late but no one knows if it is still going on or not... except her of course

Fun story: When my 10 year old brother was in the hospital for a week, he and his room-mate terrorized the nurses who came in to check on them by bombarding them with an army of hundreds of paper fighter jets. Two kids with nothing better to do... :D The nurses had their hands full.

From 15:40 through 16:55 I get massive tingles when you tap/touch the paper planes box. The tapping/tracing noises really make me feel relaxed. I think I've replayed that moment over 30 times already. Other videos I've seen have too loud or too fast of a tapping motion. You always do it so perfect!

This vid reminds me of another one I saw some time ago. A dating expert was attempting to show the differences between men and women and their thought processes. She had a large group of people and she separated them into 2 groups, one of just men and the other of just women. Then she put them in separate rooms and gave them a task. In front of them all were sheets of paper along with some basic craft tools like glue, scissors, craft knife, etc. and she asked them to make the perfect paper aeroplane and gave them one hour to do so. Before she even had the words out of her mouth the men were already folding paper and making planes. The women on the other hand listened intently and then went to work. After the hour was up the men had literally dozens of different paper planes while the women didn't have a single one but wrote down all kinds of ideas for them. Anyway I found it kind of funny and thought I would pass it along. Cheers Maria.
