Love that the TH-cam algorithm brought me here (and happy belated birthday to Beyoncé). Yes, self-titled definitely was and still is A (and arguably THEE) moment in time for Beyoncé fans/stans and also music aficionados en masse. Besides the digital drop, Beyoncé dropped her guard and perfectionist mask and gave us a true look into her as a person. This album definitely set the tone for what and how she would creatively express herself afterward and has never failed to disappoint. ❤🎉
Self titled does has more aspects of vulnerability than lemonade but lemonade showcases a vulnerability that takes away from Beys image of perfection. Accepting oneselfs looks is easier when you look like Bey. Relationship doubts are standard and vague. But being cheated on and staying is different. Ppl say if Bey can be cheated on then anyone can. Ppl don’t say if Bey can accept herself anyone can. Ppl think she deserves better than to be cheated on and her staying in her relationship makes some look at her as less strong than they thought.
Personally b day is my fav. I don’t care about the sentiment. She screaming serving bops and made an unskipable project that still sounds fresh in spite of the minimal production and few week album process.
B’Day is my favorite. No Skips. It could be released today and could a bit!
