Love that the TH-cam algorithm brought me here (and happy belated birthday to Beyoncé). Yes, self-titled definitely was and still is A (and arguably THEE) moment in time for Beyoncé fans/stans and also music aficionados en masse. Besides the digital drop, Beyoncé dropped her guard and perfectionist mask and gave us a true look into her as a person. This album definitely set the tone for what and how she would creatively express herself afterward and has never failed to disappoint. ❤🎉

Self titled does has more aspects of vulnerability than lemonade but lemonade showcases a vulnerability that takes away from Beys image of perfection. Accepting oneselfs looks is easier when you look like Bey. Relationship doubts are standard and vague. But being cheated on and staying is different. Ppl say if Bey can be cheated on then anyone can. Ppl don’t say if Bey can accept herself anyone can. Ppl think she deserves better than to be cheated on and her staying in her relationship makes some look at her as less strong than they thought. Personally b day is my fav. I don’t care about the sentiment. She screaming serving bops and made an unskipable project that still sounds fresh in spite of the minimal production and few week album process.
B’Day is my favorite. No Skips. It could be released today and could a bit!
Man, as I am is the only album I vividly remember coming out. my brother got the album for me for Christmas that year. I was nine years old in 2007 so I was old enough to experience it. i’m 25 now.
They got it right putting miseducation at number one but I’m disappointed no Taylor album is there

@@123theprodigy5 I was 3 when As I Am came out, I kind of remember being introduced Alicia Keys around 2009 when I was 5, but I became a super fan and started studying her music in 2018.

she's great! most of her mainstream, billboard success was in the early 90s, and she's credited much more for neo-soul. i was talking about the mainstream sound of r&b in the very late 90's and early 2000's specifically. Alicia's music was consistently mainstream, from debut to third album and her sound was different from any other mainstream r&b artist.

@@DaymoJH my video is about me believing Alicia’s is the strongest, she’s a solo writer as well as a producer, a lot goes into why i think that. her debut song was solo written, which went #1 her second single on her sophomore was also solo written and produced- and also the first solo written song to reach 1 billion streams. she’s the highest selling female r&b artist of the millennium. i like writers and producers, artists that can do that solo.
in my opinion, there are few artists that can’t write and produce at least a few songs on their own that deserve any title of “strongest.” when it comes to creating albums.

Yes, Diary was good and very different from her other album before it. But to answer your question at the beginning, my favorite R&B artist is Brandy, and her third album, Full Moon, was amazing.

Definitely one of the best. Not her debut, but I would strongly recommend Rhythm Nation - janet. - The Velvet Rope with Janet as one of the best runs also.
