I was beyond frustrated trying to click into my Peloton. After watching your video, I popped out the rubber circle on the cleats, and the shoes clicked right in! Thank you for saving me from having to return my cleats or call customer service!!
So glad to hear and thank you for taking time to leave a comment. And you had the round rubber piece. People don't believe me when I share that it is not exclusive to a specific cleat. Thank you soooo much for this video! I called Peloton 3 times about this issue and they kept telling me it was a manufacturing defect in the shoe. No one knew how to fix this issue or what was going on. As soon as I removed that stupid rubber piece - I clipped in so easily! I searched high and low for an answer to this issue and you are the only resource on the internet with this solution! Thanks so much for this info!!!

I tried tightening the screws on the cleat, tried moving the cleat in different positions and it's still not working properly. I can step into the pedal and I hear a click. @@askthefitter4873 Thanks for the warm reply. As a long time bike commuter, this is my step to get back in the saddle - and this info was a great help.
Calling Peloton support, they were polite but it was clear they were trained to wait for 20+ minutes to listen to me struggle unsuccessfully. It's not just the cost of parts, shipping, and time, but the goodwill of brand new customers.
@@JohnThomsonJr Thanks for sharing this. Mostly glad you figured things out. If there is anything we can ever do let us know.
I see you were still able to clip in the shoe even with the black piece sticking up.. I can't seem to get mine in at all! Is this the same issue? Should i pop mine out?
Great question, there are many reasons why clipping in can be a challenge. I would start with removing the rubber piece. If still a challenge we can move on to the next thing it could be. I just like to hit the most likely first.
Yes to get it working I would pop out the rubber piece. If there is still an issue let me know. This is about 99% but I am pretty good at the 1% as well if needed. I am here if needed. #ridelearngrow
Removing the rubber triangle worked instantly for me and helped with clipping in and clipping out on the first try! Thank you! What’s the purpose for the rubber in the first place, and will removing it impact performance over time? Thanks!
Thanks for the note. Glad it helped. I think I posted on my facebook page what it does Facebooke AskTheFitter
