- 5 New Features I'd Love in the Minecraft Nether Update- In minecraft we've been spoiled with new updates, 1.14 and the new 1.15 with bees is coming up. I thought i'd like to share some new feature Ideas i had for the 1.16 Nether update due next year. All of these minecraft feature demonstrations are prototypes and not how they might actually look. Let me know which are your favourites!

Yeah I didn't think through the brimstone vanishing in lava the second you find it. I guess that could be part of the challenge or maybe it's in an air pocket instead? All just rough concepts and ideas!

Dr Who The Piglins aré enemies to the Wither Skeleton and they like to fight each other often
knows first house was never a dirt house it was a 1 by 2 hole in the ground to escape by the mobs
The “piglin village has already been announced and is called a “bastion”.
They literally only wrote one line about it though so there’s not much to go on
And as far as i know, the piglins are not going to replace the pigman. They are something new.

I think the geysers should fire intermittently instead of only when you jump on them.
Also renamed to Steam Vents or Lava Geysers. Since water cant exist in the Nether and i dont think they intend to break that?

This is what I was going to comment. If you find one in the overworld it takes you to a broken one in the nether and vice versa
animeking1357 It kinda makes getting to the nether easier. It is already pretty easy but it seems to be hard for many beginners because they die in lava while trying to obtain obsidian.

The wither would have destroyed that. There wouldn't be broken ones, there would be nothing.
@@Eywalian and that's a good thing. Minecraft is too easy right now. The recipe book for example. Before it was added, players had to remember the recipies, discover them on their own or search for them in the internet. Another example: Phantom. It might sound stupid, but this is how the game is punishing you for not skipping the night.

They did say that they are adding a way to set your spawn in the Nether. Not sure if that means nether beds or not.
@@DerpyTurtle-ot6rg Did they? I figured the reason we couldn't was that you could potentially softlock yourself in the nether if you destroyed your nether portal.
I guess as long as they add a somewhat easier way to get obsidian and flint and steel than RNG fortress chests then it would be good, since we're getting actual food now too
I like the fact that beds explode in the nether. They should add another way to set your spawnpoint other than beds..
@@starrysock Actually there is currently a way out of the nether if you loose/break your portal. You can find obsidian in nether fortresse's chests, as well as a flint and steel (or at least some iron and some gravel in the nether). And also, you can craft some fire charges (coal from wither skeletons, gunpowder from ghasts, and blaze rod from blaze
@@gwennaneliezer8490 I know you can still get back out, that's what I meant by rng fortress chests. I'd just like it if there was a more interesting way than hunting for fortresses and finding 2 pieces of obsidian every other time

It’s awesome that the bottom 2 things were actually added to the game in the Nether Update XD.
The broken portals could lead to something like a dungeon, I think that would be a cool feature and it would add another purpose to them.

It would be cool if those used lava sponges actually have to be used as fuel to empty them; kind of the opposite of the normal sponge drying.

I feel like they should add something like lava goggles, so basically you can see much better in the lava and for the lava temples, I think that the lava sponge should be like netherite (doesn’t burn in lava) and that there should be mobs defending the temple, like there are in sea temples

Still definitely a rough plan when you consider how anti fun dealing with the lava temple would be. New concepts that they add to the nether really need to be fun for players to experience and explore. The lava temple as proposed by Grian would be terrible and most wouldn't bother. Brimstone would never be worth it.

How about making nether fortresses with "stages"? Something like:
"outskirts" would be poor like the regular fortress,
the "near center" would have more buildings and rooms but with new mobs and better loot
and in the center would be the larger castle with many rooms and a boss on the top tower and maybe low chances of getting netherite from chests. In my opinion everything needs more endgame structures to make exploring more intresting.

Honestly i didn't expect them to notice my suggestion, to be honest i really like how they add things that the Minecraft community would like to see in the game (lodestones, Striders, new Nether structures etc.)

Also, i really like both the new bastion structures and the portals, they can be nicely rebuilt (i tried in creative, the "wall with bridge" baston is probably the easiest to rebuld) and overall i love this update. It'd be amazing if they remade the Fortresses too, but i know it might be a hard task due to possible problems with structure generation etc. :)

when Grian predicts what the Piglins will be like in the 1.16 update... "Piglin village" = bastion remnant.
"Piglin Trading system but you still don't want to mess with them" = you trade with them with gold ingots and keep them from attacking you by wearing gold armor.
I’d like to see lava gain water’s ability to combine flows into infinite sources, but _only_ while in the Nether. I’ve always found it strange that lava is a finite resource in the Nether.
Have you ever tried to use all lava in the nether??
@@billboein You need only take one bucket from the lava sea to see the issue. Every additional bucket just reinforces the point.
@@hexerin then you use mods like buildcraft and extra ultilties to pump the lava into iron/renforced drums and watch as the nether loses all it's lava.
That's what I have always thought. Lava takes other properties of water when in the nether.

Here's something that would be cool: Somehow giving players the ability to link one portal in the nether to another portal in the nether (maybe changing their color when doing so). Nether hubs could link directly to remote nether hubs, making travel in Minecraft so much more convenient!
They teleport you to a random broken portal in overworld, making a compass a valuable item.

makes me think of the giant queen dragon from httyd. Maybe not that big, but it'd be horrifying if you flew low or swam on top of the lava there would be a chance of some huge lava dragon popping it's head out from the depths and dragging you down 8/
Here from the future surprisingly most of these actually came to the game in some way.
It would be cool if you could add an enchantment to your helmet or something to improve your eyesight in lava. Also adding to the brimstone idea, with normal sponge if it is used you can put it in a furnace to make it useable once again, with brimstone that wouldn't work due to the lava in it will not dry out, so I suggest putting it in water to make it useable again. Or possibly some thing else.

Imo, while it would be great if it were possible to live in the nether, but, it being literal hell, it should be way more hostile.
I think it'd be great if it were highly rewarding for going into the nether, but also very difficult. I want to be attacked by freaking shadow demons. I want the nether fortresses to have traps and a boss. I want souls to rise out of soulsand to try and silence you. etc etc
But perhaps there's a rare ore in the nether that makes awesome gear. Or some exclusive items, even a mobility item even.
An obsidian boat would be dope too, so you can literally sail the lava oceans. etc etc.
