- EASY ways to Protect your Minecraft House. Here are some traps or ways to protect your minecraft house from the mobs of the world! All of these were made in java, but some will work in other versions. Some are very funny.

Sometimes I wish there was actually a reason to protect my house from mobs
Yeah, Minecraft really needs to make mobs stronger. Hard mode is too easy, but Hardcore isn’t fun because a small mistake can lose hours, which isn’t fun.

I know this was a joke, but the house is surrounded completely by dispensers, so even if a mob is coming at it diagonally he'll get shotwhen ge comes close enough. Besides that, the house is lifted and the only way to enter is the front door where the steps are, so the mob would naturally go to the middle where you see most of the arrows fly

I use the last one a lot myself but I put a opened trapdoor on the outer edge to trick them into falling in and a rail with hoppercart under the magma block to drop it all into a chest so my defence earns me resources too.
didnt know about the trapdoor over the magma block though, cant wait to play around with that mechanic now.

A somewhat costly, but kind of neat one a friend showed me, is the night fence. It's basically pistons two blocks down with fences on top that are tied to a daylight sensor. By day the fence is in the ground and you can walk over it no problem. At night the piston activates and pushes the fence up, making it so no mobs can walk past it or jump over it. It looks especially neat if you stagger the piston activations (which takes a ton of repeaters) so you just see the fence come up like a wave that wraps around the entire property. It's damned hypnotic. You can even tie an "override" button of sorts that will drop a couple of the posts for a second or two to allow you an easy venue into the place at night. The best part is you can easily bury all of the redstone beneath the ground.
