My top bar doesn't allow me to shut down, when I click on the power button in the bar it opens the menu and when I drag my mouse to click the shutdown it closes. I have to do this like 20x and sometimes to change screens to have the luck that once it stays open. Ok, I can shut down using a terminal but as it happened I tried to narrow it down what it is but super annoying. Brodie check the cpu usage
I had a similar issue when the setting "focus follows cursor" is enabled. I think cosmic thinks the top bar and stuff that's in the gap are different windows. So when the mouse crosses over the gap between the top bar and the drop down, the focus changes to what's in the gap causing the drop down to dissappear. To counteract this you can set the focus delay higher or move your mouse faster across the gap (so it doesn't register). I use 20ms delay and by moving the cursor fast i can consistently press it.
Just FYI if you search “power off” or “shutdown” in the launcher (super key) the command to power off the computer shows up. Even if I don’t have your problem I find it easier to just do it this way, usually it’s only a couple of key strokes
Memory safety and memory leaks are unrelated to each other. Rust offers no more/less protection from memory leaks than any other language does. While it is an understandable misconception, novices and non-programmers seem to conflate the two concepts quite often.

I experimented with the first alpha, but am going to wait until a stable release to do so again, well after the initial wave of hotfixes get patched, so probably around the 1.1 or 2.0 version. I can deal with most types of bug-ridden software when it is new and still ironing out the kinks, but a DE is not one of them, it gets frustrating too fast.

Same with the AI dubs. They are awful, completely miss the tone of the original and are as engaging as listening to Microsoft Sam read a Google translated script.

DE's should have a video player that fits their own design guidelines. Unfortunately none of them can possibly be as good as VLC.
