I got mine today! I agree with every word, infact I said the same thing. It is BEAUTIFUL, and I think it was created for the people who do not like the OG! And I told my friend this one is when I want to wear Guidance, but I don’t want to shut the world down! I feel like I have 2 Guidance options for 2 different occasions! I love it, no regrets…but I agree…the cost could be aligned with the original.

But 46 will allow me to put it on when I want the DNA but not be so polarizing. It’s like having BR 540 and the extrait. BUT, I think if you LOVE Guidance, you might want both…but if you hate the OG…you might want 46…when you have a discount code. I am happy and no regrets ❤️

On 6/5, my daughter graduated from medical school MCL, and we are very close and wanted to wear the same fragrance so out of our 500+ collection, we agreed on Guidance, she was obviously seating up front and I was with the parents/family and apart from the fact that I was so emotional that I think I cried for a big part of her ceremony, the people around me were people I knew who were parents of young doctors now who went to school with my daughter some of them even from elementary school and some from university. So there was a lot of hugs involved and everybody had something to say about Guidance. This thing was like 6+ hours long and then we went to dinner and we got home and we could still smell it. Now we have that wonderful memory attached to Guidance and as soon as I recover from Graduation gifts lol, I am getting it no matter what.

I love Guidance 46! Guidance OG wasn't mine at all. I smelled a plastic note. Guidance 46 is much softer, wonderfully blended. Alone an outstanding perfume that stays with me for 12 hours +! I had forgotten that I still had Bois Doré by Van Cleef & Arpels on and sprayed Guidance 46 over it... If you have both - give it a try. Eau my gosh. Loooove!

All their exceptional extraits have been $520 which I absolutely refuse to pay for any perfume from any brand. We have to ask ourselves if this is better than Guerlain L’ art and La Matiere line at $400 for 100 ml (eg iconic Angelique Noir, award winning Tobacco Honey etc) or Roja Parfums (packaging is so much nicer and he is one of the only houses now using real ambergris.) IMO it Isn’t. I see a few exceptional extraits in discount sites occasionally and that’s where my hard earned cash will go if this ever shows up there. Otherwise, Imma sit this out. There are some beautiful alternatives out there.

I went to an Amouage event on Monday and met their Global Manager (he was lovely and so interesting), who said the main takeaway from the new one is the addition of the Bitter Almond and Ambrette to the exclusive.
Why am I such a sucker for packaging because that 46 bottle is gorgeous!!! I don’t need this new flanker but I will probably add it to my collection at some point.
I wish I had seen your video before I made my purchase. I smelled the original guidance and loved it, especially during the dry down when I could detect its distinctive scent from afar. Although I like the new version, I miss the strong, original scent. The updated version should have been made better than the original.
The bottle is love. I thought perfumes didn't go past 30% concentration because higher than that makes it toxic to us. I'll have to research this a bit more. Thanks for sharing Sharida💕
I've seen them go to about 35% but never 46. All the extra oil content was not necessary honestly. Just a way to justify charging an arm and leg I guess.
Sharida! When I go on fragrantica I see the reviews saying the original amouage has been reformulated and the scent doesn’t project or last as long 😢 I truly hope that’s not true and the brand isn’t scamming people into buying Guidance 46.
If your bottle is brand new (I mean, I’m sure it is), just let it macerate and sit for a month, and then come back to it, and please let us know if the sillage is improved or if the scent itself changes. I’ve had to be patient with a few Middle Eastern perfumes, and they always smell richer and perform better after I let them sit at the back of my wardrobe for a few weeks. One of them even smelled like a completely different scent after a few months, which is crazy.
It is brand new. Will keep you all update on sillage as it ages. But I never noticed a difference with my OG Guidance, as it was also a pre-sale order. Performs the same as day one.

Nice and honest review. I did not like the original. You’re correct, it was too jarring for me. The just picked up the 46 and I’m very very happy I did. The price, stupid but, I happily paid it because I know the performance is out of this world.

Hi Sharida, I had early access to this release and was a bit confused. Why did we need a new more concentrated Guidance? I am in love with the OG. And then... saw the price and stop ed dead on my tracks. I will not pay so much for a fragrance!!! (Not considering that would be a blind buy). I stay with the OG.
I wondered why an extrait of this beastly scent as well. They would have just done better making the small revisions to the scent and releasing it along side the OG...like they did with the Delinas. Only a small price increase for the Delina Exclusif. They would have sold so many bottles of 46 this way smh.
Guidance for me was as you said, I liked- but toooooo strong. My stomach could not handle it after 5 minutes. So, unfortunately, was a No. But I understand why people love it.
I love the frankincense note paired with rose and hazelnut in the original Guidance so much that I don’t think I’ll prefer 46 version... but I’ll go and try it the same, in honour of science. Yes, I would say get the extrait upon reup. You don’t NEED both at the same time. It’s 💯 a gorgeous release but I think we were expecting that 😆

Hopefully the Almond grounds it and makes it smoother. I didn't like the Hazelnut note in the original.. it smelled a bit rancid/funky.

I've been decant queen with Guidance and finally got it for mothers day. I'm curious and already ordered a decant of 46 but that price point is ridiculous when the OG is a masterpiece.
Right my eyes were as big as saucers when I saw the price increase!
Do you find that the full bottle lasts as long as your decants? I’ve seen reviews saying it doesn’t project or last as long anymore 😢

Nice and honest review. I did not like the original. You’re correct, it was too jarring for me. The just picked up the 46 and I’m very very happy I did. The price, stupid but, I happily paid it because I know the performance is out of this world.

I love Quentin Bisch!!! Did he create a new masterpiece??? YEEESSS!! I have the original Guidance, & I wear it everyday on my underpinnings...it is so warm & comforting to smell as I move throughout my day. I Will be purchasing the 46 extraits & a new bottle of the original as I am almost out. I will go without food to be able to afford the fragrance... Cannot & will not be without it!

Yeah I thought this can’t possibly be stronger… because what for?! It’s actually an improvement over the OG which I can’t even believe I am saying 😂, because you all know how I feel about the OG.

Hi Sharida, I had early access to this release and was a bit confused. Why did we need a new more concentrated Guidance? I am in love with the OG. And then... saw the price and stop ed dead on my tracks. I will not pay so much for a fragrance!!! (Not considering that would be a blind buy). I stay with the OG.
I wondered why an extrait of this beastly scent as well. They would have just done better making the small revisions to the scent and releasing it along side the OG...like they did with the Delinas. Only a small price increase for the Delina Exclusif. They would have sold so many bottles of 46 this way smh.

Guidance for me was as you said, I liked- but toooooo strong. My stomach could not handle it after 5 minutes. So, unfortunately, was a No. But I understand why people love it.

Unfortunately I’m not spending that much on a fragrance. It’s not worth it these days, plus I love the OG!
It’s definitely not a must have for anyone that owns the OG.
Queen they know people will put it in there collection. It’s not about the money for some. It’s about having it all.
I love the frankincense note paired with rose and hazelnut in the original Guidance so much that I don’t think I’ll prefer 46 version... but I’ll go and try it the same, in honour of science. So, for now I have kept saved the patrimony 😆

Question: do you think the rose is too prominent in 46? How much more rose is in it?
I personally pick up on the rose more in 46 because the heavier notes of the OG are bit more toned down. It’s blended so beautifully!

I wouldn't doubt it's beautifully blended but I am so intrigued to know what type of rose are we getting from 46? Powdery? Slightly dusty? Most certainly not steering into vintage rose I think. Thoughts?

I want to get a decant of the new one as the original although I loved the smell would give me a headache. Would you say the 46 is signature scent worthy and can be worn year round?
It's still quite strong, but it can be worn year around.
