I am extremely grateful for your TH-cam video "Brother MFC-9140cdn Waste toner End soon Replace waste toner box Reset" My printer is a "Brother DCP 9015-CDW" My WT box some weeks ago was overflowing and so I carefully emptied and cleaned it.
I had been ignoring the message WT box ending soon and today the terminal message to replace WT box.
You saved the day on a very old printer which we were relying on to print a number of "Order of Sevice" for this rogation Sunday.
I searched Google and your video was literally the only help, and indeed the closest reference I could find.
That crucial one minute at 4 minutes into the video, I followed carefully, and it was like a miracle that it solved the problem.
My only criticism is that the one minute was not enough to explain exactly what you were doing. I could not understand why you did not replace the small black spacer.
Pictures were good, and then something clicked on mine and it worked.
I was amazed.
My wife is the priest and was relying on me so we are both most grateful to you.

Yo, you are the man. I watched like 20 videos and they kept giving me the wrong advice. I love my brother printer and you saved her. If anyone is having trouble with their 3170CDW purchased around 2017, this is the right video to watch for the toner box fix. That little black peg you knocked off the side and the connection made there was the clincher. Note, unlike other videos you need to make sure that the metal with that little plastic knob on the top of the box is actually touching one another. I found that to be the common mistake that wasn't allowing the fix to go through. Thank again Shivam!

Thanks for this. I was getting the "replace wt box" message. Removing the right rubber tube didn't work but using the first method of making the metal contacts touch, did work. Many thanks.

you need to actually empty the waste box, as well as reset it ! There area a couple of screws and the 3 plastic tabs at front end of box to vthe top cover section, then actual empty the waste ink powder. The box is the flat and about 3/4 inch thick where the residual ink powder falls into.

no need to put back the black ring? will it work normally?
I worry if you remove the little wheel, a long time later, when the WT box is fully filled with waste toner, there is no way for the printer to warn you and then the waste toner ends up spilling out to the entire insides of the printer, causing an expensive malfunction....

Otherwise, this is just called: Monkey See, Monkey Do... you have no clue as to why and what is going on... you've just learned aligning certain parts in certain ways fixes the unit... that's a very dull explanation if you ask me.
He didnt explain anything. That tiny wheel helps the printer sense when the toner box is full. The real fix is to actually empty/clean the toner collector box. Look up those videos. It's a bit of work but quite easy.
Oh Dear...The Bushing you removed is there for a reason. 10000 Future Broken printers all with Drum Errors the owners won't know how to fix all because of your video.
