  • Is Islam fair to women and transfer their role revolutionary comparing to other empires ?
    The right to divorce?
The right to own property ?
The right for inheritance money ?
    And more

Whoever is reading this. The brother or male that was getting more inherence has the obligation to spend on her if she wasn’t married and she also did NOT have to spend any of her money on her needs or wants or the needs of the family. The man had that burden.

Yes true, this is part of the wisdom, at the end women are not marginalized. They had their full rights.

I prefer the term "responsibilty" to "Burden" .... along with the task was the inclusion of care and kinship
The responsibilty extends even if the girl is married ... that way she always has a backup to keep her safe and avoids her being dependent on any male source

Also The woman inherits from father as well as husband once she marries and she doesn't have to spend any of her money either so technically it's almost equal.

In a divorce only women can claim compensation (money, property etc) from men. Even if the woman is a millionaire and the man is poor.

its called haq-mehar which is an agreed upon amount at the time of marriage which the husband has to pay to her wife no matter what except if the woman initiate the divorce
this is better as compared to now where woman marry and then get divorce just to get inheritance

The reason behind the unequal shares in inheritance is because men have more responsibility for their wives, children and home. A daughter would have a husband to take care of her and the children.

Just a simple note correction, if there is 2 or more girls they get 2/3 regardless of the boys numbers. Also, don't forget by law the boys have to spend on his sisters even if the sisters are richer.
It is not a stright simple logic.

Thanks for the comments professor Casagranda and your genuine fairness
May I make a comment re inheritance
Not all inheritance is two to one
The parents inherit equally for their children
The males have by the same law the responsibility to take care of the parents and to take care of all needy sisters and orphaned nephews to the same extent they provide to their own self or families
They also have the primary obligation to take care of their families with no such obligations from the women
While women often do that they are owed more gratitude as this is an act of above and beyond
Muslim scholars have commented that Allah has mandated these responsibilities on men partly since women often are more selfless and do that more spontaneously
We have record of women filing for alimony from their brothers and the judge granting that from legal ottoman archives

Actually a man in an Islamic society has the obligation of expenditure towards his wife, his children, his parents, his young sibl8ngs .. etc.
A woman's obligation in that sense is significantly lesser, and that is why a son would get the share of two daughters because he is expected to distribute that wealth among those in need.
It is not about favoritism towards a man it is about econiomical balance within society overall.

As far as women as witnesses, the womans testamony being half that of a mans is to do with wimen as "expert witnesses" rather than eyewitnesses.
The value of testamony of a person is always affected by their honesty and reputation.

the reason for 1 share of inheritance was that because it wsa the men who were more likely to do work so they would need that money but the woman may only use it to sustaine them self for short time
also 1 man is equal to 2 woman in witness is because of womans nature
woman are more likely to hold grudge there for lie to hurt some one
where as men also do that but men by nature are more less-likely to hold grudge and also they motivated by honor so when asked to tell the truth for justice they are more likely to tell the truth

The problem is not in the rule but the governing of it. There is no islamic state at the moment so the ruling on shares and inheritance according to Islam in not enforced by anybody. They will only deal with it according to the current laws of the land and in court. And no, Saudi Arabia does not count - it is far from being islamic.

i see the point this video is trying to make, but a lot of stuff here are actually false. like men needing to say "i divorce you" 3 times, or that women get half the men in inheretence, or that a crime needs 3 witnesses or 6 women. all false islamically

    • @jameshealer1395
      @jameshealer1395 หลายเดือนก่อน

      what do mean false
the 3 time divorce is not false
the one share of inheritance is not false nither the witness thing

    • @n_adoui
      @n_adoui หลายเดือนก่อน

@@jameshealer1395 for the divorce thing, it only needs to be said once, not 3.
For the inheritance, the shares have nothing to do with the sex of the inheritors. For example, if a woman dies and left a husband and a daughter, rhe the daughter gets half of everything, and husband gets only quarter. Or if a man dies and leaves 2 daughters and bunch of brothers and parents and wife...the daughters get 2 thirds and everyone else share the other third. The case of a brotjer and sister, yes brother gets double what the sister get, but there is a reason for that, the brother is responsible for his sister, he must support her all her life, unless she gets married.
As for witnesses, there is no global rule for the number of witnesses. For example, adultery requires 4, a contract requires 2.

I want to comment also that a lot of people here are writing the benefits women get, but let's not forget the context, women were seen as property, and women were still considered that after islam. Though islam massively humanized women, and as he says gave women rights to exist semi-autonomosly Alhamdilullah). So just, let's not talk about it as if husband or brother taking care of them women meant somehow men had more 'burden', it was more in the sense that they were 'more people', thus with the power they had such responsibility, and whilst again, that is much better than what was there before and the power imbalance shifted drastically, it didn't reach to balance, and that is something we can work on together. Our religion is beautiful. Scary things are happening and we also are prone to do them, but recently I have gathered so much love for my religion, and I want to reach a place where we all can live in a freer and loving world.

During the 500 years that Rome was a Republic, Roman women could go to the Forum to shop, chat with friends, and visit a temple, all without asking their husband for permission. Under the Empire, it was legal for women to own land, run businesses, free slaves, make wills, inherit wealth, and get a paid job. In ancient Rome, only free adult men were citizen
In the Islamic world a Christian could not be a witness in court and had to pay extra tax
