SUPERTEAMS DON’T WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

Why did the Lakers and Celtics became successful in the 1980s? They drafted well.
Why did the Bulls have two three-peats in the 1990s? They drafted well.
Why did the Warriors have four titles in an eight-year span? They drafted well.
Why did the Spurs have five titles in a 15-year gap? They drafted well.
Those examples might be called 'super' teams, but they have nucleuses from their draft capital.
tatum and brown were not the same superstars that they are rn
Imagine the clippers win this year 😂
No
Getting older stars never works...also the lakers in 85 and 87 were a super team depth wise...the current celtics are a super team...
Bro celtics this year have chemistry, depth, and our team is defensive and offensive so looks like we in the clearr
All star Tatum, all star brown, all star porzingis, all star Holliday, Devin White, Al Horford, come on dude. Half of these aren't super teams cause they're old. When SGA, Chet, and Jalen Williams are making all stars together, they're gonna be considered a super team. Every team needs AT LEAST two all stars to be competitive. Every team has never played together before when they get drafted. They effing learn. The Warriors crushed teams because everyone fit perfectly. The mentioned teams lack fit, and most of those teams were built 2/3 through the draft anyway. Like, embiid and Simmons were drafted together, Tatum and Brown were drafted together.
I mean, c'mon, half of these aren't even super teams
Devin white lol
Kd to warriors was a super duper team cause curry took less money on his deal due to his ankles allowing them to keep iggy shaun and get bigs like mcgee west and za za...
They win championships if they are constructed correctly- having 3 dudes that take up 80% of your salary that aren't primary playmakers and spam middies doesn't work. KD worked with the Warriors because they had much better shot variety and good defenders.
Fr, half of these aren't even super teams. Maxey is not making any team a super team. Neither is 35 year old Melo. Nor 35 year old Westbrook. I mean, if you had, say, Tyrese Haliburton, Bam Adebayo, and Darius Garland all on the same team, you wouldn't call that a super team. The current thunder aren't "built like an actual team" cause they're built through trades. I mean, their best player was drafted by the clippers! They also had to suck hard enough to get Chet holmgren at pick number two. And when kyrie was in Boston, brown wasn't anywhere NEAR as good as he is now, and Tatum was a freaking rookie. This kid had no clue what a super team is. The Celtics with Bill Walton, THAT'S a super team. Showtime Lakers with Bob McAdoo and them off the bench. Miami heatles. Hamptons warriors. That's it. Imo, those are the super teams, everyone else is just hype. Paul George isn't making any team no super team unless he's joining a top 5 player. "Build like the OKC thunder and nuggets" is so effing stupid. The nuggets have basketball Patrick Mahomes, it doesn't fucking matter what they do cause they have the best player in the world and the ultimate playoff riser right next to him. And the thunder have 6000 draft picks, and guess what, they're still small AF and have lots of issues around the roster. They're incredibly over hyped.
The nuggets have three or four all star level players. The thunder have three or four all star players. "Try and build like the nuggets and thunder" stfu like that's so freaking easy. Come on dude, this kid doesn't get how unbelievably lucky those two teams are. Might as well say "why doesn't everyone just draft Brock Purdy and Tom Brady? Quarterbacks are easy"
These aren’t real big threes these are old guys trying to extend their primes
Putting the clippers in is a bit pre-emptive, they still have a chance even though I really doubt it
kd would’ve won in 2021 if it wasn’t for his big foot and he almost beat giannis, jrue and khris by himself while kyrie and harden where injured. bros a casual
It shouldn’t have been close anyway bro they got 2 elite scorers on the team
boston was too young with kyrie n ong this clip team could get another series win if they finish dallas
This removes context superteams do work if the right stars are put together it’s not the idea it’s the way other gms have gone about the idea
its cuz they dont have depth. The diff is that steph took a pay cut. They kept their depth with star power. Plus, steph works with almost anyone
only team here not counting is nets cause when they played in playsoffa the did crazy dmg then giannis took 2 of um out
You can't count Maxey as part of a big 3 he just got drafted 3 years ago and he didn't even make all star.
Chatting nobody was calling Maxey a superstar.. he was a role player until harden left
Find it funny that ubsaid ever since Durant. When it was LeBron that started the super teams
Does the Celtics big 4 mean nothing to you?
@@kangaroocourt9507the Miami big three was the first big three most fans know about.
Maxey is not part of a big 3 😂 hes a dawg nut it's like his 3rd year in the league.
Can’t agree tbh bc you have teams the heat big 3 (lebron) the Celtics big 3 (Paul pierce) and alot more like the spurs
Half these teams you mention were no where near a super team
Mostly good take but Tatum was a rookie and brown was a sophomore with Kyrie loo
Ok that harden embiid and Maxey team was not a super team Maxey wasn’t even an all star
Aint no way bro said ad bron and westbrook were a big 3
Uh yeah they were, Westbrook averaged a triple double the year prior joining the lakers and was an all star caliber. Plus LeBron and AD who are obviously elite. They ended up sucking, which is litteraly the whole point of this video, to prove that superteams dont work
They were…?
@@notaa6992no he did not. He was on the wizards the year before homie do some research. And rockets before that. Hadn’t averaged a triple double since okc
@@ArtisStarksyou clearly don’t know what you’re talking about
@@ArtisStarks I litteraly just searched it up. He averaged a triple double on the wizards the year before joining the lakers
U don’t watch basketball cause what u just said ain’t true KD took the nets to a conference finals like his second year 😂
Named 2 super teams
Russ, LeBron and AD literally won a championship what the fuck do you mean they didn't accomplish anything
They didn’t… Russ joined the lakers in 2021 and the lakers won a championship in 2020. If you’re gonna get heated, at least get your facts straight.
@@jeffjeffy4205 my bad
A washed vs of Melo, a fraudulent Ben Simmons, rookie taytum and brown, russ was leaving his prime, the nets were injury prone and lacked defence,cp3 was getting old, beal aint big enough, the clipper aint a superteam due to age but theyre a really good team. Put everyone in thier prime they wouldve won the ring.
Clippers ❓
