That white version looks delightful! Could be my favourite BMW! Years since I went to Marlow....what a lovely place. Anyway, nice review and have a good weekend!
I agree, the S1000XR makes absolutely no sense at all. I mean, who needs 165 horses, especially in a “touring” bike? Or an engine that is constantly reminding you of its presence (and that it quite fancies ripping your arms off). And it is a bit rowdy (some would say angry). Yes, the S1000XR is completely and utterly daft. Which is why I’ve got one and why I love it so much.

First time commenter TMF, your review along with a couple others convinced me to order one. Mine will be red with the Select Package here in the US. Arrives in 5 weeks. Loved my test ride and the after 2 miles this bike felt great.

Sorry I can't help Mine has yet to arrive. My order did not get produced before the factory shut down for covid. Mine has now been made and will arrive in early October. It will be a 2021.
My local dealer has a 2021 for a steal of a price. I wasn't planning on buying a bike this late in the season but after this review I am so very tempted. This seems like my ideal motorcycle.
Got a test ride on one of these tomorrow Andy along side the R1250R. Saturday a ride on a GL1800 DCT Bagger. So many choices! Great video as always and what a lovely day for a test ride video...
👍 Nice to see Marlow, got great memories of going there when I was a kid. Great review, BMW have produced a good looking bike which will be entering a busy market.
I had a Triumph Bonneville (Sp?) back in the early 60s. I think it had about 40 hp. I was never disappointed with the power. Today bikes seem so crazy to me.
Great video again! I had a look at the F900R/XR today and I really like the looks, especially the XR. But I must admit I was a bit disappointed about the plastic fantastic look and feel of the grey/red panels.
Hey TMF! Enjoying my Tracer 700 having just completed my A2 in Jan! Love this BMW. I would logically be looking at a Tracer 900 in two years time but this is a very tempting alternative. Thanks for all your great, comprehensive and entertaining reviews. You were a great help in my choice of first bike!
I think for the price these are used, it is great. Picked up a 21 TE with 6k, eveey option selected for 8.5k, 2 year warranty, and 2 year breakdown. I think for my first bigger bike from an MT07, it's going to suit me well.
Yes indeed sir ....nice review as always ....this could be my next addition to the garage as it ticks all the boxes for me ....was interested to hear your comment on the visor size being on the small side but there is a larger option ....I fancy long miles on it so wind protection a big consideration for me and also low seat height due to my short arse ..... Might hold off a year to see what unfolds regards teething issues and maybe by then get better deals on the go ( hopefully 👌) ....well done and keep up the good work sir 👏👏👏
I enjoy your content ,the first time impressions, the long-term reviews on a lot of the newer bikes and even your reading of the news. I think it would be super cool for you to ride some of the standout bikes of the early 2000s and the 90s to compare them to the current crop. I think you might be surprised at just how capable they are compared to the newer iron . They keep adding technology and complexity yet if you look at the zero to 60 and the quarter mile times they haven't gained much at all. Obviously there's a lot more to bikes than that it would just be cool to see.
Glad to see your review. My local dealer (BMW / Triumph) just got one in this past Saturday. It looked interesting. BTW, they got in 2 Rocket3's on the same truck, a GT & R.
Good review TMF, nice bike just sat on one in the dealers, agree on the seat but they do optional tour seats. Only downer for me is the small 15.5L tank.
I’ve had the S1000RR & currently have the S1000R. But even that’s a tad insane for touring. Hence I’ll pass on the S1000XR, but this 900XR hits the spot! Here in Australia we’ll only get the fully loaded version. I can live with that👍🏻😎 This’ll arrive in April here so I’ll definitely take one for a test ride. I’m still not discounting the Yamaha Tenere or the Husqvarna Norden 901! Yep these 2 are obviously more off road focussed but if I like the 900XR, I’ll take it! Good review Andy & hopefully in the UK your weather picks up for riding. Here now we are almost through the worst of summer & can’t wait for autumn!!!👍🏻😎
I agree with everything you say. 900cc is nearing the honey spot, 1000cc plus is way too much. Twin is better than four - less is actually more! Amazed to hear you describe a 4 in line bike [XR1000] as buzzy. I'm impressed, first time i think you never said buttery smooth. Shows you have some knowledge and integrity! Great review, it sounds a wonderful bike.
@@fyorbane I test rode a Z900 and it's not buttery smooth. If you look at Google you will see that 4 cylinders is inherently rough. Go ride or drive a 6 cylinder and get back to me when you will know what smooth is. Btw, i never said that a twin was smooth.
Came here from his other vid for the F990R as soon as he said the other one was a bit more upright. I hate wrist pain, and I get it too much from lean-forward bikes. Seems like quite a quiet bike when not being revved, which is a big, big YES for me. I spent the cost of this bike on a Yamaha Tmax 530 DX 18 months ago, and have put only 600 miles on it since then as it's so very noisy. Parallel twin? V-Twin? New seat, higher screen, knuckle guards, grip-heaters, wife on the back (maybe)... Good to go man!
I’ve had one of these (after all) for the past 8 months. It was the best all rounder and practical bike I could get. I have the sporty red TE. The electronic suspension and quick shifter work well. The dynamic mode is like having a different bike if you want it. The three piece luggage is fine for tours. My Mrs is happy as a passenger/pillion. The main things I did change are to a MRA Vario windshield (took me 10 mins to fit) and a Wunderlich Queen seat for more distance comfort. I sometimes miss the retro bikes, such as Bonnevilles, or fancy the RnineT; but as a practical tourer this is fine. Also I prefer twin engines so this is a good option for me.
How did you get on with the wunderlich queen seat? I’m 99% sure I’m going to buy this bike soon but have heard a lot of people complaining about the factory fitted seat, saying it’s too firm. Is the wunderlich queen seat comfy?
@@stephenashley9311 the stock seat is ok to get used to the bike. I splashed out on the Wunderlich Queen Seat for its pillion qualities. It’s not a soft cushioned seat, but it’s ergonomically better due to its construction and width. It’s very well constructed. As it is slightly wider i can feel it’s higher i.e. on the stock seat it is more comfortable to touch t( ground, but when moving with feet on pegs the Wunderlich seat is more comfortable. That means it is more comfortable on a longer journey. I’m told I can expect it to become even more comfortable over time. My wife hasn’t had much chance to try the pillion, but initially she can feel it is more comfortable and feels secure. I can recommend it, but as it’s not cheap i advise to get the bike first and get used to the stock seat before paying out. You can get one from Nippy Normans if you are in the UK. Good luck. It’s a good bike, especially if you like twins.
@@petewebb6952 thank you Pete. Very helpful. I will see how I get on with the stock seat first then. I haven’t had any experience with twin engines yet simply because I haven’t passed my test yet. I passed my mod 1 last week and I have my mod 2 on 19th April. All being well on the test I’ll be buying a F900XR 😁👍🏼
I enjoy these reviews just as they are, but . . . at the end, if there was a link to specs and (they always want more) a link to bikes already reviewed representing direct competitors
There's is no comparison the tracer is twice the bike in terms of riding quality, the xr900 engine is very noisy, rattle sensation, loads of drivetrain backlash when coming of throttle, forks dive way to easy, rear rattles over bumps, 53mpg maximum, small tank, couldn't wait to get of it after road test, not for me.
This was a brand new bike so seats will always be on the hardside. Over the years ive found that your body also adapts to the seat so its not always a case of wondering whether the seat needs upgrading, you need to bed in with the bike over a few hundred miles, more in some cases. I recall when i first starting riding my FZ8 and wasnt convinced by the seat but after around 500 mile my backside and hips began to become more familiar with the position the seat was putting them in. Currently looking into these sit up bikes that can do all, its a large sector when you consider the bikes available, from V stroms to even the ninja 650 and Yamaha tracers. An all day do anything sit up bike seems to be the way many are going now and the choices are fantastic.
Great review as always Mr Flier. Having seen this I think I'm still convinced the tracer 900gt was the right choice. Such a flexible bike with great spec. 5k miles since July used in all weather and is faultless. Good mpg even when riding spirited, I have the front and rear suspension adjusted perfectly thanks to my dealer. I like the look of the BMW but you have to add so much to it the gt came pretty much as I needed everything. F850gt or a tiger 900 would be the only other bikes I think I'd look at now. Top review
Great review again Flyer. I'm considering going down the adventure tourer path now but just not really convinced by these smaller 900's. They just dont seem to look right to me. I test rode the 900 Tiger and was ok to ride but it just looks a little skinny and empty, will give the F900 a crack too and see...
@@TheMissendenFlyer It's been a while since you did the review. I am wondering if you have heard of "frequent complaints" either in ride or reliability for this bike. Thanks for any help.
Thanks a lot for this highly expected review and thumbs up for the quick production. As a road rider who loves the upright seating position of enduros I'm very keen on riding it myself. Considering also the very affordable price it could be the next addition to my garage. I'm not very happy with the colour range of red, light grey and yellow, I'd go for the red one, but with the higher screen. Can't understand why BMW didn't offer the popular blue-white-red hp scheme.
Great piece, Flyer! I am somewhat intrigued by this machine. I'm not a huge fan of parallel twins (I prefer triples) but I still think it would be nice to give this bike a go and see what she's got. It's interesting, this move by several makers to introduce this 900 class machine. There are a few of them out there now. Better than the middle weights but still a reasonable alternative to the big bikes. Looking forward to the long term review later this year. Cheers!
Nice review, thanks a lot Andy...! It's hard to make correct choice. I like this new F900XR but I am a bit "scary" about this engine : funny or boring. Some testers/riders said that this engine is a bit boring. I have to try it ASAP. 😉 I have had a Street Triple R 2013 and now an old R1200GS (2004). Hard choice to change my GS for this new XR900...
Looks like a great bike. I will likely try a test ride on one in the spring. Dealers here in Canada do not typically have demo bikes but BMW travels around with a truck load of bikes offering demo days at the dealerships
Screen blast hmm, I truly truly believe, whatever size screen a manufacturer could put on a bike, the tester /vlogger would say "screens a bit low". Bikes are breezy things!!!!
I have 2015 VFR800F with 62k miles on and have been thinking of changing it. I have concluded that actually I will get another VFR800F when I change. My reasoning is that they are available new for £9500 and come equipped with heated grips and a centre stand. Add these to the BMW and it seems a larger screen then you are talking about £11k+. Do you really need power modes for a 100hp bike?
As always, a great review; thorough, entertaining and informative - I've been interested in this bike since it was first announced and hoping you would get to review it. Thank you so much! It strikes me as one of the best all rounders that BMW have released in some time. Not too expensive, not too heavy, not too tall, commuting, touring, sports riding, adventure riding, - it appears to do it all with the caveat of not having the much vaunted "off road" capability. True, it doesn't have the tele lever front end of a GS/GSA or RT, which enables ESA on both front and back, and chain rather than shaft drive - but it costs a lot less, weighs a lot less, and given the difference in weight v's power is probably not that far behind a GS/GSA/RT in outright performance. Tellingly though, it has all the latest electronic safety aids such as ABS Pro for example, which could be a lifesaver if in a critical situation you should panic brake whilst leaned over, thus saving a low or high side accident and crash. I do think the GS/GSA/RT are likely the better bikes overall than this new F900XR - but at significant extra cost. However for what it costs, and what it offers, and if you have no desire to go off road other than on short distances of unmade road, it looks to be an exceptionally well rounded package and great value for money. My local dealer whom I spoke to yesterday tells me these will hit the Australian market in April and arrive in a "fully loaded" specification at circa A$22,000. Compare that to a fully optioned GS which comes in circa A$35,000, or a fully optioned RT which hits A$42,000 looking at the AU BMW configuration tool online, and the value both financial and in it's all rounder capabilities will likely ensure this will be a very popular machine. Certainly I'll be taking a very interested look at one when they arrive. Thanks again for the great review :-)
Fantastic review, nice to hear someone else say the 1000 feels angry, fun as it is I thought it only made sense when I was going at speeds which draw attention. I bought the ex demo 900 from my local dealer and have done 3 things to improve the comfort, MRA Vario screen, re-padded seat and an unplanned one, a Non-GT spec rear Road 5 tyre because of a puncture... I have no clue why they chose to fit the reinforced GT tyres to a light bike like this but it made a difference for the better. On the twisty back lanes the 900xr is very evenly matched with a friends V-strom 1000, it's more fun for me than my MK1 SuperDuke GT was, so for me it's perfect.
You should do a pound for pound best bike. I know you a big fan of the GS but what would you choose at a given price point? A lot people (like myself), have grew up the Bangernomics Philosophy, where we would rather buy used to buy a better machine. I'm talking cars of course, but if you had say £10k ish, whst would you buy with your money? Might add if you are an average, mature rider. Great channel, really appreciate the efforts you put in your videos
@@pimpthyride Hi, no, I am always trying to find THE good choice. In parallel, I added the Guzzi V85TT in my "basket"...😉 At this moment, I made only a test with the Guzzi (very cool to ride it). I have to try these motorbikes before to take a choice. Good luck too and regards !
@@Salva.S Hi Salva. I had a test drive on teh Moto Guzzi V85TT and really liked the bike. I like that it vibrates when idle, I love the shaft drive and it looks beautiful... but I have kind of ruled it out because of its low power and the sparse aftersales support and unavailability of spares. I tried the Yamaha Tracer 900, liked it, but it didn't excite me. I think the suspension was a little soft. The side cases of the GT are too small. Have not yet totally rulled it out. I tried the KTM 790 Adventure, really liked the bike, it is nimble, fast, exciting, great display, But i ruled it out to be too much off road oriented, is uncomfortable for long rides and for KTM reliability and aftersales in my area (bad reputation). I tried the Honda CRF 1100 Africa Twin, it was a blast, great ride, really liked it. Honda reliability (I guess). But I ruled it out because it is also too much off road oriented, is more expensive and doesn't seem very comfortable. I tried the Triumph Tiger 900 GT, liked it but it did not excite me. But it was very well balanced. Have not ruled it out yet. I tried the Ducati Multistrada 950 S and really liked it but with cases it is a bit over my budget. Expensive aftersales. I like the Triumph Tiger Sport 1050, but it is expensive and the analogue display is a major turn off. I have no way to test this model.
If it helps anyone, I too was in the same situation, and I went for the BMW. In the end the decision was relatively easy, it came down to the dealers. The BMW dealer was excellent and couldn’t do enough for me, the Triumph dealer couldn’t be bothered and I didn’t even get as far as a test ride. Reviews like this, excellent as they are, can only really compare the products. For me, a regular Joe, the BMW dealer experience is light years ahead of Triumphs.
I test drove one yesterday. I guess if you like the way BMW parallel twins vibrate, which I don’t, it’s pretty decent... Anyway, really good ergonomics, crappy windshield with great adjustment system, super strong brakes that make the forks dive a lot, rev it to get power, and it averaged ... 36.1 mpg [US] - oh and the mirrors vibrated like crazy, which is weird given TMF’s comments
Great review, thank you. Having just returned to riding again I was instantly taken by the looks of the F900XR and ordered one last November. So pleased your review confirms my initial rash order was a good decision. I pick the white bike up shown in your video this coming Friday. The white bike is the TE model with Comfort pack, headlight pro, TPC and emergency control, in all the package came in at £12K. The TE version adds cruise control and electrics for satnav plus a few other smaller items. Well worth paying the little extra for the TE. New subscriber.
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes. It arrived two weeks ago, have to wait until 14 Feb to pick it up according to BMW as they have restricted official launch until then.
Had a good look at this Bike Yesterday love it,definitely a bike you can live with ,only one fault but it may get better with time is the seat, but I was told by the dealer they had a specialist seat dealer in the area which are top notch, not many bikes have that one fault which can be sorted easily, so going ahead and looking forward to the summer on it.
Like a lot of things in life, you make your choices. For someone who doesn’t want a cramp riding position, is fed up with sportsbikes being so focussed, but also doesn’t have multiple bikes, the Xr1000 is a sportsbike which is comfy which you can tour on and will take decent luggage.
The BMW Motorrad web site in the US must be behind the UK's. The bike list listed at $11,695 + $495 shipping and no mention of a TE version. Under "Build Your Bike" it just says "Coming Soon". I think it looks better with the color matched panniers and, as a listed adventure bike, its more practical configuration. However the Tracer 900 GT is one of the best values on the market even with its few drawbacks vs. in typical BMW fashion, a fully optioned F900XR will likely sky rocket the price beyond reason. The Tracer 900 is a proven solid platform and the F900XR needs a long term assessment and review to prove its merits. The bike looks great new but how will it hold up after 10,000 miles?
...well that I can't answer...but I am getting a long term loaner from BMW UK later in the Spring so I hope to get to know this bike better...really enjoyed my first ride on it. I have a feeling the "TE" spec might just be a european thing???
I may be wrong...but as far as I know these TE versions are not even available in Germany. I believe its only for the UK market. (& maybe some other countries.) The US price you mentioned is almost the same we have to pay here in EURO.
Hi TMF, questions 1. 14:08 why you're glad this doesn't come with keyless ignition? 2. comparison between single sided swing-arm and convention double swing-arm, which do you prefer? Also please do a review on Triumph Tiger 900
Agree with the comments below that these bikes have all the power you could sensibly need. Would be interesting to compare to the Tiger 900 GT and the Multistrada 950 S

@@TheMissendenFlyer that would be fantastic. I look forward to seeing more in depth reviews. as I said your reviews and walk around are perfect as you have the straight talk no bull attitude which is needed as too many reviewers just try to upsell the vehicle's.
I've been waiting for your review and here we are! One question none of the other riders have addressed either though. Are there any vibrations in the bars, seat or pegs from that twin thumper??? That's the only thing that's stopping me going to order one tomorrow! What say you?!
As always, a great review. Thanks. I had been thinking of a Tracer 900 GT. This looks more suited to what I do. The GT has the cases but they won't even hold a helmet.
I have the 900gt consider a kappa rack and box a cost effective addition. Having seen this I won't be hanging up my tracer keys it's a flexible bike great for touring and commuting I use it all year round nearly 5k miles since July and love it. I'd take both for a test ride and see what u think
Rode one today. Nice engine, the TFT display is lovely but that seat is dreadful. Painful from the off . But the worse thing was the absolute road filth both the bike and my back was covered in my the time I got back from a wet testride. That rear end offers no protection at all

Excellent review, good to be back in Bucks!! Can't say I like the gold struts though, prefer them to match the frame. But other than that it looks great!
IM really conflicted between this bike and the F750GS.... I keep wondering if this is another 2 years and gone model, where the GS is a steadfast for support etc (for commuting and touring)

Yes one the snow drops start to appear there’s hope for us all!!

1961 Bonneville was 46 BHP. I fitted a remote diaphragm mounted Float Chamber, which gave an extra 1000rpm and around 112mph
Omg I was waiting so long for this review! Thanks!
Sorry for the wait! I was as fast as I could be!!
TheMissendenFlyer its alright, but I will keep my r1200gsa way beter I think 🤔
Great video again! I had a look at the F900R/XR today and I really like the looks, especially the XR. But I must admit I was a bit disappointed about the plastic fantastic look and feel of the grey/red panels.
Always the most helpful and honest reviews , excellent job !
Thank you!
The best way to enjoy your videos is with a cup of tea and some classic pound cake. Good review as always Sir!
Thank you Simon!
This new XR is such a nice bike. I still love the styling of the f800gs / f850gs. Great video🥂
I think for the price these are used, it is great. Picked up a 21 TE with 6k, eveey option selected for 8.5k, 2 year warranty, and 2 year breakdown. I think for my first bigger bike from an MT07, it's going to suit me well.
Nice…
Yes indeed sir ....nice review as always ....this could be my next addition to the garage as it ticks all the boxes for me ....was interested to hear your comment on the visor size being on the small side but there is a larger option ....I fancy long miles on it so wind protection a big consideration for me and also low seat height due to my short arse ..... Might hold off a year to see what unfolds regards teething issues and maybe by then get better deals on the go ( hopefully 👌) ....well done and keep up the good work sir 👏👏👏
Thanks for watching - will do....
Wait a year, maybr you'll grow like the magic bean.
On a 310Gs currently as my first bike, definitely eyeing this up to move up on to
I enjoy your content ,the first time impressions, the long-term reviews on a lot of the newer bikes and even your reading of the news.
Yes I'd love to do that Russell - there are some practical and logistical issues however....
Glad to see your review. My local dealer (BMW / Triumph) just got one in this past Saturday. It looked interesting. BTW, they got in 2 Rocket3's on the same truck, a GT & R.
Nice - if only a Triumph dealer would let me have a go on one!
Don't forget the new Triumph Tiger 900.
Boz Yeah I gave it a look but not my style🤪 Plus I have 2 Trumpy’s already🤭
Good first look video TMF. Nice looking bike.
Try riding the Kawasaki Z900. That is buttery smooth and not buzzy. Twin is not always better.
Thanks for another great review TMF - all the best.
Always good to hear from you Bonny!
Very nice bike and as always a great review! Thanks Andy, yours aye, Alan
Rode one last week whilst my R NineT was in for a service, it was the TE Spec Version, i actually enjoyed riding it
Was looking forward for this review. Thanks!
I love it! I have to get that promotion at work for a new bike.
Nice one Pete!

@@TheMissendenFlyer I've got the same wayward hair 😂
A comparison between this and the 900 tracer would be interesting.
@@neilcollinson6540 I'm surprised to read do! Did you also take the Tracer 900 in a road test or you're talking out of what you hear about it?
The Tracer is an absolutely awful bike.
@@mook16v - Thanks so FJR1300 then 👍🏼🙏🏼
@@neilcollinson6540Tracers dash is enougn not to buy it 🤮
This was a brand new bike so seats will always be on the hardside.
Wonderful, informative, complete review. Many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
@@TheMissendenFlyer It's been a while since you did the review. I am wondering if you have heard of "frequent complaints" either in ride or reliability for this bike. Thanks for any help.
Great vid saw this at the NEC and thought this could be my next bike just need you to try the new tiger 900 now so I can make my mind up
Yes I defo want to compare it to that - I was at the unveiling at Hinckley and it looks a great bike in the flesh....
Great review.
I might buy one of these.
Yes that would look good - that white one I showed the picture of looked really nice in the flesh.....
Why are you glad to say it doesn’t have a keyless ignition, I thought they were becoming all the rage. Another great video. John in Sooke BC
I just bought an F850GS, I chose a model without Keyless Ride... I wanted a standard keyed ignition. 👌 Just personal preference for me.
I just think keyless is an answer to a to a question no one asked and has the potential to go wrong....plus there are security implications.
Compared to an old GS the engine is certainly not boring, compared to a Street Triple R...it is....
@TheMissendenFlyerTanks for your answer. The best way is to reach my BMW shop and try it.
Looks like a great bike. I will likely try a test ride on one in the spring. Dealers here in Canada do not typically have demo bikes but BMW travels around with a truck load of bikes offering demo days at the dealerships
As always quality review 👍🏍
Thank you!
Screen blast hmm, I truly truly believe, whatever size screen a manufacturer could put on a bike, the tester /vlogger would say "screens a bit low".
Bikes are breezy things!!!!
Looking forward to the long termer👍👍The seat's okay, you're just lost a lot cushioning off the bottom 😀
I'm glad you noticed! ;0)
Do you really need them at all full stop?
Wasn't sure about my F800GT, but it won me over. Wish they'd kept the belt drive, I; would have one tomorrow.
Nice vid, good review as ever 👍🏻 Liking the colours on this one. Maybe a slightly taller package and it’s quite a complete package

@@sv7017 many thanks for the link :-)
I’d go for the R1250 RS over this.Just love the boxer engine. Thanks TMF.👍
Glad we concur! Thnaks for watching!
Nice everyday bike, looks really good too.
Good review, thanks.
I think the styling pays subtle homage to the Britten after looking at the opening picture.
Good idea - cheers Craig!
I'm trying to decide between this and the new Triumph Tiger 900
Hi, did you find the answer now ? ;-) I am in the same situation...! Good luck ;-) ! Regards.
@@Salva.S And you, did you get an answer?, I am also in the same situation. Tiger 900 GT, BMW F 900 XR or even a Yamaha Tracer 900 GT.
Your experience was very different to mine!
Hi Dave - what the white bike is your actual bike at Bahnstormer’s??? Cool!! Lovely looking machine....
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes. It arrived two weeks ago, have to wait until 14 Feb to pick it up according to BMW as they have restricted official launch until then.
Nice video and review as always.

Sunny day. Pretty, new bike. English countryside. It's a tough job you have there but someone has to do it.
I'm not complaining....except the pay is a bit naff!
Good choice - congratulations!
That's a seemingly fun good looking well featured (in the upscale trim) and not overly expensive. BMW - kudos.
Very true....
Yep could be....maybe they'll make us a Brexit spec next year...
I just checked it...Basic price Germany in 11.400€.
...and F 900 "Brexit" sounds good..;-))
Makes a lot of sense especially if you’re not into joining the GS club.......

@@TheMissendenFlyer Definitely.
Looks like this is going to be a popular commuter and tourer; BMW should be on to a winner here.

Some very nice bikes in this CC spot now as you say. If I get another bike in the future that isn't electric this will be the size. 👍
Yes I think I might go there too...either this or the Triumph Tiger 900 I fancy....
It does seem to be a bit lacking in the mudguard area if one was to be used in inclement weather I imagine you will look a bit grubby after?
7k on mine now. I think it's one of those bikes that's a keeper.
The F900XR or the Tiger 900 GT? - for commuting in and out town with some soft touring on back roads
Tiger 900 would be my choice but both excellent bikes and you won’t be disappointed with either….

IM really conflicted between this bike and the F750GS.... I keep wondering if this is another 2 years and gone model, where the GS is a steadfast for support etc (for commuting and touring)
This feels much lighter and more agile the the GS....
