I got a 79 F150 Custom 302 cu inch VIN G with 2 bbl carburetor. Trunks run great. I completely rewired the truck while keeping the original gauge board with led lighting. The original bulbs were not bright enough at night. So I bought the Haynes Repair Manual # 36054 73-79 Ford Pickup & Bronco. I have used it a lot while working it it bumper to bumper especially the wiring diagrams in the back. Pretty good Video.
Yea once I got my new motor in the truck I pan to rip out all the wiring and run all new wires I planned to get the Haynes manual for the lights and windshield wiper Circuit. Everything else I am wiring to an aftermarket fuse box and relay system.
Big help! Thanks.... Im struggling to figure out the fuel sender wiring. Do I need to drop the tank and run new wiring all the way back to the sender? or How do I find the proper wire at the old cluster plug?
Doug Garner I would recommend running new wires. I find the old wires and tapped into it but it stopped working and I found the factory wire was all chewed up under the frame rail. The sender goes off resistance and if there is any brakes or corrosion in that wire it will be off. I am having to run new wires this weekend for mine. Should beable to get to it without dropping the tank tho. I will see for sure this weekend tho
that's my dilemma too... I don't have a problem running new wires but I don't want to have to pull that tank! If I do have to pull the tank.. I'm going back in with a new sending unit!
Doug Garner I’m thinking about installing a new 38 gallon tank and sending unit. This 19 gallon tank just isn’t cutting it anymore. Especially at 11mpg
Brilliant. Thanks a bunch for filming this.
Nothing beats working on an old Ford in board shorts with a can of beer 🇺🇸
Aint that the truth! Can’t have too many or all I end up doing is laying under it for hours doing nothing but looking at it lol
love how you can climb into the engine bay to work on it, they dont make em how they used to
